I went here to see if they had any appointments and if not set up one. I went around noon and talked to someone who said they were all busy but to come back around 6 or 6:30 and they would be less busy. I went back at 6:40 just to find out that they were actually booked for the rest of the day. On top of that the person I had originally talked to was apparently on the day shift and the artists there book their own appointments. Total waste of my time. Why not inform customers how the system works and not tell them they can get in later when they really can't or have no idea what availability there really is for the rest of the day. Read Less

Do not get a piercing here. A friend and I both got ear piercings and we’ve had horrible complications. Despite taking the utmost care and cleaning regularly with saline solution, witch hazel, disinfectant, and using doctor prescribed antibiotics, we both had painful infections and bumps. My friend had to go to the doctor 3 times to get the infection drained. She was forced to allow the piercing to close up in order for it to heal. I’ve had the same problem and my piercing eventually closed as well, despite my best efforts. But another mistake that this piercing place made was that my piercing was diagonal in my ear, making it painful and difficult to put earrings in. All in all, if you go here you’ll waste a ton of money and it’ll just cause you a lot of pain and misery. Read Less

I've had three tattoos and both daith piercings done at Arcane Art. The shop itself is always clean, organized and comfortable. They've always been wonderfully understanding with my desires; If I wanted a tattoo a little more tilted, larger, smaller, or the opposite direction it was no problem. They take all the time I need with the prep and putting the inked image perfectly positioned- even if it means doing it again and again, and without being negative. They seem genuinely happy to do whatever needs to be done to make my experience a positive one. I had a small, 20 minute tat done and my artist was super patient with my desires to adjust and readjust until it was exactly what I wanted. I used to go to Vegas to have them done, but since I've found Arcane, I've been so happy!! I had a large one done on my back by a place in AF, and I'm REALLY unhappy with the positioning. They didn't even ask, or show me what was being done. Regretfully, the tat from the AF ship is quite large and would be difficult to cover. My daith piercings were SO much LESS PAINFUL than I was expecting because the experienced technician was just amazing. It was clear that she knew exactly what she was doing, not just secretary helping out here and there. Arcane is by far the BEST shop in Utah to go to for both piercings and tattoos. The artists are phenomenal at their job; they always exceed my expectations for my ink. Jentrey does most of my tattoos and he has blown my mind over and over again with his talent. However all of the artists are amazing and I have never felt more comfortable with a group of people before. They are so respectful and always do their best to give you what you want. Wasn't very happy with my experience. Got a tongue piercing and they put in way too large of a barbell. I understand using a larger barbell for swelling but this one was not the appropriate piece of jewelry for a healing tongue piercing. I at first thought I just had a small mouth and was thinking I might just not be cut out for a tongue ring. Went to a different shop for advice because of the difficulty with it's size as it kept tearing the wound and I couldn't even swallow properly. They explained it was way too big for a tongue piercing (even for a healing piece) and changed it to a more appropriate piece. Loads better after the change. I wish I didn't have to go through that though as it did tear the wound up pretty good making it harder to heal. These guys should know what jewelry is right for what piercing. They should know if a bar is too big and could cause the piercing to not heal right or to cause damage. Not impressed at all. That being said, the person who did the piercing (don't remember names) was very nice and friendly and made the process very fast. I've been to this shop twice now, my first time was getting a small tattoo by Justus which was a really positive experience. The second time was getting my lip pierced by Katelynn who was great! I was trying to contact the shop today around 2:45pm via FB messenger to get information about jewelry options and scheduling an appointment to get a smaller curved barbell, but I was greeted with a "Hi, fuck off" from the person on the other end. If this is how clients are treated, I won't be coming here anymore and will be going to other shops in the future for my body modification needs. Read Less

