This place is terrible. It was $80 for one nipple. I got a nipple piercing here and a year later it still hadn't healed. I ended up taking it out because it caused so much pain. I found out f I'm another piercer that the man at rendezvous did it wrong. Don't go here, and always check ratings before going somewhere. :)

This review is a few years late but when you discover tattoo artists who have actual talent, you tend to forget about the crappy ones. I'm now resentful of the crappy ones, hence this review.I chose Rendez Vous on a whim; it was also across the street from my job. This was before I started extensively researching my tattoo artists. I'm not proud of myself, but I didn't think any tattooer could possibly fuck up the simple design I chose. OOPS. My request was the Leaping Bunny symbol. If you're not familiar, it is a literal leaping bunny that is the the very face of vegans who are opposed to testing on animals.I left a deposit for my appointment, as requested. When I showed up on time for my appointment, he was not there. He showed up approximately 15 minutes later and told me he was bummed that I showed up on time because he wasn't prepared. OH, excuse me for attempting to respect your time!I sat in the waiting room for another 20 minutes just so he could come up with a sketch that vaguely resembled the very simple design I requested. I asked for this tat to be applied to the back of my neck and what he came up with was so gigantic that it could fit only on my ass. I had to keep begging him to scale it down and he reacted like I asked him to kill every member of his family. I'm so goddamned pissed at myself because I allowed him to tattoo the symbol I wanted and ended up with incredibly crooked and horrible line work. I also wanted the leaping bunny to, well, leap, and he tattooed it at a right angle.To sum up: I initially tried emailing him to get it fixed and he did not respond. I subsequently learned that if your tattoo artist is incompetent, you should not return to said untalented artist to fix it.LESSON LEARNED.

I've had 2 piercings done here and it was a great experience both times. They were very thorough in explaining my after care and walking me through the process, even imparting some fun knowledge on me whenever I seemed intetested. As for people complaining that they're "rude," from what I've seen both times (and mind you for my second piercing I was in the shop for a long while since I went with a group of friends), they only respond rudely to someone copping a serious attitude or being disrespectful. For example some guy knocked on the door to the piercing room while my friend was getting a private piercing. When he answered this young man said "Are you busy? We've been waiting a while and we wanted to get some tattoos." I couldn't believe it (especially since there were other people there waiting before they had arrived) and I feel like Saint John responded appropriately when he said "I'm sorry, I can't help you."
If you're worried about going because you see comments about them being rude, I promise, just be friendly and patient and you won't have a problem.

I have been there 4 times in the last two years John has done my daughters lip nose and belly button and did a great job. John and his wife are great people and you can tell they enjoy doing what they do when your there they make you feel welcome. There place is very clean has a good smell and is very well Kelly up. Some people may say they are a little high but I know I'm getting what I pay for when I go there and will keep going.

My friend and I came in behind one other group of people and we were sitting in here for 3 hours - also they didn't have a tattoo artist on a Friday night. Like why? I really don't understand how they get any business at all. The people that work here are also really rude as well.

It was a sanitary process; however, the price was awfully high. I'm used to getting my piercings elsewhere for less than $60 so I was appalled by the prices at Rendezvous. Not only was the price high, but I just felt a sense of hostility. The owner was unfriendly at times and yelled rudely at my friend for wanting to come in and observe after I had made a small comment about them not wanting to come in prior to my piercing. If you want a piercing in Blacksburg and can't wait to go back home to get it done, I would recommend Rendezvous; however, I would honestly just wait a few more weeks/months or just make a trip back home to get it done.

