This is the shop that is completely unprofessional... didn't they post about having your wife be above a "7" if she is gong to be in a picture with one of their tattoos?? I had expressed my annoyance on google stating that I was upset because I wanted a simple outline tattoo and no one would even give me the time of day. The number that was on the website text me and said "we don't have a outline specialist" and to me that made absolutely no sense, since you have to outline EVERY SINGLE TATTOO and then asked the savage tattoo "so you mean you won't do my tattoo" and he said no. There was no "I'm sorry we don't want to make you pay $200 (which is store min) for a simple outline , here are other shops that we would recommend" or "I know it's a basic outline and we'd love to help you, but that would be a really expensive small tattoo, are you sure you want to come to us?" Nothing. So I wrote a review on google to see if their owner; Dax, would careTo respond. His answer was "we have a $200 minimum". After that I looked at the other one star reviews and Dax, instead of being apologetic, told people off, said to not start drama, and that other people are liars. So In conclusion, the artists are really great and I would have loved to get a tattoo here, but no one, cares for their clients AT ALL. It's easy money for them and clients are getting ripped off. I wish I could give this shop no stars. Savage Tattoo is a joke. The shop manager Dax is VERY disrespectful to clients, about other tattoo artists and just people in general. If they ever get bad reviews all they do is be complete assholes to whoever leaves them calling them names and saying "the customer isn't always right" and "you can't always have it your way" etc..  If you don't believe me go read some of there responds back to bad reviews. The shop recently dragged an artist through the dirt on the savage tattoo Instagram page trying to make him look bad and telling personal things/ giving away too much information in the comments about the artist.  They also said "fuck you" to someone who commented on their post, trashy and unprofessional. I have experience with Dax being rude to clients. (I was scheduled with Chris but didn't have his contact info so I messaged the shop asking if I could change my tattoo idea) Dax freaked out at me and basically told me to fuck off and never come back to the shop, then proceeded to call me out on a live video to say "Basically we have a situation where this entitled girl who won a gift card thinks she can have her way like fucking Burger King." Which I CAN have it my way, it's my body and my tattoo. He also sent me very rude voice messages on DM telling me I couldn't change my tattoo up because I put money down and had a "legal contract" that said I couldn't change anything but I never signed anything nor did they tell me I couldn't change my mind, gift card or not it was my money that I won and I could use it how I wanted. Dax told me I couldn't change my mind and do something else with that money, which the gift card wouldn't have even covered an hour of work. Also, my appointment was scheduled a year away so the artist had plenty of time to help me change my idea (let's keep in mind that the tattoo artist I talked to didn't draw anything up and he didn't ask for any picture reference so nothing was really set in stone) instead of handling it like a decent human Dax had to make it a big deal and called me a liar and started saying I said stuff I didn't. Dax is the worst shop owner and I 10/10 do NOT recommend going to this shop due to them being VERY unprofessional. All the shop cares about is your money not what tattoo you want. I am in disbelief at how rude these people are to customers. From start to finish I was pleased with how I was treated and how my tattoo turned out. I went into the shop to see what the process was to get started as this was my first tattoo the is where I met Chris Good AKA arsphox. From that moment I spoke with him over the course of the time I had to wait for my appointment as he is a very talented artist and fills his book quickly. Each time I spoke with him about what I wanted to do and anything else I felt as if talking to my best friend. When it came time for my tattoo the experience was absolutely amazing I couldn't be happier with Chris's work he takes pride in what he does and really molds your idea into a masterpiece. I'm writing about my tattoo and tattoo experience with Tattoo Artsits: Chris @arsphox_tattoo Had the worst expirience you could probably ever have with an artist. This shop prides it's self in their "outstanding" artist. And how they are soooooo honest, have integrity and much more. I'm honestly SHOCKED I had the expirience I had here.  