Arcane Tattoo is CLEAN, the staff is incredibly FRIENDLY and patient. Natasha especially was very patient as she walked me through the process and answered all of my questions. She did an amazing job on my nostril and tragus piercings. She was quick and now the next day they do not hurt at all. I will be back in the future for sure!! Im visiting my sister from the bay area and i Tried to bring my niece here yesterday to get a piercing in the afternoon and we were told the piercer wouldnt be in till 6pm....kind of odd but ok maybe that's how these small towns work not sure....so we waited till today and tried calling over 10 times in the past 2 hours. I wasnt sure if it was my reception or something since we are from out of town but then my call started being forwarded to voicemail. Wish i could give zero stars. This place has no organization. I came on Friday the 13th, which is obviously a busy day and they were not prepared at all. They called people based off of their paperwork, which they said outright was out of order. I was told the wait would be an hour, and I waited more than two hours. They told me and my friend I was with that we were next, and we watched at least 3 people go in before us after they said that.  On hour 3 when they called the 5th person instead of us I said that we had been told we were next and the man with the beard and septum ring was so rude we ended up leaving. I went in tonight to see if I could get a tattoo either for tonight or to book an appointment with an artist as soon as possible. I had my tattoo planned with another tattoo artist at a different shop but he kept flaking on me. I decided to come to this shop because it was the only shop I had gotten a tattoo from. The only other tattoo I have was done by Justus and it still looks amazing after having it done over a year ago. Anywhoodle. Luckily for me, Jentrey was available t...o do my tattoo almost immediately. I only had to wait roughly 30 minutes for him to prepare. Arcane art is the shit! My wife got her first tattoo here and it's awesome so I decided to give them a shot.   My man Marcus Judd designed the DOPEST dragon tattoo I've ever seen. I'm thrilled with how it's turned out so far, and I can't wait to get it finished! Check him out on Instagram @the_real_marcus_judd if you're thinking about getting some ink.   At one point I actually blacked out, I guess from the endorphin rush, and Marcus handled the situation really well. Without him there to talk me through it and make sure I didn't accidentally hurt myself things could have gone badly, but he was able to keep me from getting injured and kept me calm by explaining what was going on and talking to me to make sure I was okay; he even gave me snacks and a drink to get my blood sugar back up.  Overall I had a great experience and I'll definitely be getting a lot more work done by him in the future. I scheduled my tattoo and explained to Jake what I wanted about a month out. I was kinda worried he wouldn't understand the look I was going for, but when I showed up to my appointment he had it sketched out and it was perfect, just what I wanted. The vibe of the place is awesome. The people seemed cool, the music was chill, and from the elaborate process of setting up and sanitizing his work station, I felt confident in the cleanliness. Jake was dope. Both extremely talented and funny guy. He was able to work well on my skin even tho there was some scarring and tough skin. You wouldn't be able to tell that was an issue on the finished product. His shading and ability to make it look so 3D is amazing. I would definitely recommend this place. Read Less

Marcus Judd is a great tattoo artist no not great amazing! My wife and I stopped in randomly because she wanted a tattoo done for our baby girl who was born on April Fools so she told Marcus her idea of what she wanted and let him have the creative freedom from there. His lines are solid he is very good at doing realism his shading is on point. We both highly recommend this man aside from being a talented artist we enjoyed bullshitting with him while he did our tattoos. Yes our tattoos, I went in the next day and he did a tattoo on my leg which I freakin' love, my tattoo is a geometric arrow with clock/compass and a quote in it. My wife had a daith piercing here a while back. More recently she got a new tattoo for her birthday. They have multiple artists who all charge the standards shop rate, though they each set their own schedules and work somewhat independently. Each artist has their own style, so they encourage guests to look at a sampling of their work and pick one whose style fits the best. Next, talk to that artist and work out the scheduling and arrange the details of the work to be done. They usually book it over a month in advance. Plan to set an appointment and have your work done on a later date. It is a rare exception that they can accept a walk-in and do the work the same day. For my wife's tattoo, she choose an artist. She explained what she wanted. He asked questions to make sure that he understood her expectations. He offered explanations about styles, size, and characteristics of what he could do, and gave her options. The final product was better than she expected, and he played fun music and engaged in conversation while he worked.Read Less