HE INSULTED ME FOR NO REASON. Today I went in and asked about price estimates on tattoo ideas. He mentioned how one of them would cost more due the difficulties, and I related this to tribal tattoos being difficult because you have to make them "pointy". I simply showed my tribal and how ONE TINY PLACE was slightly off because it was hard to make pointy. I NEVER said this was a big deal at all, nor did I conclude that my whole beautiful tattoo was a wreck because of it. I love my tribal.
When I showed him part of my tribal tattoo, he insulted me for absolutely no reason, and this was NOT necessary. He told me:
"So, someone takes their time to make you a beautiful tattoo and you insult it for having a slight problem? THIS SHOWS WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE."
Who the hell says that to someone they don't know?
I NEVER said my tattoo was not beautiful for having a slight mistake. I never even think about that little line, but apparently he felt the need to insult me. Every tattoo can have a tiny line or coloring that is off, it doesn't mean you hate your tattoo or the artist. When it comes to you getting a permanent tattoo on your body, it's OK to have an opinion about what you want, and how you want it changed, and you should be nice about it. As far as I'm concerned, he's the most judgmental ASS I've ever met.
I would not recommend going there if you want him to insult you and criticize you for no reason. This was NOT necessary to attack me for no reason.
This just shows what kind of person YOU ARE, Hypocrite.

I have been to Rendezvous twice, for a nose piercing and a cartilage piercing. I can't recommend this business enough. Saint John clearly has a lot of experience in this field; he does a wonderful job...
I have been to Rendezvous twice, for a nose piercing and a cartilage piercing. I can't recommend this business enough. Saint John clearly has a lot of experience in this field; he does a wonderful job balancing what the customer wants with his knowledge of what will look best, for example regarding the size or positioning of a piercing. Additionally, health and cleanliness is a top priority for him. He always sends me off with lots of literature on how to clean and care for piercings to prevent infections. I believe the minimum for tattoos is $75. Don't hesitate to stop in for a consult.

That was it. . .no tattoo for you, have a nice day. Obviously he has plenty of business and revenue that he can turn away customers based on his personal opinion of the design they want (although the shop was dead empty when I walked in on a Saturday afternoon). Here's a tip: if you don't like doing Hokie feet or VT-related tattoos, maybe you should relocate your business OUT OF BLACKSBURG. I am more than happy to take my business elsewhere and recommend everyone I know do the same.

I will be recommending this shop and John to everyone I know. I had a wonderful experience and I plan to return in the future. Not only was the environment warm and inviting, but John was very thorough in being sanitary and explaining what he was doing. It is very obvious that he and his wife put a lot of thought into the experience their clients have. Although the price is a little bit more expensive, he explained the importance of using the best materials and jewelry. The service that comes with getting the piercing done and how informative John was made it well worth it. He was very nice and professional. Not to mention, he put up with my squeamish friend! Allowing them to be in the room, when I got the piercing done, also made the experience very pleasant. John was also able to pierce through a thick layer of scar tissue (which I had heard makes the piercing painful). However, besides the small pinch, I didn't feel hardly any discomfort! I am extremely impressed. He talked to my friends and I through the entire process, explaining how he was using the best needles "in the world" and the materials they were made out of (showing the detail and thought put even into his tools). Most importantly, he handed me written instructions and his card so I could contact him with any questions about the healing process. Down to the last detail, everything was a great experience.

John and his wife were laid back and made me feel comfortable, and they were also very friendly (yes, both times)! John explained each step before he did it, and it went smoothly. I personally felt they fostered a feeling of trust in their knowledge of the business and seem to really enjoy what they are doing. It's a clean and comfortable establishment, too. I love my piercing, thanks guys!

WORST experience by far. Went in and got my tongue pierced by John, piercing and aftercare went fine until the next day when I noticed the ball on the underside had gone into my tongue. The barbell I was pierced with was probably half the size of the one you're supposed to be pierced with. Unfortunately Rendezvous was closed the Thursday when I was experiencing the worst of my problems. I left Rendezvous a message letting them know what happened and asking them to call me back. I called multiple other piercers in the area to see if they could help replace the barbell with a longer one. I was out of luck, and ended up having to go to the ER to get the piercing removed. I can assure you I've had a great deal of piercings and there was NO way in hell I was gonna be able to remove the piercing on my own. The piercing was removed and I was put on antibiotics. I called back to let them know what happened and to see if there was anything they could do due to the unfortunate circumstances. In response I was treated like an idiot and told that I should never have gone to the hospital and that it was all my fault the piercing didn't heal correctly. Not once did I receive an apology or any other form of proper business etiquette when on the phone. To top things off after a polite and mature conversation with John (I'm 20 years old) HE HUNG UP ON ME.

