I went to Love N Hate without doing any research on a specific artist because I'd always heard good things. Big mistake. Chris O'Toole was rude, dismissive, and did a half ass job on both of the pieces he did for me. He charged far more than his work is worth. I attempted many times to come back in so that he could complete and clean up the piece. They kept telling me 'we stand by our work, touch ups are free'. I tried to make an appointment to come in upon their opening on a Saturday, and was refused. I was told the only time I could come in was Tues-Thurs evenings. That's not an option for me, as I don't live in the area. I explained this, and they wouldn't budge. Customer service is not Love N Hate's forte. When my piece was healed and ready to be fixed, I no longer trusted this establishment, or their artists, to do right by me. If you want to be tattooed by someone who will pay more attention to the movie playing on his iPad than he will on your tattoo, this is the place for you. Silver lining? I did my research. I found Jose Arriaga at Symmetry 6 in Bedford. He is FANTASTIC. Everyone at this facility is. Friendly, welcoming, legitimate artists, fairly priced. Jose re-did my entire piece for almost half of what Chris charged me. I'm no longer angry and sad when I look at the paw on my wrist. Jose did the job I wanted originally. They did my earlobe piercings and were great! I was thoroughly informed about aftercare products (saline and unscented antimicrobial lotion soap) which they sold for a fair price. The piercings healed nicely and with no issues. They also made sure to tell me about the dangers of nickel jewelry to help keep me safe. I got a tattoo from this establishment probably about 4 weeks ago upon arrival it was nice clean and cool. They had a pretty cool set up unlike other tattoo shops. The guy who did my tattoo was kind of rude if I say so myself.  When I was sitting in the chair instead of spinning it around with his hands he kicked it while I was on it. My tattoo i think could have been better it looks like I drew it on myself because it's only letters and symbols. There are parts where you can't even see the ink. Spencer saved my wife's ear lobes! She had gotten her ears pierced at another shop, which got infected. Luckily we were able to come here to get the piercing removed. When we first walked in I looked all around to scope out the place and I noticed not only was very clean but the artwork on the walls was fantastic.  The young guy who greeted us was very kind and helpful when trying to decide what we wanted. The owner Chris consulted with us on what we wanted and then escorted us the the room  I can't say enough about how talented his is not only in his work but he made us feel comfortable that as a 48 year old woman who always wanted a tattoo and was frightened because of having ailments  He made me and my kids feel so comfortable that I got my tattoo too.  Out of all three of our tattoo's we all love them all.  I honestly don't have any cons.. While all of the other tattoos places in the area charge a minimum 75.00 to 150.00 love and hate starts at 60.00. It is very hard for a high schooler to pay 75.00/150.00 to just get a star no bigger than a nickel their minimum is just sad.  I didn't really like my kids getting tattoos but if they did it had to be something meaningful and small so to have to pay that high of a minimum I just think that that's out of line for something so tiny.  So again Thank you Chris for your great work all around!  We will be sending everyone your way! I met with Sandra at piercing shop down in Dallas after I had the misfortune of a terrible tongue piercing. At her recommendation she removed the jewelry for me and gave me great after care information for proper healing. She gave me her card and number and told me to reach out if I had any questions and to also come see her when I'm ready to get it re done at her new studio-Love-n-hate. I came by after a few weeks and got it redone. Let me tell you the difference was night and day compared to the original piercer. Seriously the best experience! We came to the shop to get a tattoo that one of the artists said he could do. He told us come back in two hours and he would have everything drawn up and ready to go, so we waited around. Once we came back after waiting, he told us it was too complicated and there was nothing he could do (he couldn't have called or said that earlier?!?) It wasn't that complicated of a tattoo and after going to another shop and having them easily complete it, it's obvious it was laziness that stopped him from doing it. Plus there was nobody even waiting to get a tattoo and all the artists were just standing around. Our time was wasted and not only that but the artist was really rude about it. Walked in to get a simple tattoo. Jamie was next up, he was a nice enough guy and a quick look at his work looked acceptable. He came out with a tracing quickly and went to set up the room. He called me in, the room was nasty dirty and was in very bad condition (crummy shop lights hanging below the ceiling, ceiling tiles missing and broken, other lights out, sewer gas smell) - just bad. Anyhow, Jamie set to work quickly and was done in no time, soft enough touch but my skin reacted like it never had before (over 20 tattoos to date). I'm now 2 weeks out and about 1/2 is healing fine while the rest is red, puffy, hot and covered in a thick scab. My skin is beat to hell and I'd guess a bit of an infection. I won't go back to Jamie or to Love and Hate, sorry guys but that's my honest take on it. Update: I'm now 2 months out and this mess finally healed after 2 rounds of antibiotics. It's still a little sore but the open wound and scabs are gone. The tattoo looks pretty bad because of the scaring and the surrounding skin still shows signs of trauma. Everywhere there were scabs is now a pink scar with no ink remaining. Not pretty Read Less

