My wife now has 3 tattoos from 3 different artists here and they're all great! Chelsea and Ashlee are very talented artists and apprentice Claire is starting off very strong! I myself have one small piece from Chelsea, but have some ideas for more. The owner is a real nice guy too. The location couldn't be cooler! The actual neighborhood isn't great as of yet, but it's a very up and coming area. The building, though, is amazing! The old metal ceilings and the exposed brick have such a nice look. Clean place nice people. But my simple cover up turned into the artist redrawing the entire picture I asked for. And the One detail I needed done a thumb nail size red heart in my picture was Not complete. This was the highest part of my tattoo. Artist said he was only "allotted" my 2 hours worth of time. This red heart would have only taken 5 min MAX, unable to finish the red heart is a unfinished tattoo. Ive had 3 other tattoos costing the same $250.00 and they were finished. Why mr. Deeb didn't complete this heart way beyond my knowledge. He said he'd do it for free when i came back in for another piece. Wow $250.00 and the smallest "red heart cost him my future business. I had a great experience at Fade To Black Studio this weekend. This is a very nice and clean shop that really has a boutique feel to it. It's not your typically tattoo place as there are no "things to chose" on the wall and they seem to take pride in custom work. A friend works in the area and is into tattoos and recommend giving this place a shot as she had heard good things. After reaching out I was put in contact with Scotty to discuss my work. We set a couple of hours for a consultation and work. The consultation took a little longer than expected and I was on a schedule, so Scotty asked if I'd come back because he didn't want to rush anything. Although this was kinda frustrating I instantly had more confidence in him as my artist as he is not just in it for the money and wanted to get it done right. He was extremely accommodating to my schedule and let me come in on Sunday to get the work done. He got me just what I wanted and was even patient with me and my OCD on getting the location just right. I love that he listened to what I wanted and brought his artistic ability to the piece. I am visiting from SoCal and loved the vibe of Fort Worth. It reminded me of Oceanside Beach town vibe. Lots of places to hang. I happened upon Fade to black and wanted to get an old tat repaired. I met Chance at the shop and he was more than helpful and patient. He drew it out for me and it came out better than it did originally. I would highly recommend the staff at fade to black as they all are very hospitable and friendly. 5 stars for atmosphere, staff, cool people, and the downtown vibe. I've come into this shop 3 times since they have opened. The first two times were with a friend for her first tattoo. Both times we felt welcomed into this fun shop.The third time I visited was for my own tattoo (my first). I came for the event they had a few weeks ago where you donated canned goods and got a free 3 in tattoo. Chance did my whale tattoo and I showed him a few pictures of the style I liked and he took it from there and I love it more and more.
