ZERO stars for the beyond rude receptionist dude working Saturday night. Waited in the waiting area for 2 hours to walk out without a tattoo because he sucked at doing just about everything relating to his job. Got my first tattoo here. It was done way too small and I was charged double what other artists/shops say they would have charged. Lines are straight and they were friendly. But, if you're going to up charge, please give people the advice they deserve for their money. Read Less

Just went in with my brother. Front staff was friendly and let us know up front on the wait time. Not to bad, 45 minutes. We stuck around and got hooked up with Cody as our artist. Cody did an amazing job! The ink was perfect and was exactly what we wanted. The price was fair and Cody was great the whole time. Making jokes, he is a funny guy, and telling us stories about this and that. Made us get comfortable and to top all that off, he was light handed. I hardly felt a thing. I got my first tattoo when I was in Austin on a weekend vacation after my grandmother died the Tuesday before. I always knew I wanted one, but never what I wanted to get. She had a quote we always remembered "All the best people are weird". What a more fitting place to get this than in Austin.. I got the courage with the help of my boyfriend to go in and see if we got good vibes in the first place we stopped. I wasn't expecting to feel so relieved by walking in and talkin...g with the girls and the front desk and Danny. I had a very loose idea of what I wanted and had Danny take some artistic liberty with it. What he came back with was perfect. He set us up in his room and I apologized in advance for possibly being a little bitch about getting my first tattoo. He played some great bluegrass/soul music (Ben Nichols) and I couldn't have asked for a better first experience and now I have the itch for more. I've been here before to get work from a different artist and I liked it so I came back and I just saw Sean for a pretty small piece above my knee and I have to say, this was the most comfortable tattoo experience I've had. Least painful and best conversation I've had over a tattoo. Major props to Sean for that! Will be going back for more work with him. The shop itself is clean and the rest of the staff is friendly and great to talk with as well! I really recommend this shop and any of the artists, they've all got great portfolios and a lot of experience under their belts. Read Less

Dropped in one night looking for a tat and it looked like everyone was busy. I kinda milled around the front of the place and eventually the guy who does the piercings came from the back of the shop. I told him what I wanted and he told me that it would be about 2 hours. There was one person who was just getting a small tat ahead of me and there were 3 artists working I believe. He never bothered to check with the artists to see what the timetable was. I waited in the back on the couch playing games on my phone for an update or anything, but no one talked to me again unless I asked them. After 2 hours I asked if there was an update, and all he did was repeat what he told me before. Still I trusted them and waited. Same after 3 hours. Finally, after 3 1/2 hours I got someone to ask the artist and he told him that he wasn't going to have time. I left and won't be back. Ended up going to another shop in town and had a much much better experience and I'm very happy with the work as well. If you like attitude this may be a good place for you, but if you want a tattoo, keep looking. Read Less

I have a lot of tattoos. And I have gotten work from some of the biggest names in Texas and the country. I have really high standards for the shop, the artist and especially the work. I now only go to Toby at Atomic. He used to be at another location but now is at the Pflugerville store, but he is WORTH the drive! He is of course a great artist, but is also a great guy, very professional, creative and trustworthy. This is the first review I have ever written on CitySearch, but I felt compelled to give the shop and especially Toby some props. I get a lot of compliments on my tatts, so I know in love them, but it always feels good when other artists and people compliment the work as well. Sean went to deep on my tattoo and I have a huge gaping hole in my wrist that bleeds and flesh is showing, they refuse to refund.He says he can fix, as if id let him tattoo me again. I am in pain and bleeding..but they dont care. Be careful in who you trust to ink your body, Atomic Tatto is NOT where you should go. Read Less