Just dropped in one day to have my wife's name placed on my arm. And it went from there to many more visits. The place is clean and the staff all make me feel welcomed every time. Disconcerting their sterilization procedures are not posted on their website. The shop wasn't the cleanest I've seen. When asked if they change out drills between clients they said "No, we just change the needles which are disposable." Not sure how sanitary this is because in the past I've always seen artists remove drills from a marked sterilization pouch. The artist was nice, polite, quick and did great work. I should have taken more time deciding however on actually getting a tattoo there or not because I am worried about lack of sterilization of equipment. I wouldn't recommend the shop and I won't go back because I know there are cleaner shops out there. Read Less

Been going here for 3 years just got my daith pierced here today by Booger. This was my 4th cartilage by him. It's always super fast and easy, shop is clean and the wait isn't long. Booger is chill and really nice. I get all my piercings done here and any jewelry changes done here too. I was going to a place in denton for my Tragus and it rejected and came out of my ear. Two weeks later and i no longer have redness, pain, bleeding or swelling. Piercing were a tad pricier than expected. $40 a piercing. $5 off for every individual piercing after. I have been tattooed by Deborah many times in the last few years, and she has always done a fantastic job.  I have one that is almost 10 years old and it still looks wonderful.Deborah is also very courteous and professional.  Try stopping by during the less busy hours and if you need some time to discuss your piece, she'll always do her best to make time.  If you need time to discuss your new tattoo with any artist, a busy Friday or Saturday night probably isn't appropriate.If it's your first tattoo or 100th tattoo, she'll make it your new favorite piece. After a mistaken first tattooing experience, I went to Love-n-Hate on a tip from a friend and met Deb to get my 2nd.  She's a fantastic artist and I wouldn't want anyone else in charge of my ink from now on.  She's done all three of my other tattoos from design to inking. They are gorgeous, they were reasonably priced, and it's worth it just to spend a few hours in a room with a talented, funny, takes-no-crap lady like Deborah Brody. Growing up cruising Van Nuys Blvd in California I expected the typical biker tattoo place that you speeded up when passing so when my husband was going to take our teen to get a belly button piercing I was very hesitant.  I went along to check this out before anyone was punching a hold in my girl.  This is a very clean, very professional place.  I never would have believed I would be recommending a tattoo and piercing place but now I have.  I have no reference to compare this to but I was impressed. I went into Love-n- Hate and was greeted by friendly people and not the common tattoo elitist. I came with a project that has been 10 years in the making, looking for an artist to take a personal interest and have input, as well as be perceptive to what I was trying to do. This is exactly what I found at Love-N-Hate. I have looked at many portfolios across the metroplex and finally found what I was looking for with Deb. Her portfolio boasted many well done originals as well as AMAZING cover-ups and fill-ins. After speaking with her and bouncing ideas back and forth I decided to proceed with the project. Surprisingly, she did not charge a drawing fee, which is common, and took time on multiple occasions to help nail down the details. She was very professional and we were in contact until we arranged a date to start the large project that I had presented. I cannot express how grateful I am to have someone be so professional and friendly and turn out such an AWESOME product. My husband and I were looking to get a LOT of work done. I first found Love-n-Hate online and they had decent reviews. I looked at everyone's artwork and was very impressed with the artist Josh. We went into the shop to see if we could talk to someone about our work we wanted. My husband has two tattoos, one on each calf. We want to cover them so that means that we will be covering the whole bottom part of his legs. The guy behind the counter just stared at us for the longest time and then told us Deb would be the only one that could do cover ups. That's cool I guess, I wasn't floored by her work, but she did a good job with the cover ups. Then I told the guy what I wanted. I had some of my own art work (not tattoo worthy but it was just for inspiration) and planned to cover my entire calf as well. I was hoping to meet Josh but I was sent over to talk to Luis. After talking to Luis, he also recommended that I talk to Deb, and that she would be perfect for the job. So Deb only works 2 nights a week which I'm not happy about since my husband and I want such large pieces done but whatever. They told us that we could come back and talk to her, send an email, or we could text her. So today my husband went in to talk to her in person. There are 4 or 5 guys just standing around talking in the front and Debs doing a tattoo. Now we don't expect her to stop what she is doing by any means, but first impressions mean everything, even in a tattoo shop. Deb was full of attitude, very rude and short with my husband, and told him it was a $100 bucks just to talk to her. We will NOT be getting our work done here. For one, why is there only one artist in the shop that can do anything? Are you telling me that all the other guys standing around only do piercings and the stencils that are all ready drawn out for them? Does she charge $100 because after she comes up with something people don't like her work and go elsewhere? Or she only works two days a week so she makes all her money on consultations? Tattoos last for life for the most part, I will not settle with these guys. (UPDATE) Since then we came across Cat Tattoo off of Belt Line rd. There work is AMAZING and blows these guy out of the water!! We will be going there next week and I'm SO excited! Definitely look them up if you want more then just the flash art on the wall!!!
