I first came in the salon on December 31st. I had just had a milestone birthday the day before and really wanted to get my nose pierced before the year ended. I was seen almost instantaneously. I was in and out within 15 minutes. The piercer who took care of me was a little cold, but she got the job done, answered my questions and sent me on my way. Unfortunately, a few weeks later, I had to remove the piercing for an medical appointment and by the time my appointment was over with, the hole had closed. It closed without leaving a noticeable scar. I just went again, two weeks ago, to get the other nostril pierced. This time, the piercer I got was a bit more engaging, and I felt a bit more welcomed. She got the piercing on me first, and my friend right after. She explained how to care for our piercing, what to avoid, and what to look out for. The owner was also very helpful in suggesting which type of jewelry was best, and also answered my questions about piercing the daith and how it  works for migraine relief. It's something I've been considering for a long time, and will get done eventually. When I'm ready to do so, there's no other place I'll go to. The Pin Cushion is the only place I'd ever suggest. I got pierced by this place a few months ago and I was happy until recently when my jewelry all fell out. I then realized that they never bent the bars on my lip stud to make it stay. Spent over $50 on really expensive jewelry because I wanted opals and they never took the 2 minutes to care enough to make sure I got to keep them. I came to The Pin Cushion 3 weeks after getting a piercing from a local tattoo shop. I had developed a pretty gross-looking keloid, and honestly I was really worried that they would make me feel bad or guilty for going to a competitor. The shop was clean and welcoming, and my piercing technician (not sure her name) was so knowledgeable. She explained, without placing blame, that my jewelry was probably too big and I probably have a slight allergic reaction. She helped me pick out new jewelry (which I like better than the jewelry I had initially!) and walked me through what would become my new aftercare routine. I chose The Pin Cushion for several reasons. They work solely on body piercings, it's an all female staff (and owner), and they had the highest ratings around. The shop is adorable with a relaxing atmosphere, and the girls were all very friendly and patient, despite the fact that the place was hoppin' with business. Sweet Marchita did my earlobe piercings and I'm in LOVE with the end result! My original piercings have always been crooked and it really bothered me. I am so thrilled with finding this place! They did SUCH a great job on my tragus and my husband's lobe piercings. The place was absolutely packed on a Saturday (which is a good sign), but we didn't wait long as they were efficient and had great customer service. Absolutely love this place!! I decided to get my first "advanced piercing" cause I'm a senior in high school and  always thought it was cute. I got a double helix done on my left ear and I had a great experience. Tana was so sweet kept me and my friends calm and really loved how she did my piercings. I love this place! I got my rook piercing here a couple years ago and had a pleasant experience, and just a week ago I got my conch pierced by Tana! Edit:Melody called me and wanted to know what exactly happened, and how she could make it better. I appreciated her reaching out to me. It's just unfortunate that some of the staff doesn't seem to care much, while others did (like melody). Man after all the amazing reviews, I hate to have to share my experience. I didn't get the "amazing" experience that's shared here. When I walked in, there were about 8 people in front of me (on a Tuesday night). The girl at the front desk (I believe her name was crystal) didn't look up, smile, or anything. She said "drivers license and what can we do for you?" Very rudely. I had some questions and she did nothing to help ease me. I told her I wanted a daith piercing and 2 lobes. I told her I get sensitive to cheap jewelry so I'm not sure. She rolled her eyes and said well you can choose between surgical steel or titanium. Titanium is $10 more. So I said I wanted titanium. But wasn't really confident in that choice. The ear piercer melody was sweet and great. And fast! Way faster than I thought it would be. It hurt, but I survived. I followed all after care procedures and unfortunately my ear swelled about 4 times it's normal size. And got infected. I came in to have it checked, and was told the jewelry looked fine, but to stop cleaning it more than 2x a day. (I was doing 4-5). Came in the next day because it was worse and then was told by a different piercer that my jewelry was too small. I asked her to just take it out. Her response, "well, don't be surprised if you get a migraine immediately then". And seemed annoyed at me! I told her I had talked to my doctor, and my body seemed to be rejecting the earring (it rejects most foreign objects). She told me my doctor knew nothing about piercings (my doctor is the one who told me to try a daith piercing!). Within 10 min of getting it out, it felt like my ear was deflating. The pain went from a 9-10 to a 3. Instantly. So I know it was the piercing. Read Less