Not only do I have an unfinished crappy looking tattoo the artist was an absolute bully and horror to work with. Rescheduled for poor scheduling, at the time of my session I waited 4 hours after my scheduled time to even start. Because he had little to nothing ready and was talking to possible clients... I paid a big deposit for my spot. So that could have waited. . I set another deposit for an appointment he didn't even put me for and then I waited 2 months for him to get me one(in this time frame I was contacting him often to get a date) And he only did so because I contacted he shop to explain everything that had happened there is a lot to what happened as well. Not only was I treated like garbage the artist told me the reason my tattoo looked like crap was my fault and that my brain might not be right.. what the hell? So now I'm out a couple hundred for the deposit and the shop won't honor it and give it back (even though Nolo personally told me I would get it back). DEPOSITS ARE FOR HOLDING APPOINTMENTS!! I didn't even get an appointment. And to top it off I was lied to about the amount of experience he has. I was also informed this is the SECOND incident like this with this artist since Janurary! I hope no one has this expirience again. And hopefully the shop can maintain more honest and caring artists in the future. I went to savage tattoo for a fairly large back piece, and I was extremely nervous as this was the biggest tattoo I’ve ever got. I was looking for an artist that was detail oriented and could put my ideas together to make a beautiful tattoo. Not to mention, my tattoo required color and clean line work. As soon as I walked into the shop, the staff was extremely professional and friendly. The receptionist listened to my ideas and showed me a couple different artists he thought would be best for the type of tattoo I wanted. We finally decided that Jeramie would be the best artist and right away I was scheduled to see him in two months. Jeramie is BY FAR the most professional tattoo artist I’ve met. Not only did he go out of his way to make me feel comfortable during the tattooing process, but his attention to detail is spectacular. He listened to every little detail I expressed about my piece and put it together beautifully. The final piece came out better than I expected and he tailored the tattoo to fit me and look as best as possible. I had followed Savage Tattoo's and Kira's work for a little while before I finally decided to go in for my consultation, convinced by Kira's clean lines and geometric works. I had a vague idea of design, but didn't know quite how to articulate it. In the end, Kira took the challenge head on and produced a beautiful design that I am so happy with. I have been watching savage tattoo for 2 years. Observing their work and seeing that they are truly the best in their field. My artist was Levi. He saw what I wanted for my tattoo and helped me to puzzle something together. We fiddled and fixed until it was how we wanted. He continually made sure that I was happy with this tattoo because it is something that will be on me for the rest of my life. I am beyond thrilled with how far we got for our first session and I immediately made an appointment for the second because I can’t wait to see where it will go from here. This shop is phenomenal. They are very serious about what they do and as soon as you walk in you can feel a positive energy about the place. They take it very seriously when setting you up with an artist. I started with one artist and he was very honest in telling me that he did not feel that he was the right one for this and introduced me to another artist. I ended up with Chris and he was amazing. He was brilliant and so thoughtful about how I felt about the tattoo and making sure he was doing the right thing. This being my first tattoo I was nervous, but the staff at Savage made me feel so at home. Their proffesionalism and artistry is top notch. My artist Chris was so down to earth and his knowledge in not only tattooing but also placement blew me away. I heard about Savage from a friend who is a tattoo artist. She said Savage is the only place in Utah she would go. My artist was Levi. At my consultation he was excited about my piece. When I got to my appointment we were going over my design and found some issues. Instead of forcing the piece we came up with a totally different design and applied it as a cover up. At no point was I uncomfortable with Levi. I asked for his professional opinion and he wasn’t shy about telling me that he could do my piece but it probably wasn’t what I wanted simply because of the placement. He worked with me for 3 hours until we had a design I was excited about getting and he was excited about doing. Don’t go to Levi because he will be too booked for when I want to continue my sleeve. Kira gave me the most beautiful tattoo. She took an outline from a motorcycle I had done a few years ago, and turned it into something really incredible. She was fast, yet detailed, and the result is something I'll love forever. She's also super kind and easy to hang with for a few hours! I actually found a design I loved on their instagram page and I called to ask about it after filling out forms for my consultation. The lovely April was the artist that created the watercolor mandala I picked and it was still available! The vibe of the shop is chill and laid back, it was easy to get comfortable and relax. It felt like we were all hanging out as April was tattooing me. After two sessions my tattoo is finished and it looks AMAZING. The artists really take their time to make sure that your tattoo is done right. AND, April has this awesome homemade aftercare that she sends you home with. Way better than regular unscented lotion. April did matching peach tattoos for my boyfriend and I, and they came out beyond perfect!! She has since then done a honey bee thigh piece for me and a sewing machine on my arm. My experience with Savage was by far the best that I've had with any shop that I have visited. The vibe is laid back and welcoming. The people and customer service are amazing. They are all very knowledgeable and treat everyone like a long time friend. I have been in many shops searching for the right artists and vibe with no success. Whether it be the artist was just downright cocky and act as though you were an inconvenience or the shop would just seem to be willing to do any piece just for the money. Savage was nothing like that. I highly recommend their shop and artists. The sleeve that Jroo started is already turning into the masterpiece that I was searching for. I have several tattoos and have been to a lot of different tattoo shops.  