I took my 2 girls to mountainside 1 got their nose pierced and the other got her very first tattoo and they not only answered all our questions they were very friendly. So, I'm completely confused as to why this studio has such low ratings.  I have been to many tattoo studios and this one... is TOP NOTCH!  My daughter had her first tattoo here, and I watched from start to finish.  Hygiene, and cleanliness are priority.  All equipment is new and modern.  Alex is an amazing artist.  His lines are clean, shading is superior.  I highly recommend this studio for any and all!!!!  Kudos Alex, you and your team are much appreciated, and we will be back!! Yikes. Half eaten lunch out on the counter in the very area the owner, Alex, did his tattoos. Positioned my daughter sitting upright for a tattoo on her neck, then chided her for moving slightly. (Resulting in a less than perfect lettering).  Did not stop working when she asked to take a break. No written instructions for after care. Would NEVER COME BACK AGAIN. Read Less

This review is based on the Bellowsfalls Vt shop. I cannot believe the experience I had here. The place reeked of pot (smoke if you want but on the job?? really) He pierced my nose and then "lost' the jewelry in my nose.. said he needed to try again and that he would hit the same spot. Two weeks later my nose is swollen, sore, and has puss coming out. I made sure that I had been cleaning it well. I went to a place in Keene today and he removed the jewelry and cleaned everything for me. He told me that the hole that was made the first time was bigger than the jewelry and that there were actually two holes made. I can't believe I paid and tipped for this to be done. My experience was not so good. When I walked in, I saw a guy sitting on one of their couches, which I assumed was a customer waiting, and after about ten minutes of looking around and waiting for someone to come out, the guy on the couch asked how he could help. Fast forward to making the appointment, I asked *roughly* about what would the estimate be for the piece I wanted, and was told $150. Keeping in mind that I was given an ESTIMATE, I brought extra cash, just in case.When it came time for my appt. I was told that the owner was going to be doing my piece - a Dali inspired one. Stencil was made and put on, but as he had began the outline he asked me who Dali is. Not a great time to realize that your artist has no art history knowledge. After the painfully awkward and silent 2.5 hour long session, time to pay. He wanted $250.....thank god I brought extra money, but I was not expecting that much of a price difference. He can do nice flowers, but I wouldn't ever go back or recommend it. Its worth your time, body, and money to just go to Burlington where the real VT artists are. Read Less

With the owner being a close friends father, I trusted that everything would go smoothly. I had paid $400 up front for a special that I was to recieve when I went home to visit. Upon unforseen circumstances,  I was not able to make it back home.I asked for the $400 back as 1. That is a lot of money to lose and 2. I believed I would get it back because things happen.... I was promised I would recieve the money back, and each month there was a new excuse on why the owner couldn't pay me. It has now been 7 months, and he has repeatedly ignored my messages, and has not sent me a penny back.I've heard great things about this place, but was apparently misinformed.  I will never do business with this place again.