When I walked in, All I could say to myself is, "Oh my God, This place is very clean." John was very nice to me, He patiently waited on me while I took my time to pick out the stlye belly button ring I wanted. I watched take a clean needle out of a small package myself and even soak it in Disinfectant while he told me the percausions I need to take before he pierced my Belly Butoon. Yeah, He was straight to the point to me, and as far as being rude, I thought not at all. He doesn't Like whiney people, if you are there to whine and worry, you have no place in getting what you came there for, and yeah he come off as a bit rude, but oh well, he had a great scense of humor. I will be going back soon to have my Industrial piercing done, and when I have the money, I will eventually go have my angel wings tattoo done on my back. He is 100% every dime and is a true professional.

The exact answer he gave me was "well no tatoo shop is ever gonna tell you they use dirty stuff." Saint John as he likes to refer to himself is anything but. I was also told that it was "rude to say that you want t see the whole process." Do yourself a favor and go a few blocks up to Ancient Art.

The very first impression is, "Wow, this place is clorox-clean!" Reasonably priced, and professional. They are very friendly and took time to talk with you to be sure you are getting exactly what you want. I was very pleased with my tattoo and I recomend them to everyone and will always return for any additional work! An Excellant choice.

It was a sanitary process; however, the price was awfully high. I'm used to getting my piercings elsewhere for less than $60 so I was appalled by the prices at Rendezvous. Not only was the price high, but I just felt a sense of hostility. The owner was unfriendly at times and yelled rudely at my friend for wanting to come in and observe after I had made a small comment about them not wanting to come in prior to my piercing. If you want a piercing in Blacksburg and can't wait to go back home to get it done, I would recommend Rendezvous; however, I would honestly just wait a few more weeks/months or just make a trip back home to get it done.

HE INSULTED ME FOR NO REASON. Today I went in and asked about price estimates on tattoo ideas. He mentioned how one of them would cost more due the difficulties, and I related this to tribal tattoos being difficult because you have to make them "pointy". I simply showed my tribal and how ONE TINY PLACE was slightly off because it was hard to make pointy. I NEVER said this was a big deal at all, nor did I conclude that my whole beautiful tattoo was a wreck because of it. I love my tribal.
When I showed him part of my tribal tattoo, he insulted me for absolutely no reason, and this was NOT necessary. He told me:
"So, someone takes their time to make you a beautiful tattoo and you insult it for having a slight problem? THIS SHOWS WHAT KIND OF PERSON YOU ARE."
Who the hell says that to someone they don't know?
I NEVER said my tattoo was not beautiful for having a slight mistake. I never even think about that little line, but apparently he felt the need to insult me. Every tattoo can have a tiny line or coloring that is off, it doesn't mean you hate your tattoo or the artist. When it comes to you getting a permanent tattoo on your body, it's OK to have an opinion about what you want, and how you want it changed, and you should be nice about it. As far as I'm concerned, he's the most judgmental ASS I've ever met.
I would not recommend going there if you want him to insult you and criticize you for no reason. This was NOT necessary to attack me for no reason.
This just shows what kind of person YOU ARE, Hypocrite.

I have been to Rendezvous twice, for a nose piercing and a cartilage piercing. I can't recommend this business enough. Saint John clearly has a lot of experience in this field; he does a wonderful job...
I have been to Rendezvous twice, for a nose piercing and a cartilage piercing. I can't recommend this business enough. Saint John clearly has a lot of experience in this field; he does a wonderful job balancing what the customer wants with his knowledge of what will look best, for example regarding the size or positioning of a piercing. Additionally, health and cleanliness is a top priority for him. He always sends me off with lots of literature on how to clean and care for piercings to prevent infections. I believe the minimum for tattoos is $75. Don't hesitate to stop in for a consult.

