Diesel did such an amazing and beautiful job on my black and grey bee tattoo. He spent a lot of time and energy making it the best it could be. He genuinely cares about the art and the outcome of his pieces and that is so important to me in finding an artist. He made sure I was comfortable and talked to me through the whole process, which I personally love in an artist. He will 100% be the artist I go back to for every tattoo from now on. I first called them on the phone to see if I needed an appointment and I spoke to Joe, the owner he was very kind and professional, unlike most people that work at a tattle shop. When I went in and showed them what I wanted all of the artists were eager to help me. They were all so nice and helpful. My tattoo turned out great. The shop was.clean and tidy which is always a plus. Also to make things even better, my wife and I had a terrible sunburn, and Joe gave me a whole bottle of medication for our burn. Very kind. John Marshall , Representing Aasylum tattoos in Galveston, TX, at the fort worth tattoo expo, MANGLED my arm at a discount. I asked for a cover up of a small crooked cross on my wrist. He came up with a GREAT image. Turns out its already on someone elses arm. This was supposed to b an" original " its the most painful ,scarred ,pitted tattoo ive ever gotten. IT'S " SIMILAR TO IMAGE" I WAS SHOWN.  After getting it and swelling going down, My arm had several lacerations and deep pitting . My normal artist wants to let it heal 2 more months before touching it. Other artists tellingme they'd lazer it. THIS WAS NOT IN GALVESTON. BUT HE REPRESENTS THEM. When i went to this place i was expecting something completely different then what I got. I had been researching many tattoos establishments in the area because I was going to come down for two tattoos for my birthday. You would think the tattoo artist would know how to do line work and basic shading especially is they are charging you $100 dollars for one tattoo which is actually overpriced compared to other places since its not that big of a tattoo. Long story short i got two cat tattoos one small one in my wrist which was $20 which is fine i mean i would have paid more if it meant they would have done a better job. Now the thing with small tattoos it is easily noticeable when the lines are wonky or passed over more then once. It was a easy tattoo to do so its amazing how managed to mess it up. As for the other one the shading is weird as well as patchy, the cat is not completely shaded after it healed you can see that he didn't even manage to outline correctly or shade it in all the way. Not to mention the moon outline is shaky and ticker in different places while thinner in others. So don't go here if they can't do a basic tattoo do you really think they can achieve a complex tattoo that requires precision and detail. Read Less

Then i heard about Aasylum and decided to give them a try, it was the best, smoothest experience you can have w/cartilage piercings! I literally just got my daith piercing about 2 hours ago & i absolutely LOVE IT!!!I was so nervous/scared but Joe did an awesome job keeping me calm. He talked with me, joked around a bit & BS'd w/me to keep my mind off of the pain and i couldn't believe how fast he was! I'm not going to lie this was a pretty painful piercing but nothing unbearable, I'd say a solid 4 out of 10!It's mostly the pressure that is most uncomfortable in my opinion. I have my tounge, nose, helix, triple forward helix & both tragus done & to me my triple forward helix has been my most painful piercing. But everybody has a different pain tolerance, I'd say i have a fairly high pain tolerance and i definitely felt this one! But enough "blabbering" If you're interested in getting any piercings especially your daith i highly recommend Joe he really does know what he's doing and he recommended Megan to me as well incase he's not available! So I had this ugly tattoo with a name from a previous relationship the really put a cloud over my current marriage, so I wanted a cover up I could never afford one or was told it was not possible to cover . I walked into this shop and Joe came out to greet me, when I told home about what I wanted he just smiled and assured me that it would be easy and not break the bank, so we proceeded in a design and the work. I can now say that I have never been happier with a tattoo or an artist! Joe was amazing, he cracked a lot of jokes to make you feel more comfortable and everything was so clean and professional. I was visiting Galveston for the weekend and had been wanting to get my tragus pierced for a while. My friend who has gotten a few tattoos from this place (and was very pleased with them) recommended that I go here for my piercing. The piercing itself took about 