This one feels different in the fact that I have never been with an artist for 30 mins talking just about what my vision is for my new art piece.  The artist that I worked with is Kira Teter and she is simply wonderful.  I have been following Savage Tattoo for sometime online and finally made the decision to have a consultation on what I wanted.  I knew that the piece needed to be a work of art and done by someone that had a clear vision and I could easily connect with.  After 5 mins with Kira, all of those requirements were met and then some. Although, I do not actually get my tattoo done until October, I know that what she will design for me will be amazing.  I have seen her work on other people and she is truly an artist on paper and skin. I am way excited and cannot wait to have the opportunity to share with the yelp community the finished product.  It is important to understand that if you are looking for a cheap tattoo, this is not the shop for you.  The artists take the time to understand your needs, make sure that it is a fit for the customer and the artist, and hold to a very high standard. I suppose scheduling was the problem, I had a consultation set up with Jroo for today at 7:30 am, I also repeated the time and date to confirm that 7:30 AM on Thursday was correct, only to show up and find out the shop hours are early afternoon..... I arrived a little early, waited about 15 minuets, called the shop number with an attempt to contact incase I was forgotten about, or actually not really scheduled.... First impressions can be everything, especially when they cla...im professionalism as a business and they strive to work towards good relationships with clientele. Seemed like a good shop to get my first tattoo from, too bad that this experience became disappointing for me since this shop had a good rating and that a majority of people have had a great experience. Savage has a brilliantly talented staff and great hours. Their space is inviting and tasteful with great lighting. You'll likely have to wait to get in (I was six weeks out from my consult), but it will be worth if if the quality of your new permanent decoration(s) matters to you. It does me, and I couldn't be happier with Kira Teter's work. She is the best fine line, decorative, ornamental and sacred geometry worker in Utah. I've looked. I spent almost two years looking for ideas and the right artist. I let her design a matching cuff set for me based off her reactions to a bunch of ink I found and liked on Instagram and the first one just went on my right forearm. I was excited to have a consult at this shop because they claim to have the best artists. I got a call for a free consult and Brandon said Tyson was perfect for a detailed realistic piece but when I arrived I felt sort of duped. Tyson was sooo friendly but had no physical portfolio, his work wasn't anywhere on their website and I couldn't see anything but a few pics on his phone which weren't realistic at all. I immediately felt uneasy about the lack of photos and from what I saw it didn't look like work you'd expect for 125$hourly. I'm sure he had better work than what I was able to see and I wish I could have seen more. If you're trying to promote this artist please list his portfolio on your website. My journey at this shop started in October of 2016.  I met with Tyson who agreed to cover up some previous art work and turn that mess into a full sleeve on my left arm.  He started with a touch up of an existing tattoo on my bicep to get the ball rolling.  Once we had our price point set, it was continuous visits every two weeks or so until completion.  Every time I have stepped into this place, it has been clean, welcoming and professional. I'm talking about....smelling good, organized and the whole crew saying "Hello" each and every time.  My work by Tyson is clean and looks freaking amazing.  I gave my artist free reign over my sleeve, and he did not disappoint in the least! I highly recommend anyone to get inked at this spot.  Also, if you want to get your work done in a relaxing environment, then this is your spot! Ask for Tyson or any of the other great artists.. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Kira is a tattoo goddess. I was so impressed with my entire experience. The shop, all of the artist there and of course, Kira! She is so amazing. She made my tattoo dreams a reality. I had an image, and she brought it to life more beautifully than I could have ever imagined. She took care of me by being able to mash all my reference pictures together, making my vision a reality, making sure I was comfortable, going above and being and just truly being a friend and a complete professional! I have no complaints, I would recommend any friends and family to come here. I wasn't skeptical at all, nor did I have any doubts during the process. It was all smooth sailing, and the outcome was gorgeous. Not only is Kira an extraordinary artist, but she is also a very beautiful and genuine soul.
