Went in to a get a fairly simple tattoo. The artists seemed nice and they're probably very talented. I will never know. Because the price they quoted me was absolutely ridiculous. They quoted me OVER 200% of the price that EVERY other place I had gone to quoted me. My suggestion to anyone thinking of getting a tattoo soon is to check the place out. Again, they were nice and probably very talented. If money isn't an issue, this place might be for you. In response 1: It was a tattoo with lettering. 13 letters. Less than a square inch per symbol. I was quoted at other places $145, $140, $130 and $120. It took 40 minutes to do. Just black. No detail. No shading. When I asked one of the artists at your shop, they told me they could probably do it for $250... I ended up going with the guy who said he'd do it for $120 and it was perfect. And anyone who reads my review will see that I only had one problem with my visit and had plenty of nice things to say. It just happened to be a very big problem. And in my opinion, an integrity issue. So no. I didn't only write a review based off of price. I based my review off of my experience. Which is why you received 2 stars. Instead of 1. In response 2: I appreciate your response. If that's the case, it was obviously just a bad timing issue. Maybe if I had come in a week earlier, she would've done it for way too cheap. ;) Only joking. I will change my review and give the shop another shot. I'm looking to get several more in the near future. I didn't want to hurt your business by my review. I just wanted to inform people of my experience so that they might avoid the same. It was a bit shocking. I actually met someone at another shop when getting my new one who said they had gotten their last one from y'all and it looked really good. So I know y'all do good work. I came in and got a tattoo from Emma. I was nervous being that she was not usually who I got my tattoos from but she reassured me shed do a great job. I asked her to see her previous work first (I didn't want to off and her just wanted to see what she had done). She was super cool about it and understood where I was coming from. First time for me to get a tattoo. Zac did a great job at a great price. I would refer him to anyone. I won't go anywhere else. Edit: It's been years since getting my tattoo. I've needed to get it touched up for a third time and everyone at the shop keeps telling me to try to come in later. It's a small tattoo and won't take very long but whatever. Time and time again I'm told to wait or they can't do it. I was even told to come in on a Monday because it's their slowest day. I call Mondays and my artist isn't in (who is the only person allowed to touch up the tattoo.) I've tried being patient and reasonable. It seems the upfront experience is great but they just aren't interested in my continued business. I wanted more tattoos after this one is fully done but I guess I can go somewhere else after all. I got my 13th tattoo here. Even after having 12, I was nervous walking in, because a lot of shops are a bit intimidating. Everyone who worked here was friendly and welcoming. I'm the owner of A Better Tattoo and can tell you that Ellen must have the wrong place in mind or just wanted to write a bogus review. My old man passed away a couple weeks ago and my employees covered me a lot and so I gave them a bit of time off. I was the only one working on the 10th and I'm certainly not a woman. We don't send piercings away unless they want "below the waist" piercings, because we don't do those. Anyway, that's really all I can say about this review.. I walked in and the woman who worked there was working with another costumer. I asked if I could get a piercing done and she told me she was busy with a costumer. I asked if I could be seen later that day and instead of answering me she told me to go and get my piercing done at Claire's. if I wanted my piercingly done at Claire I wouldn't have driven all they way to this crappy tattoo place.