15-20 minutes (which I believe is unusual) and was also extremely uncomfortable/quite painful. Afterwards, I was not even told how to care for my piercing. A week later, the back of my earring popped off so I went to a different piercing parlor to get a replacement and come to find out they hadn't even pierced my tragus in the first place. The piercer told me that where they had pierced was pretty much my face as it was so far forward and that they had gone through a lot of unnecessary tissue/cartilage which is probably why it hurt/took so long. Also, because the post of the earring that was used was so short and my ear was red and inflamed (probably a little infected too) he recommended that I take the piercing out (which I did) and come back to get it repierced when it heals. I am sure, from the reviews, this place is good with their tattoos; however, I was not pleased with my piercing and definitely should have read the reviews before I went as another customer had a similar experience to I. Told them what we wanted, and the guy said he could not do the tat I showed him as the writing was too small. Believe he was too stoned. Guy down the street worked on the artwork and made the tat work beautifully. Cash only place. Blonde girl and unremarkable guy both unbelievably rude. Missed out $$$ from FIVE tattoos! Go elsewhere. I come here pretty often to get tattoos and piercings. Which are typically great, Joe usually does my piercings and I've always been really happy with them, the last few have been done by the two girls though. I went in to get my cartridge pierced and the blonde girl, who has never introduced herself to me once, did it. She had just come in from smoking and didn't wash her hands and freaked of marijuana. She also didn't let me see the Mark on my ear to make sure I liked it which I didn't I took it out and let it heal back up so I could go back In. The second time I went in the girl cassie I believe pierced my nose. She was very sweet, educated, and cleanly. And she did it so fast it didn't even hurt and I really enjoyed it. I came back last week hoping that I could get her to pierce my belly button and even though she greeted me the blonde girl spoke over her. I asked politely if cassie could pierce me this time and she refused rolling her eyes very Rudely and told me she was the only pierced that day even though the other girl was clearly there. I let her anyway, which I really regret now. She once again had come in from smoking didn't wash her hands and this time didn't even mark where to pierce it. I should have know by then to just say never mind and come another day when the other girl or Joe could do it but I let her do it. And now I have a really crooked belly ring that doesn't seem to be deep enough. Its hanging by the smallest bit of skin and I'm so afraid it's going to rip out. I came here with my friend to get our noses pierced on a whim and I couldn't be happier. The piercer Meagan was hilarious, friendly, professional and very fast. She changed gloves like a billion times throughout the time we were there and she kept the area sterile. She's the coolest! I'll definitely be back to her for more piercings. The entire place was super clean, well lit, separate areas for each artist, and smelled like a hospital which is definitely a good thing. I can't wait to get a tattoo here. Don't listen to Dean D. The tattoo parlor is very clean, cleaner than the one I received my nostril piercing from, and infection is NOT the parlor's fault. It is the lack of aftercare from the receiver or an allergic reaction to the metal. Either way, the blame falls on his daughter's shoulders for lack of care. However, enough of that. I had a spur of the moment let's get a tattoo while tanning on the beach with my friend. I knew I wanted the tattoo I just didn't know when. I looked up the best parlors in the area and Aasylum Tattoo popped up. I got "Veni Vedi Vici" tattooed on my ribs by Joe. He made it quick, relatively painless, and extremely fun. I was on a girls weekend with a friend and made an appt here to get matching bff tattoos. These guys were straight up awesome....my friend was super picky and anxious and she was even annoying ME lol but they NEVER made us feel like we were being annoying or silly or stupid. We brought our idea and the artist sketched it out (really wish I could remember his name bc he was awesome and SO patient with my friend! He's doing his apprenticeship at the shop) and kept working on it till it was perfect. Went in with my friend to get best friend tattoos and the people here are actually pretty friendly. We had Profit(yes that is actually his name) as our artist and he was actually cracking jokes the whole time, which made it a whole lot better with my little cry baby friend.
