Quick and awesome first time experience!!! There was no down payment for me, I paid after work was done...I think it all depends on how big your art work is and if your serious about it. I wanted mine same day and got it the same day! Thanks to Monster Ink! I didn't have to run around to different Tattoo places to get a quote and do it on the spot! Very respectful, understanding, and patient people. I went originally to Buddha Box, but didn't really give me a quote and didn't really seem interested in doing the tattoo I wanted, they said they would customized it depending on the artist, which is not what I wanted since it's my body, also was saying it might be in stages, have to do outline then come back to do the shading, etc. etc. I went to Monster Ink got the tattoo I wanted and left less than 2hrs! I haven't had any work done in a few years but when I did frequent this shop I've always had very good service. The artist tony does awesome work I highly recommend him, I can't speak for any other person working there. My only issue when I would go to get some work done was when the artist and I would get the piece finalized and the price for the work in order more than a few times some guy would pop in and ask me what I was getting, if I was gonna do color, how big of the piece, where was I getting it and so on. So I told the artist who was that guy and why was he asking me so meny questions about the work, he asked which guy so I pointed him out, and the artist told me that he was the owner. So we get started and during the session the same guy popped back in and asked to speak to the artist, so they leave the room a few minutes later the tattoo artist came back in and continued his work. I ask what was going on and he told me he and the owner got into a disagreement because the owner wanted him to bump up the cost of the tattoo and he told him that he and I already discussed the price. Since this took place I haven't had any more work done at this shop or at all I really like tony's work but the manager is unprofessional for undermining the artist and making the customer uncomfortable, keep in mind this happened to me quite a few times. I wasn't getting special pricing I paid what was fair for the work I received maybe a little more but like I said tony kicks ass and if you go for some work speak to him.... hopefully the manager/owner won't be there to fuck up your experience. GREAT PLACE ! The atmosphere fit the name Monster Ink. A lot of Frankenstein and monster paintings from artists all over the walls. The artists were really attentive on what you wanted, making sure they understood what you wanted so they could draw it to perfection. Even when they got the annoying customers who weren't sure what they wanted, they were professional and even gave suggestions. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is great. I got my second tattoo on my wrist , hurt like crazy but it was so worth it ! The artist was so great and professional. Totally recommend! Good job Monster Ink ! I'd spent a couple months looking for a reputable piercing place like I had back home and an acquaintance said to check this out. I went around 330pm on a Saturday and they had no idea where their pieces was. They had to call him and he showed up 40 min later. He seemed ok, so I asked him about changing my microdermal. I explained it would be my first time exchanging the jewel since I had it pierced in Nashville 5 months earlier. He assured me he had the correct jewelry. He had this wierd skinny metal thing but when he tried get the piercing off, he was jerking, twisting and tugging so bad I thought I was going to be sick. He finally puts the new piercing on and said "the original piercer used a microdermal and should have used a dermal. I had to try to turn it more to try to line it up" It was crooked and stood up..my cheek was so red. I was beyond frustrated and in pain. I told him I had a microdermal to begin with and he outs some cheap looking dermal on it, then bad mouths another piercer who'd been doing it for years?! I asked him to out the original microdermal on, paid 10.00 "for his time" and got out of there. For the next 5 days i had to fight an infection in that area and then the piercing fell off. I went to another place who told me this guy had jerked the anchor part f the microdermal and moved it quite a bit so now we are watching it to make sure the infection goes away and try to re-anchor. I recently moved to TX and needed to find a good artist to make an addition to a tatoo I already had. I had the design, but for some reason it would not transfer. He (Mannny) had to hand-draw it, and let me just say that it was 100% perfect. The only thing was that they were only taking cash that day and everyone had to leave to use an ATM (not in the same strip mall), so just make sure you have cash on you just in case it happens again.
