I spent a lot of time planning my tattoo -- years actually. As a birthday gift to myself, it was important to me that I get exactly what I wanted. Tuan did it. Not only is the design and execution exactly what I wanted, he and Ash (another artist in the shop that day) were so nice! I've had a tattoo before by someone I didn't like but whose work I admired. David came upfront, helped me out, and gave me a rough idea how much im going to spend in the whole project. set up a date and the rest was history. It took us 3 sessions to finish everything and i am impressed on the detail and work he put on my tattoo. On top of that, here are some Information i thnk is vital if you are trying to gauge in getting a tattoo here: *Due to many factors, they don’t give a price qoute through the phone. Drop by and I’m sure you’ll get a qoute. *This place is CASH ONLY. *they do not do piercings. *from what It seems, every single artist that work here have their own specialty. Ask away and they will point you to an artist specializing in what you want. *they do accept walk-ins but it depends on how busy thry get. if you are trying to get something big, you are most likely going to have to schedule for your sessions. I might be forgetting some things but that’s pretty much it. Remember tattoos are going to be a part of you for a very long time. So i think it is given that you invest in it. Got this tattoo done A couple months ago by AJ please for the love of God do not get it any type of tree tattoos from him he does not know how to do good nature tattoos I was extremely disappointed with one the customer service I received after the fact that I did not like the tattoo and two as an artist ! Who ithought would be be a perfectionist did a horrible job with detail. Completely rushed the tattoo as you can see in the picture horrible lines, trees deformed , I was ashamed and embarrassed to have this tattoo on my body . thank you God I was able to cover it up by a true artist please i repeat again do not waste your money or time with this guy and also I talked to him about seeing if I was able to get the tattoo fixed and he wanted me to pay for the mistake that he committed to fix my tattoo again extremely disappointed with him the shop and the owner please stay away ! At first I was impressed w the tattoos that I asked for but after a month they were grainy and shitty because of their poor utensils used. I came back trying to get another tattoo to only find out that their staff was more rude than I have ever seen. Including talking crap about their past clients. They also charge out the ass for their tattoos. I would not recommend to ever go here for anyone. Go to human canvas where they are more nice and better prices Read Less

Ambience: the shop is a bit small, and it was pretty crowded when we arrived. It was chill though. There are displays all around the shop and I thought that was pretty neat. Just seemed like a place that you would feel comfortable in.What did I get: one of my buddies wanted to get a Bible verse tatted on his arm. It was going to be his first tattoo. Customer service: staff was very nice and will help you go over what you want and explain the process to you. Overall: it's a very nice place, but the lobby is very small. Usually if you don't have an appointment, you can walk in, and depending on how busy it I, they will ask for your number, ask your availability, and give you a call or text whenever they are ready for you.Comments: definitely go and see if you can make an appointment because walk-in wait time is usually more than an hour considering there's an Air Force Base nearby and all the Airmen want to get tatted :P Read Less

My mom and I had a tattoo done by Ash today. We were both extremely pleased with the experience. A few weeks ago, we had tried to get this tattoo done at another tattoo shop in town (not going to name names) where we had to wait for three hours for a walk-in. Now that's understandable, they were busy, but they originally told us 30 minutes and asked us to sit down and wait. About an hour and a half later, a different artist than the one we had already talked to came over to d...raw up our tattoo. It was totally different from what we asked for, but we were just going to roll with it. That was the last time we were spoken to. Three hours after we were told 30 minutes, we just had to walk out, feeling put-off, let-down, and honestly a little disrespected as customers. However, today was totally different. We immediately felt at home in the shop, like the artists genuinely cared about us and our business. During the actual tattooing, we were able to sit together and chat. Ash and Tuan (who was also in the room) were lighthearted and joking, which made it a fun experience. We were both happy with the tattoo. The shading is beautiful and the colors are bright.The tattoo means a lot to us, and we're thankful we could trust these guys with it. We both plan to come back for our next tattoos. The single best tattoo experience of my life. I personally have 4 others, all of which I like but they pale in comparison with this one. Tuan did an amazing job I was completely comfortable the entire session and I will never go anywhere else. Everyone who has seen it have done nothing but raved how on point it is and how Tuan captured only my dog Zoe's likeness but her personality through the perfect detail!! 5 stars is not enough!! This is my second tattoo done at cowabunga and I am in love. Ash is a really great artist and all the guys that work there are super nice and funny. My daughter booked an appt for her and I to get tattoos together for my birthday. Our artist, Ash did a great job, worked on the drawing until everyone was completely satisfied, made a few suggestions that made the work perfect. It wasn't a huge piece, just something meaningful to my daughter and I. It's nice to see someone really care how something is going to turn out, not just crank out whatever you bring in. My other daughter came in to see me get my first tattoo and he worked her in to do a memorial piece as well. These guys!! I had an ugly ugly ugly portrait of my dog on my thigh and I didn't think it could be completely fixed but AJ Kappes is amazing and even without the original photo he made it beautiful. I'm ready for shorts season to show it off. They are all nice and they will make you laugh. Most shops have rude artists but these guys are great. If you are considering a shop, Cowabunga is your best bet. If you go anywhere else (like I did originally) you will regret it! Thanks again, AJ!! Read Less
