Not at all what I expected. From having worked at and been around smoke/music/novelty shops around Houston and the surrounding suburbs, this place was different..and not in a good way. I don't like putting bad reviews on places of business, so for me to do this review speaks volumes. It's ran by people of Asian decent (if I am incorrect, I apologise in advance). But yeah, it was in an old suite building, yet the actual shop was alarmingly small, there wasn't many "supplies" out in the display case, the people that were "working", acted as if we were ghosts upon walking through the door. Basically not lively AT ALL and they are overpriced for cheaply made guns that are made in China. There's a lot of hype about this place, but I'd much rather just get on Amazon and get brand new stuff (specifically a rotary gun; the initial reason I went to Dragoart) at cheap prices for my boyfriend who does great tattoo work! I can get the same chintzy stuff on Amazon or Ebay for a fraction of the cost. And please please do not buy ink from these people. I had a client that had a horrible reaction to a fresh bottle of eternal white knight, some people are unaware of allergies they might have to certain pigments so I tested it on myself and I had the same reaction. I have no allergies whatsoever. I got the same brand and color from a reputable distributor(my normal supplier) and tested again on myself everything is fine. Lucky for me my client was a personal friend and allowed me to fix it with good, clean, AUTHENTICALLY BRANDED ink. Sorry dragonfart...i mean art...I no go no mo. Read Less

Place is cool in a pinch. But don't fall for their BS. They will try to sell you "professional machines" but they are junk. I really only go here for the tubes. Needles are hit or miss at this place. Usually not very sharp or poorly crafted "liners". The don't carry curved mags and they don't carry any name brand needles only the ones they get from China. I use their needles on my fake skin but never in clients. Their hours kind of suck too. My shop opens at noon so I almost never have a chance to go their. Read Less

Best prices in Houston. I've been to other spots that charge twice as much for the same product smh. Location is local to my shop home. And they always have what I need. Dragoart crew is like family to us at A1 ink Houston. It's been times when we called at closing and theyve waited after business hours to service us. Various ink brands to choose from. I've had the opportunity to stop by 3 times already and got exactly what I needed. I bought a flying saucer foot pedal amongst other things that I needed and these guys were quick to help me find what Best suited me. Wish there were a place in the RGV like this.
