We were greeted by Jess before even walking in to the store, total sweetie that girl. On a Friday night that looked pretty busy, (we were walk-ins!) we waited a very reasonable amount of time. Jess did An amazing job on my tattoo, and at a great price! I requested a personalized version of a Harry potter and Zelda mix. Not only did she do a really good job, but she was really sweet and enjoyable to talk to. Skin stories is full of disappointment and terrible customer service. The main artist, Elijah, boast about his award winning work, but then only copies and paste a lot of other people's work in front of you. Between me and other friends he has rescheduled about 6 times and threatens his clients. If you want to go here I'd pick a different artist, or just be aware you might get rescheduled 20 times before you get inked. Read Less

My boyfriend and I were sitting on the couch last night (1/27/18) and decided to go get a spontaneous tattoo (not matching). After receiving horrible basic customer service at a different shop we stumbled upon skin stories. Walking up we were greeted by 3 employees Jess, Renee and Katie, loved the energy immediately. After talking about ideas for a tattoo and checking out each artist portfolios he went with Renee and I went with Jess (don't worry we loved Katie too, she's a piercer and we were there for just tattoos). I wanted a joint smoking alien and told Jess to do whatever she wanted. Colors, drawing, etc. I LOVE how it turned out. The boyfriend loves his too! Both artists were fantastic! I got my belly button pierced there and it was great, the guy that did it was so patient and sweet, it was fast and didn't hurt at all, second time I went I got my septum done, the guy that did it was super rude, the entire time I was there he was making rude comments about my culture and me crossing the border and what not, when it came to do my piercing he messed up and even apologized by saying "hey I know I have been a dick this entire time and I'm sorry but the ring got stuck with your nose and I'm going to ether have to pierce it again with a bigger needle or you might have to come back"; after having my head looking up for a good minute I stared getting light headed, and he got one of my friends to get my a soda that he also didn't want to pay for, and he was the one that had made the mistake, I desired to still get the piercing and go with the bigger needle since I knew there was no way he would give me my money back; third time I went was why my ex fiancé to ask few questions about tattoos, there was a bold guy that was just shutting down all my ideas and requests, I was telling him what I WANTED to get and where and he was just making fun of my requests telling me to just tattoo my butthole instead, he was making fun of me the entire time and seemed like he didn't want to do it, all I wanted was to get 4 small letters on the side on my rib cage and he was being an ass the entire time, when I asked for the price he said 60$ when last time I had stoped by some other guy had said 40$ since the letters were pretty small, I ended up leaving an never going back, the two last time I had been there were super uncomfortable and disrespectful, I hate it there!!! Wish I could give them way more stars!!!! I did lots of research trying to find the best place to get my 7 year old daughter's ears pierced and I can say without a doubt there is No better place than here with KT piercing!!!!!She was absolutely fantastic! She explained everything thoroughly, she took her time, was precise, great with a 7 year old and made the whole process super easy and fun. I have been to several different tattoo parlors, but have never felt like I had a specific tattoo artist. That changed when Christian was recommended to me. His attention to detail is simply amazing, and he is so willing to listen to what you want, and somehow make it even better than you pictured in your mind. There's a good amount of negative reviews on this site about their experience at skin stories. Maybe you should take that stick out of your rear and lighten up, because this is the only shop I trust with my body art. Elijah was very intuitive and did an amazing job with my first piece a year ago, and for the quality and price of the piece, I could not be happier, not to mention he waived the stencil fee. Look into Elijah's credentials and you'll see the passion he puts into his work and the many successful pieces he's completed. Not to mention I've gotten both my ears pierced at skin stories, and they both healed just fine. Walked in and the guy at the front counter was playing a video game....he couldn't be bothered to make eye contact....asked If he could help me and kept playing....I asked about getting a small tattoo on the back of my forearm.....already had a picture...seemed to me a fairly simple traditional tattoo....he barely glanced at it and continued playing his game....then quoted me $200 maybe a little more to draw....this is not my first rodeo...have many tattoos....felt that price was a complete rip off for what I wanted....if I could give zero stars for customer service I would....needless to say I won't be back to give a review on their work.....they really blew it with me....how rude Read Less

