I arrived to phatboys at about 2:30 pm when it was set to open at 2 pm. There was no one inside the people next door told me that they usually come around 4 pm or even 6pm. I waited some more and watched as others came to the door and saw no one inside. I left than I came back at 4 to find no one had opened up the shop even then. Had such a great experience with a piercing. While at work I had an emergency with my piercing, and they quickly accommodated me during my lunch hour. Got a forward helix piercing there the other day.. I don't know his name but he was really rude and seemed annoyed. I told him what I wanted pierced and he told me he couldn't do it because of how my ear was shaped but there were many other places that said they could have done it for me. I guess I went there because they were cheap and I thought they could do it. Anyways I only got one and when he dotted it I asked if it could be a little lower and he shook his head and seemed super annoyed so I just let it be and ignored it. I should've said something though considering I'M paying them. It was $10 and I had a $20 dollar bill and they didn't even have change. I got my nose piercing done by Roger and he did a perfect job. It costs $10 and took literally less than a minute. I was nervous about the pain, and the way he did it, i didnt feel any pain. I was recommended this place from a friend who also got nipple piercings about 6 months before. We had to wait for a while because the "piercing guy" was busy which was ok and my friends and I didn't mind. Keeping in mind that this was my first piercing experience ever I was a bit nervous to dive into it with nipple piercings but I was pretty sure I could handle the pain. What I wasn't prepared for was that the piercer was so rude and annoyed that I didn't want to have it done in front of a room full of people when there was an empty back room. The ENTIRE REASON for that area is for people who don't feel comfortable getting more private areas pierced out in the open. AND to top the whole unpleasant experience off I later noticed that he didn't even pierce them correctly and they were way too close to the edge so I couldn't use the jewelry I initially got them for. So I was tattoo virgen and its been 5 years sense i wanted to get a tat I would look for shops ask ppl and nothing that I like...I worked at Mambo seafood and ive would ask ppl were did they got their tats done...so they said Phat Boys by Hillcroft and ask for Roger not ganna lie ive asked sooo many ppl and every single one would say ask for Roger!! I went here after being recommended this place by a friend. Unfortunately the piercer she suggested wasn't in, so Jay did my cartilage piercings. From the moment I walked in, I was given a weird look by one of the workers doing a tattoo, like I didn't belong there (I am pretty clean as far as tattoos and piercings go). Jay was professional, but didn't seem too friendly. I tried to make conversation with him until he lightened up. I told him I wanted a triple cartilage piercing, and he told me that he couldn't do it as high up as I wanted because of the way my ear was shaped. I was bummed because the picture I had brought in had folded cartilage like mine, but I trusted him and let him go for it anyway.The piercings were extremely painful! He pierced very slow and I bled a LOT. The first two he got right on as far as placement (90 degree angle into my ear), but the third one he messed up. It was placed higher than my other two (the spacing was supposed to be even). Since it was on my ear, I couldn't see well this placement until I got home. I wasn't even offered a mirror and had to look by my camera phone!I called back and asked to speak to Jay, but they said he was doing a tattoo and would be right with me.. So his forte is probably not piercing!! I told him that the third piercing was off and what did I need to do to fix it, and he replied, "Uhh... well it's only like a millimeter off, and if you put different earrings in, you won't be able to tell the difference." So he knew that he had messed up before he took my money and I walked out!! He said I could pull it out and then once it heals back up after several weeks he would repierce it for free, but I just left it alone. I didn't want him touching my ear again!!I ended up going to a place on Montrose (the best guys out there -- I should have just gone there first), and when they were able to pull it out (because I couldn't, it had become too sensitive), they said that they used incredibly cheap earrings and they were "surprised it was doing so well" (this was after 4 days of constant bleeding and I had finally gotten it to stop). They also said the bleeding could have been caused by unsterile needles. A few days after that piercing, my ear also turned purple from bruising.I should have known why they didn't have any yelp reviews and that they only make you pay in cash that this place was going to be shady. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE, but I guess you get what you pay for! Read Less
