Told me it would take 4 hours to draw a really simple design. The place was empty. They were not interested in creating a custom piece with things I wanted. Kept showing me something I didn't want . Dean was amazing. I walked in wanting to get a finger tattoo touched up and he was willing to do it right then! The end product was better than I expected and what I originally had done!! Had an amazing experience at King Pin tattoos yesterday. Had a 6 hour session with Big Mike, and he is top notch. He helped me take a vague idea, and turn it into a bad ass concept, and even more bad ass piece of art. My wife did a 6 hour session with Terry, and his work is exceptional. Went in for a tattoo, wasn't greeted at all. There was no one in the lobby and when we asked if there was any artists available they said depends on tattoo. When I showed them what I wanted the guy replied with, "not my jazz" first wtf does that mean, second it was a personal tattoo that I drew for my brother who was killed in an accident. So it really rubbed me the wrong way. Should be a little more considerate when someone brings in their own drawing, you never know what it means to them. Read Less

I got 2 years there bk in 2003 full color one on my bk and one on each foot none of them have faded or bled or and left white spots the look like I got the a year or maybe 2 ago they are awesome and if I could just find out if Ian I'm pretty sure that was his name is still working there I would drive the 6 hours to let him do a couple more because I gave him a general idea of what I wanted and let him do the creative work that I still love till this day and always will but like I sd that was in 2003 when I was in the army so it's been a while and prob a fat chance of finding an artist like him that I would trust to put some more ink on me Read Less

My husband and I spontaneously decided to get Friday the 13th tattoos today! After looking into a few other shops we ended up at kingpin tattoo. The girl at the front desk was really cool and nice. She was answering phones, helping clean rooms and helping walk-in and doing a great job at it! they had four artists working on tattoos which was cool because their lobby was packed! They also had a really good selection of art work to pick from ranging in size. We did wait a really long time but we expected that so we had left to get food and even went home to check on the dogs for a bit. I ended up with William who was really nice and made me feel very comfortable. He did my tattoo in about 30 minutes which was cool for me because I'm a wimp! And my husband ended up with Dean who was super funny and did an amazing job. He went above and beyond a $20 tattoo for my husband which wasn't expected! The first time we went into the studio was for my wife; Manda has always been able to turn our descriptions and ideas into masterpieces. Out of all the places I've gotten a tattoo at, Kingpin Tattoo is by far the cleanest, most professional shop I have ever been to. I've gotten the last 2 of my 8 tattoos here and will go nowhere else from now on. I especially love the privacy of the art rooms while getting tattooed, and the overall great vibe of the shop. Manda May is AMAZING! Her cover up skills are second to none. After meeting with her and talking about what the final art should convey, she made the most amazing tribute piece for my mom, while covering up a big black blob on my shoulder and back! My daughter wanted her septum pierced, and based on reviews I took her here. She had her septum checked out, and due to her not having the "sweet spot" necessary for a septum piercing, she was told, "You're asking me to cause you future pain, and I simply can't do that." I am grateful for this place having the integrity to turn down business when someone is not a viable candidate, and I highly recommend them. She ended up having her upper ear pierced instead, and they did a great job that was quick, professional, and is healing nicely. Read Less

Advertises Tattoo & Piercing, but not interested in doing any piercings. We called ahead to see if we needed an appointment because, we are 20 minutes from the location, and were told no, but as soon as we got there he was wrapped up for the rest of the night on a tattoo. We talked to the very nice guy at the counter, and made an appointment for the next day. When went there the next day for our appointment, again the guy that does tongue piercings is not available because, he is giving a tattoo and won't be available for a couple hours.....why offer appointments if they don't honor them!! Very unprofessional! We will take our business someowhere else. I do not recommend them for piercings and if you make an appointment, it could be canceled without even a phone call to let you know. They defintely couls work on customer relations. The only reason I gave a full one star is because the guy at the counter with glasses was very courteous. Read Less

I was only in town for a few hours.  Walked in and was greeting by a nice guy at the desk and told him what I was interested in.  Hooked up with Austin and he drew up a beautiful piece for me and got it all done in one sitting.  Austin was very professional and easy to converse with for the duration of my session.  Very nice, sexy, and detailed tattoo.  Very pleasant experience.  Clean and sanitary work environment and he explained everything he did from start to finish.  I will definitely be returning and looking for him when I am back in town for my next one!Even though it's quite a drive for me...as long as Austin is there, I will be a repeat customer.  Thanks for having me! Called to make an appointment and the male that answered the phone spoke to me as if I were uneducated and was asking a dumb question. He was also very sarcastic. I went to Kingpin because my friend had her ear (cartilage) piercing done there. So I figured they must be good for my friend to like them. I walked in and was instantly greeted by a guy named Matt. He was in such a good mood that it put my nerves at ease. We walked into a room and I told him I wanted to get my industrial done and he was all for it! The whole time he was doing my piercing he was talking me to me and keeping me distracted so I was focusing on the needle. I do know for a fact that some piercers don't talk and are rude but Matt was very funny and kind. I am very happy with my piercing! Read Less

Would not go back. Piercer who pierced my nostril told me I had a keloid when I went in for a small bump that was growing from the site. It was not a keloid in fact those are very uncommon and require surgery or steroids to get rid of, are hereditary, and she knows nothing about keloids. She told me to put teatree oil which made it worse! It took forever to heal when I should have just applied warm sea salt soaks when bump appeared. Bump finally quit appearing and has healed after 5 months. Also the first words that came out of their mouths were extremely rude to me and embarrassed me. Very unprofessional and I did not go back when I wanted my septum pierced. I went to Zack at Jaded Dragon and it healed within a month no problems (wish I had gone there for my nostril)! I would not go back here if it was the last place on earth to get pierced anyway. Read Less