Tried to charge me $100 for a tattoo not even an inch long, it was one simple flower, no color or anything, I told him BEFORE I GOT THERE, I only had $60 (I had more but refused to pay more for it) and he said that's fine, when I left I received a text from him saying "this bitch only paid $60 and didn't fucking tip" so I told him consider a $40 tattoo with a $20 tip. Was referred to Elijah by a co worker. Called him to come in for a consult, got there and he seemed like he could finish a piece I had started. Came back for an appointment. He didn't like how my previous work was done so wanted to up date it while doing the new stuff I asked for. Told him I wanted to spend $400 and he was good with that. Drew his piece (said he charged a $50-100 drawing fee) looked good, talked about doing watercolor. Made me straddle a straight metal framed chair for 3 hours, watched his Netflix show and talked about the show with his coworker the whole time. Half way through my boyfriend came in and asked about some work for him and how much he charged, Elijah told him $200 an hour with a 2 hour min. When he was done he charged me $500, didn't even finish what he had drawn and said he has 3 more hours worth of work for another $500. On top of that he added stuff that wasn't talked about and over shadowed a older tattoo that will have to be redone. And didn't do watercolor, from what another artist can tell. Total *0* stars, If that was an option.  In 2013(I believe, possibly very beginning of 2014) My boyfriend and I both got matching tattoos here, no names or hearts ehhhh never! We got "The Lord's Prayer " on our forearms and it is very unfortunate that the word 'Temp"T"ation' he couldn't spell the word or maybe he pronounces wrong, not sure but now I have it INKED on my arm as 'Tem"P"ation.  Yea, my boyfriend noticed his was incorrect when we got into the car and was almost to our destination.  So, I checked mine...  Yep!   My advice, or any wording going forward from that day, I have and will do a full on spelling check.  I wasn't worried because I pulled the prayer up on the computer, for him to go by?  So I was more focused on size(long prayer when you put it on a place. Forearm and I am female but working it down to size ended up taking a few tries and the font, making sure the letters had enough space, yada yada yada...  The tattoo is, I actually love it and I was full satisfied and I would rate them a 3/4 stars(wife, child, phone calls, rides to work, etc etc... yeah, that is why I say 3 ehh maybe 4) However, shop was clean.  His station was clean.   I wanted to go back so bad.  I was infuriated and cursing and everything... I wanted our money back BOTTOM LINE.  My boyfriend, he was just like not irate like me and was like: Its inked, nothing we can do now, blah blah blah. I don't tell anyone, in showing I have had some people point it out, which thats brings the red*** back because there is no fixing it.  To this day though, since I can see it, just in general the tattoo its self. I really wish, I would have gone back, on my own and talked to the owner. I decided on this place because  a co-worker went there and got tattooed by Jeff. Her tattoo was very simple and plane and didn't look too bad so me and my sister both went for ours. We didn't get Jeff but we did get Chopper. The only other one available.  He seemed nice. My sister went first, it looked fine. Then I went. I was happy at first bc it looked new and fresh. After it healed we needed touch ups. This time he was in a terrible mood and was very rude. Asked us to come back in 2 hours bc he was going to tattoo someone ahead of us.  Said he would call. Well he never did so we drove back and he wasn't tattooing anyone. So we walked in and he touched up our tattoos. Then, about a week or more later i noticed a couple other spots that needed touch ups bad. So i called and he said they dont do touch ups on weekends. So i went back during the week, just showed up bc i figured he would tell me not to come in, and he was rude again. Made comments about it being my second time getting touched up and that it was my fault the lines were faded and missing. Even though it wasnt. I have  6 tattoos, i know how to take care of them. When i pointed out lines i wanted fixed he argued and said its supposed to look like that. It looked fine to him. Its my tattoo, on my body so its his job to fix it. Then he made more rude comments about how i just had to have it perfect. So after he was done "fixing it" i looked and he turned the cursive letter B into an L and went over lines i didn't even ask him to. He also told me my friend couldnt come back with me even though other clients were sitting back there with their friends. I got this tattoo in a visible spot trusting that it would be attractive and not embarrassing! I hope that before anyone goes here they think twice. There's nothing better than a nice CLEAN tattoo shop!!! So my daughter, 14, asked to have a barbell pierced through her cartilage at the top of her earlobe. My husband & I agreed & since it was one of her Christmas gifts, I looked up places in my area & ran across Skin Stories Tat2. I called at 12:40am & the guy said that although he was closing up, he would wait for us to get there & give me a $10 discount. Sooo my daughter, son, & myself rushed on down. We walked in & the shop was very clean & well organized. Our piercer was awesome!!! Other places were hassling me BC my daughter is black & I am white so they assumed I was just bringing someone else's kid in. I showed my tax papers with my daughter's name & her volleyball brochure & there was no problem at all. He took us on back, made my daughter feel very comfortable, after all....she is a big baby lol, & before we knew it....bada boom, bada bing!!! Her barbell was in there!!! I'm a tattoo & piercing addict!!! I have removed all piercings that I got over the past ten years so I thought, well, I'm here, why not get right under my bottom lip pierced. After waiting 2 years to get my husbands ok, he called & said, Go ahead!!! YAY!!! FINALLY!!!I really like the guy that did our piercing!!!
