Customer service sucked. The artist that was going to do all our tattoos wouldnt even come to the front to talk, he kept sending his messenger back and forth. We walked in yesterday to have my nose pierced. The place was very clean and the price was reasonable. Mike did my piercing. He was fast, professional, and very experienced. You can tell he knows what he's doing. He answered all my questions and talked me through the whole process. I love it that he actually took his time making sure the placement is right. I honestly thought it was going to hurt but now it's the least painful out of all the piercings I've had. The whole process was fast and the overall experience was just great. I could not more strongly recommend that you avoid this location.  I have 7 tattoos, I really like six of them.  I have one from this studio that consists of 20 letters.  None of the letters match.  The letters are squished, some lines are blown out, some lines fell out, and some have random bobbles in them.  I assure you that I can sit for a tattoo; my other tattoos have immaculate lines.  The other tattoo artists point out the flaws of how this one was applied.  I regret going to this location and encourage everyone to avoid it.  Don't make the mistake I made and think anyone can do simple typewriter font.  If they can't get that right, what will they do with something complicated? This review is overdue, but I had gotten a bad tattoo a few years ago from the artist who never told me his name. He charged me Way too much for a tattoo that was super rushed, poorly shaded, not even the same colors. And the lines are seriously bad. I do not recommend going here. Read Less

I walked in without an appointment on a Friday night and requested a septum piercing. Donnie greeted me and was friendly, professional, and skilled at completing the piercing. This is the third time I've had my septum pierced and this was by far the least painful, smoothest, and quickest experience I've had. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable. i had been wanting a tattoo for some time and decided that now (for personal reasons) was Right. Did my research and looked at a couple of recommended places but they didn't feel right. Went into Hold Fast and spoke to Donnie. So knowledgable and explained all I needed to make a choice about my design. Donnie tattooed the sloppiest line work of a basic piece on me last night. I'm so upset as I've debated this tattoo since February, and trusted him to ink me over Main Street or Weathered Helm. He refused to do the line work in a different color stating, "No, you cannot do that, it will be too dark..." But then tattooed the lines in black anyway? I'm no tattoo artist but that makes no sense. I've had GREAT experiences with Sam Brown at Hold Fast, and would give him 5+ stars- but unfortunately, I'm forced to give one (zero if it was an option) as a highly unsatisfied client of Donnie's. So here's the deal. I've always been told to go to You Pick It, We Stick It in the Pasadena area. So when my friends wanted tattoos, that's where we'd go. UNTIL the guy tried to give us some ridiculous price for a tattoo so easy a toddler could do it. That's when we found Hold Fast. The first thing I noticed is that everything is super clean. And it doesn't smell like old cigarettes or weed (You Pick It, I'm looking at you). The next thing is, everyone was super nice and helpful (and not high...). Then Donnie, the artist for the evening, gave us a price that made everyone happy. He was clean, efficient, and super helpful. Fast forward a few weeks and I decided I wanted a second lobe piercing. Piercings give me super anxiety (which is why I didn't get the first one until this past August). Donnie, again, helped me out. He was very calm and talked me through it. Fast forward a month later. So I couldn't figure out how to get the earrings off..... Hold Fast does free jewelry replacement if you got pierced with them. So I grabbed my studs and marched right over to Hold Fast. Robert changed my earrings for me and was super cool and didn't judge me for my lack of competence. All in all, my favorite place for tattoos and piercings. If you go anywhere else, you're wrong. Steve, the so called owner, is very unprofessional. You will wait three hours after your appointment before he starts working on you. Then he gives you a horrible tattoo.
