The facility was very clean and everybody was friendly and greeted you as soon as you walk through the door which is something that doesn't happen at every tattoo shop. Manny was my tattoo artist and he did a fabulous job. Showed him a picture of the Astros emblem I wanted to get to celebrate their World Series win and he pretty much knocked it out the park. This place is small but does the trick. I drove by and was able to get my small tatt without even needing an appointment which is cool. The artist Dave bragged about how he was a finalist on some tattoo show which I thought was odd. Specially when he needed a stencil for a simple heart with a ribbon. Since my tatt was behind my ear and fresh it was hard to see the full effect when he was done. Everything seemed fine when I left even after Dave told me to "give me a good tip". Yeah, wow. 2 days later I could see that it was way thin and light. I waited 2 weeks to ask for a touch up. After several messages left and back and forth texting for days he finally set me up with someone else to touch it up. I get there and that guy passes me off to someone else who looked like it was her first day but I figured how hard could she mess up tracing a quarter size heart. In the end this tiny girl Anna was the best. You could totally tell the difference when she was done!! She made it look awesome!!! Brighter, fuller, better!!This is my third tatt and she has done the best job of all three. Had it not been for this tiny girl and another artist there with such a friendly personality named Kit, I would rate the place with 2 stars. Anna and Kit bumped it up. I will tell others to go to Anna for any tatts and I will now go to her for any further tatts. I will be trying Kit out next for my future piercings but I'm sure she will do great. So, at age 42 I decided it was time to get my first ink. This was influenced by my wife Mary, who has had her dolphins on her shoulder for years, and my BFF Randi who was amused that I used to have a "stick up my butt" about body art. Having mellowed in my old age, she told me to carefully consider what I wanted for a year and a day before committing to a permanent decoration. I'm a huge geek, so I thought about several things that could sum me up in a tattoo- but the sing...le thing that represents who I am at my core since I was 11 in 1986 has been being a tabletop gamer. I can trace that back to the summer of '86 and the 1983 Dungeons & Dragons Basic and Expert boxed sets. So, the choice was made - the dragon ampersand from the D&D logo of that era. My friends were polled, and five suggestions out of about fifteen were DC Tatts in Round Rock, so that was the first place we went on my birthday. We walked in and were greeted in an incredibly friendly manner. One of the owners, Don, explained the process, looked at my design, and told me he could do it right then and there. Well, no time like the present. We were offered soda or water, the selection of music, and made to feel very laid back and comfortable. The tattoo itself was nowhere near as "bad" as some friends have said it would be. Don was professional, friendly, and deft with his tools. The final result looks like it could be a professionally printed icon on a book cover- the lines are crisp and clean. It came out perfectly. Then came the advice on how to take care of it as it heals, which was explained clearly and surely. My experience with my first ink was awesome. Went to the Round rock location to get a piece from Maverick (Daniel James). It was my first rib piece, and 5th piece overall. I am in love with it! During the process, Maverick kept checking on me, and asking if I needed a break. I have my next piece planned already, and I can't wait to get it from Maverick! Just have to save up some money lol. I hadn't planned on writing reviews on this place everywhere I could but I feel the need to. I had a good experience at that place, but the tattoo was bad, really bad. And after it was done on 4 of us, we were informed it was an apprentice and no one else was in the shop to check his work. I have sent this place so much business, And when I reviewed on their FB I was immediately contacted and told they would handle it. I had to use FB because my calls and email went unanswered. They guy seemed like he wanted to help, and find out who did it.... but then stopped contacting me. I have messaged him again and again, no answer. Basically the give you a shitty tattoo my daughter could draw better and leave you with it and don't care. Thanks for ruining the suicide awareness ribbon I have in my fathers honor. The 7 people I've personally gone to their shop with WONT go back, and we all like getting new tats! Save yourself and go somewhere else. Make sure they guarantee their work. I've gotten two tattoos done here and the difference was Night and Day. First was great and professional and supervised. My second was done by an apprentice who never said so, and there was only one other employee there, another apprentice. I didn't want to leave a low rating review, however I contacted the shop about how badly my tattoo is and they have yet to contact me. Just disappointed. Read Less

