I walked into this tattoo studio during my surveying of the local tattoo shops in my immediate area. I found some few decent shops, a couple actually good ones but most of my time was occupied at tattoo shops like this one. There are bad tattoo shops and there are bad tattoo artists, but when you get those two together you get the likes of "The Tattoo Studio". This place looked like it was constructed out of paper mâché, with some dated flash on the walls and what looked like an old dinner counter as their workspace. I looked through some of their sample work so as to not be rude, but had my pupils violated by page after page of mediocre to amateurish to even some obscenely bad tattoo work. I would stake my reputation on the fact that my 7th grade art class could draw pictures around them. These are 11-12 year olds that are not licensed to hold a vibrating needle to someone's skin and do not get paid for such a disservice. I was absolutely horrified that these people would call themselves professional tattoo artist, horrified that they would advertise their work for all to see right in their front lobby, and I'm assuming these were the best of the lot, but I was way more horrified that there was a woman slumped over a massage chair letting one of these trade school dropouts jab a needle in her back side. I would like to understand why that lady is allowing herself to be permanently marked by this no talent kid who reeks of weed and alcohol, or why there are more people in the lobby looking at the pictures and seriously considering giving them money for this mutilation. But it doesn't stop there, more are in the parking lot, more will come in this weekend and more have been coming for the last few months and years maybe, but why? Are these people really that stupid? Are they blind? Is this the only $1.50 tattoo in town? Is that it? Nope, got a quote of $250 for a 1 hour piece on my forearm. I was shocked and again confused, these tattoos aren't cheap, a $250 hour tattoo is expensive, it is also big, colorful, detailed, and well done. The tattoos coming out of this place are neither. I don't know how to close this review, I don't know if I should tell you to stay away, since people crowd their shop anyways, I don't know If I should tell you to do what you feel is right for you, if I tell you that and you go in there, I am paying you a disservice. I know what quality tattoos look like, and I would hope that most of you do as well, but this place is horrible, the talent is non-existing, the shop looks like crap, the permanent garbage people are getting littered with is more expensive than what you would get from a tested and true tattoo artist, and finally, when you have that many people willingly and knowingly putting low caliber work on someone's skin, work they themselves KNOW is bad, that is a dishonest place full of dishonest people who are out to make every single penny they can before the steam runs out and they have to change their name and move into a new shop. Don't make a mistake, at least don't make it here. There are hundreds of tattoo shops in the surrounding area. Don't be in a hurry and don't settle for the cheapest or closest shop. Take your time do your recon, look at different shops, look at their work, get word of mouth, get quotes, but most importantly, get the tattoo YOU want, have it represent your vision and not the artists. It's your money, it's your skin, and it's your choice, chose wisely. Read Less
