Went today to get my lip pierced and the really short blond lady on the front counter (which was sadly my piercer aswell) was extremely RUDE from the beginning, she rushed through my piercing and now that I look at it well it's not proportioned at all. I highly recommend others to go some place else where you'll feel welcomed and comfortable, and of course do a much better job than this lady, supper unprofessional and awful customer service. The tattoo artist "Bob" wanted to charge me $60/ea for two small finger tattoos in just black; when they are supposedly having a $20 tattoo special this weekend. I've had 4 other tattoos done there, 2 being finger tattoos, but after wanting me to pay $120 for two tiny words (perfectly imperfect) in just black...yeah, never again will I go there or recommend them. Came for the Friday the 13th special, paid the weekend of the 13th and was told I could come in and have the tattoos done anytime in the next month. What a deallll. I had paid ahead for two small tattoos but the day I went in to have them done, the artist really hooked me up on my second tattoo. The reference page I showed her had two characters on it and I'd initially only intended to get one at the moment and the second some time in the future. She offered to go ahead and knock both out at the prepaid price and all my tattoos came out super cute. Planning a couple pieces I'd like done in the future, I'd super recommend her. DO NOT go for piercings. My sister and I both went to get our septums pierced. It was great while we were there getting the piercings done. The 2 working were friendly and great. The piercing was sideways though on both of ours.We went back to show how side ways it was. My sister had taken her piercing out because it couldn't stay in place and was hurting like he pierced the cartilage itself. One of them comes out talking about a previous customer in front of us calling her a "bitch" and a "cunt" which definitely shocked us. After a lot of thought we decided to go to a different piercer. I called to see if we could get our money back or exchange for some jewelry. I was told no and then he starts telling me I took it out too early and he told us it was swelling and not to take it out that early, when he never did. I'm trying to just talk to him and explain my side but he keeps talking over me and gets rude with me when I ask if I can finish a sentence. So he says "No, because I don't want to talk to you." and hangs up on me. Piercings done wrong and social skills definitely need work. Read Less

I visited their booth at the Slinging Ink Tattoo Expo and chose them to get my new work done.  Initially I wanted a color Yin Yang, but we just couldn't come to a understanding on that, so I went to my alternate: Spurs logo. I wanted it on my calf and wanted it a specific way, which they were able to do. For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the girl who did my tat, but I know she was blonde. She is not on their website, so I cannot recommend her. But she was great. Considering the chaos that is the Tattoo Expo, she was able to do a great job with what I wanted and was very friendly while doing it. And the price was fair, $200. I went in for a friday the 13th special and was forewarned about the wait before hand. So when i got there we had great costumer service and was i formed its be about a 2-4 hour wait but they would try to squeeze us in if someone didnt show up. Right after that they changed the way they were seeing people so we ended up waiting close to 6 hours. The planning was poor for this event midway through the day they changed the way they were seeing people ending up in a longer wait. The customer service was poor, nothing was explained to us on how the systme worked we had to listen in on there side conversations to get biys and pieces of how the system worked. Read Less

There store hours said that they opened at 9:30am. I was a walk-in wanting a simple tattoo. I arrived at 11:15a and was told the tattoo artist wouldn't arrive until 12 or 12:30pm. I was told he'd be available to do my tattoo as soon as he arrived. At 12:30 I checked back in. They tried calling the guy. Eventually he got back to them and they seemed confused as to if he was arriving in 20 mins or an hour. I told them I wasn't going to wait 20 mins if he's an hour away since I had already been waiting since 11:15am. They called him back and he told them he wouldn't be arriving for another hour and a half. Frustrating experience. Very unorganized shop. Read Less

