Me and a friend came here to get our first tattoos together. It was a great experience! Our artist, Tommy, was super cool and made us feel very comfortable. We each got a small tattoo done by him, and they both turned out great. It was late and nobody else was there so he even asked us what netflix show we wanted to watch. Super nice guy! Read Less

Second visit here. Artist today is Christian Byer and he did tattoos on both me and my sister. He has a great steady hand and was fun to talk to. Prices are decent, gotta pay good money to get a good tattoo. I'm definitely happy we picked this spot to get sister tattoos. Walk ins are accepted, but I suggest making an appointment as when we tried to come yesterday they were all booked up and we had to make an appointment for today. The place has a fun ambiance and staff are pretty cheery and easy to talk to. Definitely a better experience today than the first time I came about 4 years ago or so. I'll definitely be back. This place doesn't even deserve one star. For starters our artist (Chris) was an hour late to our appointment, which he didn't even apologize for. The customer service was unbelievably terrible. We were giving him good business, we wanted 4 easy tattoos but apparently it was just too much for him to handle. As far as his work goes; we waited 2 hours and all of the tattoos had huge flaws. One of the tattoos the flower was upside down, the other the words were ridiculously crooked, and the other he had a hard time accepting the fact that we wanted to add a tiny "&" sign. As far as the crooked words go, knowing this was her first tattoo he his exact words were "It's just a tattoo, no one is going to look at it closely enough to realize the words are crooked." I have to knock off a star from my review of Epic 13. They were a 4 star review, now only 3 stars because Paul, the owner and only piercing guy, didn't reply to my last email about what I had thought was an infection (it's not but I had to go elsewhere to find out because he is in general difficult to get in touch with)... That's not intended to detract from my original review below, however because Jimbo is fantastic. I came into Epic 13 on a recommendation from a friend bec...ause I wanted some coloring work done on some preexisting tattoos. I talked to Jimbo, who is just awesome. He explained that the 2 tattoos I have on my arms now are both backwards (heads should face the front of your body, and apparently 2 other "artists" weren't aware of that) Anyway, so my original coloring job expanded to a cover up. No big deal. I explained what I wanted and Jimbo got to work (by hand, mind you!) sketching up a new Hulk for me. When it was done, I was super impressed, but it was too big for my skinny arms, so I decided to leave my arm work alone for now and have him put this hulk on my back. I scheduled it for a couple of weeks later, paid the $60 deposit and went on my merry way. I came back on the day of, and got the outline and shading done, but unfortunately he didn't have the time to get it colored that night because I moved around too much (I forgot to take my pain killers beforehand lol) So I decided to let the outline heal completely and get a friend of mine tattooed first. She's in love with her bleeding heart that he drew up for her, and later tattooed onto her, by the way. Anyway, the coloring work was done a couple of months later, at the end of July (and yes I took my pain killers -- it went much faster, he was done coloring in within an hour and a half when he had estimated it at 3 hours) I couldn't be happier with the work Jimbo has done so far and look forward to coming back in the future to get more work done by him. I wish I could say the same for Paul but he seems to have better things to do than hang around his own shop or respond to customer concerns about infections. :-( See More Read Less

Got my tattoo done here about a year ago andd the guy stopped midway because his food was delivered. The lettering on my tattoo was too thick . When i mentioned it to the guy he said it was because it wasnt healed yet . I waited for it to heal and nothing changed. Horrible place. Don't recommend it! Read Less

I went in to get my tongue repierced.  I have had it repierced 2 times before at a different place with minimal to no blood. When I first came in to epic 13 I got a shitty greeting.  I got the clipboard and pen thrown on the counter for me to pick up and fill out.  Then I was taken to back, where he (not sure his name) started the process of my piercing. There is already a scar of where my tongue piercing was before and that is where i wanted it again.  The guy tried marking it with his sharpie but for some reason was having a hard time. He then proceeded to do my piercing and he pierced at a angle! I started to bleed alot. He blamed me saying my tongue was moving to much, even though his hand where shaking a lot while he did my piercing. He asked if I wanted to try again, i said yes because it's at a angle! So he pierced me again, and it was still messed up! And i was bleeding A LOT! I was ready to leave, he still charged me full price! The worst experience ever, overpriced, rude. I have never had this much problems with a piercing and I have never bled that much with one either. Definitely do not recommend this place, ever. Read Less

Jimbo did my first tattoo and it was a great experience. He was very nice on the phone and answered all of my questions. I went to a place before that and they were extremely rude to me. Jimbo explained why the original tattoo I wanted on my finger would be a bad idea. He then taught me about the different inks and a better placement for me. I did not want black ink. I ended up with exactly what I had envisioned on my wrist. He is also extremely knowledgeable about geography, which was great for me bc I got a world map tattoo! I was extremely nervous about the tools being sanitary and not getting an infection. He showed me how everything is very clean and sterile. The guy was super rude and he didn't give my boyfriend what he wanted. Anytime we would suggest a tattoo idea he would say that it was a terrible idea. THEN when they finally came to an agreement he ended up doing what HE wanted and not what my boyfriend had wanted. He didn't tell us what he was doing until he was done and now my boyfriend hates the tattoo. We were super specific on what he wanted and he disregarded the whole thing. Highly recommend Epic 13 Tattoo for its awesome customer service, friendliness, cleanliness, and awesome tattoo!!! I came in earlier in the week to give Tommy (who's the bomb and super super talented) my ideas of what I wanted to have done. I came in, he sketched the tattoo right on my back and began tattooing. For an ałmost 4 hour tattoo, I wasn't in pain...it was very relaxing and Tommy always checked to see how I was doing. I almost dozed off to sleep lol. I will definitely be back! Love the work I got done here. My gf, myself and her sister got a tattoo all done by Gerald. AMAZING art and work. I knew what I wanted in my mind but didn't know how to piece it together on paper and to explain it. Told "G" what I was looking for and what kind of style I was leaning towards and just like that 10 minutes later he drew it out better than I pictured in my mind. I went here to get my nose pierced about a year ago and although the man who did it was very nice, I bled A LOT. I later put in a new ring from Spencer's and when I was sleeping it fell out so I took a trip to New York city and decided to get it redone on the other side because I missed having my nose pierced. It didn't bleed like it did at Epic 13. A little less than 2 weeks ago, my best friend of 8 years came in to get my initials tattooed on her butt (a little strange yes) but when we walked in, they were all just sitting around watching TV and didn't even acknowledge us. Then they went on to make rude comments and make us feel like we shouldn't be there. The artists asked us if she had lost a bet to get this tattooed on her. The shop is very clean though it is just the employees. I am most likely not going here again. I recommend going to Old Crow Parlor in Midtown if you would like friendly service and a great tattoo. Great experience all together, clean shop, great price and Blake. He went over his ideas to integrate with my own for a great work of art.
