My husband paid a 250.00 deposit and set a date with an artist, my husband showed up and waited outside for an hour and nobody showed. Nobody called or said anything. Just a no show. He wanted his money back and they said deposits were non-refundable- which would be understandable if my husband had not shown or cancelled. Definitely won't go back. The entire staff in the studio is amazing!!!  The owner, Tony got a bad rap from a typical idiot who doesn't understand how a business makes money. Tony is great and I love the fact that he runs a shop where there isn't flash everywhere. Those aren't creations of you and your artist!!!I highly recommend you ask for Christian. Yep, he's young, but man, I couldn't be happier to say he did my sleeve and more. Maybe I got lucky in my find. After losing my 4 footed friend I wanted something that would last forever. I got it and more. Christian did an amazing job of recreating his paw print and putting it permanently on my side where he always laid his foot while we slept. I am more than happy with it. Moto was my artist and he did an amazing job all around. He was very kind and took the time to understand what I was going for. I'm certainly no artist, so I'm in no way good at communicating my ideas. He added to/fixed up a tattoo I already had and I've scheduled my next appointment with him to get another piece. I've been tattooed all over the U.S. from Texas to Chicago. From local lesser known artists to names from LA INK like Amy Nicoletto. With all that said Tony( the shop owner) is a name that should be recognized all over. I emphasize again that he is an Artist not at Tattooist . He creates; he does not copy. If you want respectable work you will not find a better artist in Houston. When you get tattooed by Tony you are getting an exhibit/painting. He charges 150 per hr; a reasonable price for the astonishing work you will get. This place is all about tattoo perfection. I never knew how advance this industry can be. Looks like a 3D printer tattooed my arm and I'm very impressed with Tony. Held with the upmost respect and integrity. Undstandably people will default on their deposits and write bad reviews but we are known in the industry to always do business fairly and honorably. Example Kevin W, who's "extracurricular hobbies" may have distorted his senses in the understanding he was the only client on the planet, and every artist in the studio revolves solely on his time and frame of mind.  We can take a loss of a few hundred dollars a day because he couldn't make his appts. making an appointment was easy. they post on facebook when they have openings due to cancellations. My artist name, Jet. He understood my idea, put it together with little effort and was outta there within an 90 minutes. I was pleased when Jet shared the piece with his associates. If I could change anything, it would be the font size, going back to what he suggested in the first place. But I love the piece. I saw a few good reviews about this place and I was told it was a decent place. I walked in, talked to Tony, told him my idea and paid $150 right there to schedule an appointment for three months down the road. Tony was very cool that day and I thought the place looked really cool. I felt good about getting a tattoo there. I got called in to work the night before my appointment, and everything at Weathered Helm went to hell. I called the number on the business card Tony had given me the night before my appointment to let them know I was at work all night and the ne next night and I needed to reschedule. It went to voice mail and I left a message. I called the next day to reschedule. No answer and another voice mail. I sent an email to the email address on the business card. Then I was told if I wanted to communicate with anyone in the shop I should go through facebook. I don't do facebook. Finally after a month or so of calling, the other artist there, Cali, told me he didn't know why Tony wasn't talking to me but he would do the tattoo. I was already at the point where the shop wasn't a place I wanted to go to anymore, but Cali convinced me. And then the same shit started happening again. I didn't keep calling. I got a $150 mistake at a tattoo shop without ever getting a tattoo. That's right, Tony pocketed my money. I've been to a lot of shops, all over. One of my tattoos I got on Guam. I've been in plenty of tattoo shops, and I've never seen anything like this. I should have taken the advice of people telling me to stay away from the place. Read Less