I live within walking distance of this establishment. I've probably been in four times, but have only had one service done here. It was a re-piercing and I must have gotten lucky that day. The most inconvenient thing about this place is the lack of available appointments and the huge wait. If you are in there outside of 8-5 Monday through Friday you are bound to find a waiting room full of girls, their moms, and twenty-somethings. I asked to book an appointment and found out I can get one three weeks out but she only takes appointments on Mondays and Wednesdays. There seems to be only one piercer working this super busy shop. on a whim, I decided I wanted to get my ears pierced and stopped by on the weekend. I showed up a few minutes before they opened and there were already a few people waiting by the door. I quickly got in line and by the time they opened their doors, there were at least 10 people waiting.once they opened, the whole staff was there waiting and each went down the line and immediately started helping the next customers to see what they were wanting and passing out the paperwork they needed to fill out. as we were filling out the paperwork, they went to their respective rooms and prepped their stations with what they would need for their customer. by the time I was done with my paperwork, my girl was ready and waiting for me. she took me to her room and marked my ears. she let me check the placement and even took out a caliper to measure the distance between my existing piercings to make sure that they were even. once I was satisfied, I laid down and she made quick work of it. she handed me a pamphlet with care instructions and led me back to the front counter to pay. I want to say the entire experience took less than 15 minutes, it was so efficient. my piercings healed nicely and I've had no issues. i'll definitely be coming back for more piercings in the future! Got my septum pierced here, it's perfect! I love the placement and it was done very professionally. Pain was about a 2/10 as she actually pierced the "sweet spot" of the septum. This is the most incredible piercing place ever! I wanted to get my nipples done for a long time but I always felt uncomfortable about where I was going dirty tattoo shops or inexperienced dude on my lady bits? no thanks! I thought I was never gonna find the right place until I flew out to Dallas to see my man, and he found this little gem. It's clean and so cute! The people who work here are so sweet and welcoming, but unfortunately I was just told by a different piercer that the industrial bar I got here was done completely wrong-- wrong gauge, too shallow-- and won't be able to heal correctly. When I originally asked the Pin Cushion about the bar healing badly, I was told by an employee to just put tea tree oil on it-- which the new piercer I talked to immediately said was a bad idea. Now, I have to take out the bar and wait for it to heal before just getting it repierced somewhere else. I even told the new piercer it was probably my fault for not doing my research on the gauge first, but she assured me that the piercer should have known and that it's their responsibility to do it correctly. I'm sure their other piercings are great, but if you decide to get an industrial here, make sure the bar is 14 gauge and placed correctly!EDIT: I know that anatomy varies from person to person, but my auricle is wide enough to have fit the bar. Instead, the externally threaded bar was put through the back of my ear (too shallow). !! The bar is too shallow FOR my anatomy, the piercing is not shallow BECAUSE of my anatomy. !!A picture is attached for reference after the bar was removed. It looks more like a helix than anything. My wife got her upper ear pierced and sure enough a month later, we go to get it removed due to constant pain, and sure enough it was in the wrong position. 1 month of pain, 60 bucks later and no piercing. Melody is awesome at what she does! Got my bellybutton and second lobe piercings done by her, and I usually don't do well with needles -- however under her care I didn't even break a sweat. My first piercing with Kim was at the old location inside a shared building among other small businesses/salons. It was such a pain to find, but well worth it which is why I came back to her a year later for my cartilage piercings.The current location is hard to spot from the road and has a very strange parking situation-cramped and almost nonexistent (one star off). Once you get over that, the whole experience makes it all worthwhile. You walk in, check-in with a description of what you want, and then wait (payment after service is complete). Kim walks you back to a small, sanitary room and does her magic! I'm picky about placement and she works with me until I feel it's absolutely right. I went around 4 months ago to get my belly button pierced and it was a really good experience. I was a walk in and luckily nobody was waiting so it went by super fast. The ladies were super nice and patient even when I told her I needed a few seconds to get the jitters out. Piercing can be traumatic, but fears are calmly eased at The Pin Cushion. I've been pierced by each piercer, including owner Kimberly, and every experience was nothing less than fantastic. The rotating front desk staff is always friendly, helpful and patient... even when the shop is incredibly busy. Prices for piercings and upgraded jewelry are really decent compared to other shops. I got my second lobe piercings as well as a cartilage piercing done here back in March, and they've far exceeded my expectations. The staff was very attentive to my questions regarding earring metals and the needles used (prior to my visit I'd only gone to places like Claire's and had some bad reactions to the metals, and I've always been a bit squeamish around needles). She even helped me reopen my regular lobe piercing that had closed up since I'd long given up on trying to put anything in my ears. I would 100% recommend. Found this gem while finding a place to get a triple helix done and it is the bomb! Walked into the place and was greeted by the front desk. I'm not sure what her name was but she was really nice and helpful. I arrived about 15 mins after they just opened and there was about 6 people in front of me waiting to get pierced. Even with so many clients, the line was going pretty fast, taking about 15 mins per client. When I met the piercer Kimberly, she made me feel really comfortable and explained everything in great detail. I was out in less then 10 minutes with my new cute bling. The total cost without gratituity for a triple helix was $75, super affordable  compared to other piercing spots. They