That was it. . .no tattoo for you, have a nice day. Obviously he has plenty of business and revenue that he can turn away customers based on his personal opinion of the design they want (although the shop was dead empty when I walked in on a Saturday afternoon). Here's a tip: if you don't like doing Hokie feet or VT-related tattoos, maybe you should relocate your business OUT OF BLACKSBURG. I am more than happy to take my business elsewhere and recommend everyone I know do the same.

I will be recommending this shop and John to everyone I know. I had a wonderful experience and I plan to return in the future. Not only was the environment warm and inviting, but John was very thorough in being sanitary and explaining what he was doing. It is very obvious that he and his wife put a lot of thought into the experience their clients have. Although the price is a little bit more expensive, he explained the importance of using the best materials and jewelry. The service that comes with getting the piercing done and how informative John was made it well worth it. He was very nice and professional. Not to mention, he put up with my squeamish friend! Allowing them to be in the room, when I got the piercing done, also made the experience very pleasant. John was also able to pierce through a thick layer of scar tissue (which I had heard makes the piercing painful). However, besides the small pinch, I didn't feel hardly any discomfort! I am extremely impressed. He talked to my friends and I through the entire process, explaining how he was using the best needles "in the world" and the materials they were made out of (showing the detail and thought put even into his tools). Most importantly, he handed me written instructions and his card so I could contact him with any questions about the healing process. Down to the last detail, everything was a great experience.

John and his wife were laid back and made me feel comfortable, and they were also very friendly (yes, both times)! John explained each step before he did it, and it went smoothly. I personally felt they fostered a feeling of trust in their knowledge of the business and seem to really enjoy what they are doing. It's a clean and comfortable establishment, too. I love my piercing, thanks guys!

WORST experience by far. Went in and got my tongue pierced by John, piercing and aftercare went fine until the next day when I noticed the ball on the underside had gone into my tongue. The barbell I was pierced with was probably half the size of the one you're supposed to be pierced with. Unfortunately Rendezvous was closed the Thursday when I was experiencing the worst of my problems. I left Rendezvous a message letting them know what happened and asking them to call me back. I called multiple other piercers in the area to see if they could help replace the barbell with a longer one. I was out of luck, and ended up having to go to the ER to get the piercing removed. I can assure you I've had a great deal of piercings and there was NO way in hell I was gonna be able to remove the piercing on my own. The piercing was removed and I was put on antibiotics. I called back to let them know what happened and to see if there was anything they could do due to the unfortunate circumstances. In response I was treated like an idiot and told that I should never have gone to the hospital and that it was all my fault the piercing didn't heal correctly. Not once did I receive an apology or any other form of proper business etiquette when on the phone. To top things off after a polite and mature conversation with John (I'm 20 years old) HE HUNG UP ON ME.

John was very nice to me, He patiently waited on me while I took my time to pick out the stlye belly button ring I wanted. I watched take a clean needle out of a small package myself and even soak it in Disinfectant while he told me the percausions I need to take before he pierced my Belly Butoon. Yeah, He was straight to the point to me, and as far as being rude, I thought not at all. He doesn't Like whiney people, if you are there to whine and worry, you have no place in getting what you came there for, and yeah he come off as a bit rude, but oh well, he had a great scense of humor. I will be going back soon to have my Industrial piercing done, and when I have the money, I will eventually go have my angel wings tattoo done on my back. He is 100% every dime and is a true professional.

The exact answer he gave me was "well no tatoo shop is ever gonna tell you they use dirty stuff." Saint John as he likes to refer to himself is anything but. I was also told that it was "rude to say that you want t see the whole process." Do yourself a favor and go a few blocks up to Ancient Art.

I was very pleased with my tattoo and I recomend them to everyone and will always return for any additional work! An Excellant choice.
