I was recommended to Skylar by a friend of mine. I was updating a memorial tattoo and brought my own artwork to the consultation. Scheduling was easy and work starts promptly at the sessions. Skylar is very focused during his sessions and is very efficient with his time. His line work is exceptional and shading and color are amazing. Very unprofessional experience. I called ahead of time and the man on the phone was nice. I drove all the way from Carrollton, talked to two guys who had no idea who I was. They were out behind their shop smoking pot, couldn't even bother to take me inside the building to talk about quotes and ideas of what we could do for my tattoo. I came here for my first tattoo. Atmosphere was very welcoming when we came in. Even though I should've printed out my references Skyler was able to recreate what I wanted with just my phone.  Skyler did fantastic! He's pretty quiet when he gets into the rhythm of it all but I appreciated how focused he was. The lines came out clean and straight. My boyfriend ended up getting one last minute which he was able to fit in last minute. Prices are also really reasonable. My husband and I went there for the first time for a neck tattoo of a lotus flower and an elbow tattoo of an octopus. By far the best place we have ever been to. Randy is the most talented tattoo artist we have ever work with. He not only created my beautiful flower with amazing colors but he free handed my husbands octopus tattoo on his elbow. 4wks ago I went to get my forward helix pierced. Long story short, it was positioned incorrectly rubbing against the inside of my ear raw, and I broke out into a fever from an infection that was surfacing. I ended up getting the piercing removed from another studio who mentioned they are constantly fixing this studios mistakes. On top of that they are over priced and under qualified (at least with piercings). Overall, your body, your choice. You've been warned Read Less

Cannot say enough good about my experience. Johnny hooked myself and my sons father up with teddy bears. He did a better job than I had envisioned the "perfect little bear" in my own head. Let me just tell u... when a man covered in tattoos, as big as Kory is, lets u come in and "temporarily tattoo" a giant butterfly with scrolling fflying off of each wing- DEAD CENTER ON HIS THROAT- before he actually does HIS job on ur friends' arm, you automatically fall in love with him, his staff & his shop. Saw Johnny Reaux for a tattoo on my back last night and the experience was phenomenal. Customer service is top notch, he called me ma'am the entire time! Was super polite and and friendly and has a very high respect for the people he is working on. Great guy, great talent and we discussed additions to my tattoo after he was done. Great place, clean and honest. We had tattoos done with ashes from our dog that passed away. Very simple script that they designed for us. It was my first tattoo. So I got pierced here the other day by a guy who really doesn't seem to reflect the standard set by A Living Canvas. (He's got a spiderweb tattoo in his ear, don't know his name unfortunately--it wasn't Alex.) He glazed over aftercare WAY too fast, literally as the needle was in me, and didn't give me anything to help remember. As someone who hasn't gotten any piercings in years, and made this clear, I thought this was unprofessional. When it was done, he said to come back in 3-5 days to change out the jewelry to shorter barbells...WHAT? Even I knew this was wrong. Piercings take weeks/months to heal and shouldn't be messed with before then. So I went to a different piercer that was suggested to me by a friend (Booger at Love N Hate Tattoo) for a second opinion, who said that's crazy advice. First off, Booger advised 6-8 weeks MINIMUM to change out my jewelry. When he looked to make sure the placement was even done correctly, he said my nipples were pierced way too deep--in my areolae--and are unlikely to ever fully heal. It's likely that I'll have to repierce, and I'll be going to Love N Hate for that. Very unsatisfied. Go elsewhere, or demand Alex do your piercing. This other guy seems inexperienced. Read Less

If you are reading reviews before you get a tattoo, you are smart in learning as much as you can about the establishment and its artists. A Living Canvas Tattoo in Lewisville, TX is THE ONLY place I would trust my body and the body of my wife to. First, the place is clean and sanitized. The place is spotless and it is not uncommon to see one of the artists carrying around a bottle of sanitizer when they don't have a client and cleaning. Second, the artists are serious about doing a good job and they are excellent people. My wife and I absolutely love the whole team. They make you feel comfortable and they are honest about giving you feedback on your tattoo ideas.My wife and I spent hours of research prior to receiving our first tattoo a few months ago. We both had a small tattoo performed for our first one. We felt so comfortable with the experience that we went in for another and asked them to do a detailed piece. Long story short; the team just finished my 6th and my wife's 4th. I have literally been stopped by people asking me where I got my ink because of the looks of the work. I flew into the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex this weekend. One of my goals was to make it back to my favorite tattoo center in good old Lewisville, TX. My wife and I got our first tattoos here many years ago and I will only go to A Living Canvas to get my ink. It was another great experience and another perfect tattoo.
