My friend and I came in as walk ins because of the great reviews we read online and were not disappointed. We knew there would be a wait as there were several people waiting already and the artists were all busy, but they each made a point to say hello and talk to us about the tattoos we wanted. There is a ton of art to look at, and the place felt welcoming and clean, unlike some of the shops we have been in. It was well worth the wait! We both got amazing tattoos. Josh even drew mine directly on my body, no picture, just art. Demon Dave did my friends tattoo and it's better than what either of us were expecting. We will definitely be back! Josh had the patience of a mountain guru, as I explained to him the perils and anxiety of my future tattoos. He didn't just slap something down and lied at the end of the process to make me like what I got. He sat down with me as I told him all my vague ideas, and he personally drew his vision with a marker before starting with the needle, something I've only seen at Texas Tattoos, out of the 5 other places I've been. And he was an absolute pleasure to talk with during the process. The shop is clean and full of wonderful art, as it is a gallery for artists as well. Ive gone to them since Josh was down at the now defunct Pokeez. He did many of my tattoos. These guys are awesome. Theyre always busy but they are down home good people. Its not just a business its a friendly atmosphere and I tell everyone I know to go here. When I come back to Texas one of my first stops will be to get some ink from one of them . All of the artists who have remained here are great guys and gals, very talented, with lots of experience. After visiting several studios in the area, and everyone telling us to go one place or another, and not having much luck, we decided to try one more. We didn't have any trouble getting anyone to talk to us, even though they were very busy at the time. They wouldn't pierce my daughter because she isn't 18, but they were very professional and explained their policy. After following Josh Painters work on Facebook for a long time before deciding to finally go in, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. The shop is extremely clean and the staff couldn't be nicer. Extremely personable. We are very picky about who does our work. Just based off Josh's portfolio on Facebook, we took the chance to get new ink. Only wanting Josh to do them. He not only did an amazing job, but when my husband described what he waned to finish his eagle, Jos...h knew immediately what to do. Everyone else wanted to make him a drawing canvas and "hope" they got it right. Met his wife Ericka, and she was also very down to earth and great talking with and they are all around GREAT people. I have two tattoos done at Texas Tattoos and Art Gallery and I will never go anywhere else for future tattoos. The atmoshere is fun,creative and professional. They offer great guidance on placement, size and any other questions you may have. The artist produce originals all the time but are more than willing to consult to help your realize your vision in ink. Very clean which is so important !!!! I always have fun there even while being tattooed! Always new art in the gallery from local artist and concert series from local musicians. My favorite thing though are the prices!