also sell really cute jewelery for all piercing spots if needed. Kimberly is absolutely amazing! She did my navel piercing, my triples and my two cartilage piercings. She walks you threw the whole process and is super sweet and calm. Everything is clean and reasonable priced. She is VERY easy to contact if you have questions before or after your piercing, and will fix any problems if you have any (though I doubt you will). Today I finally worked up my courage to get the daith piercing for my migraines. I've suffered from migraines for about 15 years now and recent have had a couple that left me in bed for the entire day and causing me to miss work due to being so sick. Well today I finally told myself it was time to do it. I brought my best friend with me as back up to make sure I didn't wimp out. I had read several reviews both on Facebook and Yelp! when I was looking at coming here. I will ha...ve to say our experience was nothing but perfect. Cute and relaxing atmosphere and Kimberly helped to also ease some of my nervousness. Much to my surprise it only hurt for the time it took for her to pierce it and felt just pressure when she put the jewelry in. I had been dealing with a slightly dull headache that had been coming and going all morning. While my best friend was getting hers done it dawned on me that my headache was gone. As the day has gone on I've also noticed that I don't feel near as much tension in my neck and shoulders. So far so good so here's to hoping for continued success. Last week, my girlfriend and I went to the Pin Cushion for piercings. She wanted a daith piercing (to treat chronic migraines), and I wanted my septum re-pierced. The receptionist was well-educated, outgoing, and charismatic. The shop is clean and welcoming to all types of people. We were both thoroughly impressed. Kimberly pierced both of us. She did a great job of calming our nerves. She is highly-skilled, professional, and respectful to clients. I went in for the apprentice training, so my piercing was discounted, but I did not feel like my experience was. They were very thorough, explained the entire process, talked me through all the steps. Even my husband mentioned how clean, light, and welcoming the studio was. I went to The Pin Cushion few days ago for a tragus piercing. The wait time was pretty short, and the lobby area is super cute and open. There was a receptionist to greet you, get you signed in & a form filled out, plus give you an aftercare instruction sheet. Kimberly cleans the room after every client, and she is really good about explaining the piercing procedure. She has a great, calming demeanor for this type of business. Let's face it, people are nervous when they come in!My tragus piercing was painless and fast. I only felt lots of pressure. Kimberly told me to take a few deep breaths during, which helped to calm any nerves I had. I chose the upgraded sparkle jewelry so my total cost (without gratuity) was $40. I researched having my daith pierced for migraines and learned it could also help with anxiety. (I suffer with both) My migraines were increasing in frequency so I decided to give the daith piercing a try. I messaged Kimberly a few times on Facebook and she was quick to respond. The inside of her studio was very clean and inviting. (I love the studed, tufted pink benches) I got a little nervous while waiting for my turn but the receptionist kept reassuring me and there was an...other person having the same piercing done so we chatted each other up. Kimberly called me back and explained everything she was doing. I didn't have a migraine at the time but I did have severe neck pain. When the piercing went in it initially hurt and there was a lot of pressure, but next I felt what I can only describe as euphoria! The pain in my neck went away instantly and I felt so relaxed and happy after. It felt like a weight was lifted from my body. I still feel very relaxed 2 days later and I planning on getting the other ear done very soon. Kimberly very professional and explained how to care for the piercing during the healing process. I haven't had my ear pierced since I was 6 at Claire's in my local mall.I've never had a cartilage done, and I was nervous because piercings are so often equated with pain.I was especially nervous to learn that it'd be needle-only piercing, rather than gun piercing, since that's all I'd ever had. I was under the impression that needle piercing was a longer, more painful process.Truth be told, when I walked in, I didn't expect a girly, chic place. I thought it'd just be a dodgy little tattoo/piercing parlor, but it exceeded all my expectations. The decor is FAB - blue and pink, with adorable accent colors. Kimberly told me she designed it herself - what great taste.It was clean, and smelled pleasant. The rooms were uncluttered and there were clearly marked biohazard bins in an accessible place.I actually waited longer in the lobby (filling papers and getting processed since I was a first-timer) than the entire piercing procedure took. Kimberly said she'd be right with me, but that she wanted to wash her hands first - as a former food service worker, I know first hand how much customers appreciate hearing this phrase. I sat down on the chair, Kimberly poked my ear with a toothpick to mark the place for the puncture, and then I laid down.There were clamps and a pinch, and it was done.All for less than $40, stud included! Crazy affordable! I honestly expected to pay $60 and upward.Kim said I was welcome to take pictures of the lobby, so those will be included. Plus they sell jewelry in-house, as well as antibacterial natural soap with a saline wound wash (although they recommended other places I could get it as well).You can really tell that the girls here care more about the customer more than making a buck.Now, Kim did warn me about how sore the piercing would get. I thought I'd be ok since I normally experience less pain than most people generally do...but WOW she wasn't kidding.