I did not receive a tattoo or piercing here (and you'll see why below).I heard about this place from a girl I ran into at Claire's who was covered in sweet tattoos. She recommended I try out Xtreme.I called on a Sunday afternoon and spoke with Redd who seemed as though he could care less for my business. I asked about a couple of the artists I had seen online, as their portfolio and work looked promising and exactly what I was after. He convinced me to book with him that afternoon, as neither of the other artists were available, and I asked about his portfolio. He said, "I have some pictures here." Okay...well...that's not helpful, but I'll give you a shot.So, I show up that afternoon ready to get my tattoo, or at least talk with Redd to see some of his work. He was in the middle of a huge tattoo, and I was informed that he "doesn't know how to book" and had forgotten to put me in his schedule. When I went to the back, all he said was, "I have another booking after this; it'll be like two more hours....but you can wait if you want."Um, no.I'm sorry, I realize that as a tattoo shop your customer service doesn't need to be as top notch as some finer establishments, and I also realize that people come to you rather than you trying to "sell" them anything, but c'mon. You could honor appointments, learn how to book properly, or at least learn how to handle customers on the phone.On top of that, when I asked about making an appointment with the other artist I had seen, the girl at the front of the store gave me the artist's facebook and told me to contact her directly through FB as she didn't "have a book" to schedule me in. I went to Xtreme yesterday to get my snakebites (double lip piercing) redone. I had a a few concerns, all of which my piercer Zac was able to help me with. From the moment I told him what I wanted, he was absolutely the most helpful person I'd ever spoken to. He reminded me of all the aftercare instructions before he did the piercing, which was helpful. There are products in the shop that you can buy to help with this, such as H2Ocean. There is no excuse for not following a proper aftercare routine with the knowledge and available products that this shop provides to you. Besides being super helpful, he's also just a really cool guy. It turns out we have a lot of interests in common which made me feel a lot more at ease.I asked him about getting longer bars for the initial jewelry because of my experience with swelling from the last time. He gave me the longest starter labrets he had on hand, 13mm, and said to come back if I needed a longer one since they carry them in the store portion of the shop. He said if I did need to do this, he would first sterilize the jewelry in the autoclave. This reassured me that he 100% cared about my safety, not just while he was piercing me but for as long as I have the piercings. You can tell he takes pride in what he does. (Side note: NEVER get pierced in a shop that doesn't have an autoclave. If you decide to go to a shop other than Xtreme, please make sure that they're using an autoclave to sterilize their equipment.)Getting pierced was more or less what I expected based on my first experience. I will say that it hurt much worse because of the scar tissue I had from the previous piercings, but it had nothing to do with his technique. He was very professional at all times. He was VERY thorough in making sure that the piercings would be as symmetric as possible. When he was marking my lip for placement, he noticed immediately that one of my previous piercings was a tiny bit higher than the other. That was something that had always bothered me, and I was so glad that he noticed (and that I wasn't crazy for thinking they were uneven before). The placement we ended up going with was perfect. It's not too high or too low, and even through the swelling they seem even. I could not be happier with how they turned out.Cost was about the same as other shops I'd been to or looked into. Snakebites cost me $60 since it's technically two piercings. More than worth it for the quality of the service I received. Any issues with my piercings are now completely on me. For as long as I live in San Antonio, Zac is the only piercer I will go to. I'm sure the other piercers at Xtreme are just as awesome, but he won me over first. I definitely recommend seeing him specifically if you can. Just call the shop to see when he'll be in. Even if you can't get pierced by Zac, check out Xtreme anyway and see if it's a good fit for you. :) Read Less

My daughter got her nose re-pierced yesterday by Shooby(sp?). He did a great job. I love how he explained everything beforehand and answered all of my daughter's questions. Afterwards, he told her too monitor it because re-piercings can be tricky, especially when you have a lot of scar tissue. As a matter of fact, he would not have done the procedure if she did. That tells me he cares about the customer and the work he does on them, not just making a quick buck. He even gave us a discount because we had to wait a little bit. We didn't complain or anything but he offered out of the kindness of his heart. We'll definitely go back again. Read Less

I just got my ears pierced at this shop and I have to say they are serious about cleanliness and safety regrading bacteria and cross contamination in the process of piercing. I was very comfortable with how I was treated and the level of respect to the care of my body that was performed! I got my nose and triple forward helix pierced here. When I walked in, the girl at the front was eating, which I thought was very unprofessional. Especially for a place that does body mods. Both my piercings got infected. And when the guy pierced my nose, he didn't seem to know what he was doing and didn't give me any aftercare instructions. I ended up removing my nose ring after a while of struggling with it, and I am going to get it re-pierced somewhere else. I don't recommend this place. Read Less