I just have to say how stoked I am to be traveling from Vancouver Canada and get tattooed by inkmaster Dave Bell, his work is absolutely jaw dropping. I cant express enough how happy i am to finally have some of my unfortunate ink covered with some badass black & grey art work. Went in a few weeks ago to get one of my tattoos done and Tony was the one who did mine. First one turned out great was really nervous about it, but he was very cool and I felt comfortable and relaxed after 5 mins of being there. Well I got my tattoo done there a while ago, it was done by the owner...i didn't get his name.. probably forgot it.. but was NOT HAPPY with the results.... I could go back and get a touch up but they did horrible the first time, they couldn't possibly make it look better... They said "they could make a tattoo look 3D and completly fucked up ... excuse my words but its the worst tattoo ive ever seen... and THEN, they charged me a ridiculous amount. Horrible I went in to get a tattoo from one person who then switched me to a second person I get the tattoo it looked horrible the whole time it was heeling like scratchy in the ink and then once it all peeled all of the ink came out of one part of my tattoo I went and showed other tattoo artist and they agreed it was done wrong I wouldn't recommend this place or maybe it was just he guy who did mine I'm not sure none the less I'm extremely annoyed for waiting money on something that didn't even last 3 weeks... don't say you know how to do a white tattoo if you don't ... Daniel is an amazing artist. I brought in a picture of an idea I had and he was able to take my idea and create a beautiful piece that he actually free handed. I've had many tattoos done and this was the largest. He has the lightest hand I've ever experienced. Avoid artist Daniel. Mika is very professional. I will most like have him do some work for me. Daniel on the other hand, took a $50 deposit on a tattoo I was getting for a beautiful lady I'm dating. She stopped by the shop to see his progress but he hadn't started it. According to Mika he was in the middle of a Tapout piece but he was rude and condescending to her. She told me about what happened and I talked to Mika. Mika refunded me my deposit but Daniel wouldn't have it. He was very unprofessional and lacks business ethics and customer service skills. Daniel did a tribal tattoo on my shoulder blade during a tap out Tuesday. He was a trooper and sat almost 6 hours for the work, and did a good job of making sure it was positioned right. However the ink work is pretty uneven - its light in some places and darker in others. Really would like to make this 4.5 stars, but that's not a choice.Had a great experience here with Mika and Alex. Came in Sunday with some ideas and Alex sat down and helped draw it into something really elegant. She wasnt available the days I was, but set me up with an appointment with Mika for the next day. Mika was great-- really gentle hand (good because it was a rib tattoo and hurt like a b****). He did a great job with the color and also just generally being a nice guy to spend 5 hours with. Price was incredibly reasonable, even though we were ready to pay more than he charged us. Only reason for the 4 stars is inter-office communication. I am not a tough guy and had asked another person in the shop about numbing cream beforehand, and he said I could definitely do it. He was there when we did the stencil, but I guess the message never got to my artist (no one asked right before, and I am not experienced enough to have brought it up), and we put the stencil on without the cream, so I had to do the whole outline without it, which probably made it take much longer than it had to (my fault for being a wuss, but I was upfront about being a wuss and tried to head that off). Did get the cream for the color work and it came out great. Just wish we'd done it for the outline too to save us both time. Anywho, great place, just make sure if you want the numbing cream you make it really clear to your artist (not anyone else) beforehand. I walked in Thursday afternoon had a consult with Donald about getting my arm tatted and my lower stomach done hip to hip. He was very nice and welcoming. Very family oriented. He had an opening that evening so I came back. He worked 6hrs on me and I had to come back the next day to finish and took almost 4hrs. Now mind you it was a really big piece and he took his time and was very detailed. I absolutely love my stomach piece and arm. I will never go anywhere else for another tat.