Took my daughter there yesterday for a piercing. When we pulled there were 2 guys standing outside talking. We went inside and waited for about 10 minutes, there was no one at the front desk, so I stepped outside to ask the guys if anyone was here to help me, one guy that I think works there, I have seen him there before, told me that they were doing a piercing in the back. I stepped back inside and they went back to there extremely explicit conversation that we could hear. I am not uptight or a prude in any way but the lanquage they used in front of 2 ladies....one being a 14 year girl is ridiculous. Not impressed with them at all. I was very excited to get tattooed by Audrey. I went in end of November 2016 and set up an appointment for February 2017. Me and my girlfriend got work off at least a month in advance for this. We showed up on the day of the appointment and was told that Audrey would not be coming into work that day. She had gotten sick which would be understandable if she would have had the decency to call us, even if it was an hour in advance. Turns out she doesn't have a phone to get in co...ntact with her clients. One man who I assume works there told us 'you just gotta catch her when she's in' I set this appointment up 3 months in advance. How do you expect to be considered a professional if you can't even contact your clients? I was very frustrated and knew almost immediately I would not be letting someone this unprofessional do my tattoo, but I left my information so she could contact me and maybe reschedule. Dont recall which guy I spoke to it was either dumb or dumber any way he didn't know if there were any openings early afternoon or evening just said he could call me back,I gave it 2 or 3 hours finally called them back that's when I spoke to dumber he didn't know the difference between afternoon and evening to make me an appointment. They must use way to much wacky Tabaccy, never go back there again. I did get my brow pierced there how ever that took 3 hour's from the time I walked in to finish, they take allot of breaks. I had 2 cartilage piercings done here, and after over 3 months of the piercing not healing and the bumps growing worse, I went to see another piercer in Seattle. He said, "Oh wow. In all my 17 years of piercing, that's some of the worst I've ever seen". I had to get the jewelry removed, and he told me that it was poor quality as well. Not only that, but he said it was pierced crooked, and he would have never let me leave the shop with a piercing like that. Please pass on this shop and head to Koi in SLC! Read Less

Unfortunately, this was not the best place for me to get pierced. Three weeks ago, I had an industrial done. I followed the aftercare procedures perfectly (this was my third piercing). The swelling was still a concern to me, and some bumps had begun to form around the piercing sites. When I went to my regular piercing studio to make a jewelry purchase for a different piercing, I had the piercer take a look at the piercing to give me her thoughts. She did not like where the piercings had been placed (the top puncture was too close to my head) and thought it was too shallow. She suggested giving it a few more weeks and then maybe considering removing the jewelry.I had to go back to the piercing studio today to have a longer bar put into the cartilage piercing. A different piercer was working tonight, and she'd pierced my tragus months earlier. I asked what she thought of the industrial, and her opinions were the same as the other piercer's. Her suggestion was to remove it entirely because she did not think it was going to heal properly. I took her advice and had her remove the jewelry. She also stated that the bar used to pierce me was not of good quality.Not everyone will have the same experience; others have been pierced here and left positive reviews with no problems, which is what brought me here in the first place. However, I have to express my disappointment and the fact that I'm out the money I paid to have the piercing done, had to discard the jewelry, and have no piercing anymore. I've found it. By golly, I've found it. The BEST tattoo parlour I've ever been to. My friend and I were walk ins last night. My first opinion was that it was the cleanest shop I've ever been into. We had some ideas that we wanted, some arrows and geometrical shapes. Cole greeted us (SO nice and professional) and started working on drawing something up for my friend using the pictures we provided him. Daniel (who was my artist) came over to me and we worked together to draw something up. He was so patient and understanding when I would sometimes change his drawings (call me a little OCD haha, but this gem is a permanent thing,  at that point its ok to be a little OCD.) He drew out something SO amazing and beautiful, his specialty lies in clean lines so I knew I was in good hands. He turned on some epic movie music soundtracks, and it was a nice refresher from the death metal/screamo you always hear in shops. He was fast and efficient, and i LOVE my tattoo. I was a walk in appointment but that didn't phase them. I worked with Justus to make sure my small yet very meaningful finger tattoos were perfect. If you want someone who is OCD about their work( and you should since a tattoo is for life) then Justus is your guy! He resized the image several times to make sure it was a good fit.
