I just got tattooed here for the first time tonight. It's safe to say I will be getting future tattoos here. Alden did my tattoo and I'm obsessed! She's still an apprentice under Robert but she is already an amazing tattoo artist. I am extremely impressed with her work and her customer service. I've been getting tattooed by Thomas for around 6 years. He's covered both of my arms, my chest and torso, and most of my knuckles. He's also done 2 coverups that are flawless. He's been the easiest tattooer to work with, I give him a general idea of what I'm going for and give him the freedom to make it his own. He has an incredible way of approaching tattoos and how they're placed on your body so I trust him on what he says I can and can't do with my ideas. My wife, along with many other referrals have gone to him after they've seen his work on me. The other tattooer are always friendly and also do killer jobs on their own tattoos. I have been following Thomas since 2011 and he is now at Suffer City. Thomas and the other artists are so welcoming and personable. The shop is very clean and has a very relaxed environment. Thomas does beautiful work and makes you feel so comfortable. His line work is immaculate. Thomas is special because if he feels that an aspect of your idea might work better and look better on a different part of your body, or maybe a brighter color scheme, or simplifying it to really make it stand out, he's very honest and is open to your input. So I have gotten 2 of my newest tattoos here and they do a great job. A friend suggested Andy to me and So I found him on Instagram and messaged him. He was very prompt with getting back to me. My tattoo artist Daniel Gerbis has recently moved over here to Suffer City. I was able to schedule a last minute consultation last week to talk about my ideas and make my first appointment for Sunday. I am in LOVE with his interpretation of what I had in mind. He went above and beyond what I wanted. Monday I came back to do the outline on the inside of my arm and I'm leaving just as pleased. Everybody who works here is helpful and polite. They offer water or other drinks while you wait and get tattooed. So pleased with my experience and I highly recommend stopping by and seeing Daniel. I was here last Saturday for an appointment with Andy and this shop is honestly amazing. Super clean and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Andy was great I told him a vague idea of what I wanted  (an owl on my forearm with roses) and what he drew up was perfect. I could not be happier with it. It's healing up nicely and I pretty much can't stop staring at it because it's so pretty. Since Saturday I have gotten so many compliments on the piece he did for me. Great shop with great artists! I went in the day before to set up my appointment for for the next day and to talk about what I wanted so they could get started on a sketch. I showed up the next day for my appointment and looked at what he had for ne. While it was a good design, it wasn't exactly the style I wanted, no worries though, Taylor and Andy immediately got to work on a new design for me and an hour later it was ready. Can't recommend this studio enough.  Excellent artists, and I have trusted lots of work to this studio - including two full sleeves, and have recommended and brought many friends and family members with me to this studio for their own work and all walked away with nothing but high regards to the staff and professionalism of the staff.  I have never experienced any rudeness or negative experiences in this studio.  Always walk away happy and excited and I have over 30 hours of chair time here with multiple artist.  They will continue to be my go to studio as i continue to build my collection.  People complaining about bad attitudes probably came in with a bad attitude.  Staff is very professional and creative.  Highly recommended. Let's get something's straight from the start.The people that have left reviews don't really even understand what to look for in a tattoo.The simple fact is, this isn't even near the best tattoo shop in Dallas.It is in the bottom 20 out of 300+ shopsThe staff is rude!!The counter help was polite and nice.But as far as the tattoo work.It is just bad, and I really do mean that.Look at it well and pick it apart.Notice things that count.And when you do that, you will see why it ranks as low as it does.Just stay away, and find one of the other shops in Dallas that does do good work with a nice and polite staff, and tattoo artists that really have experience in what they are doing. Don't go to this place unless you want a rushed tat that needs to be redone, or if you want to be treated like a lowly pedestrian looking for a tat. Walked in, and got treated like they are some tat gods on a pedestal or something. After getting treated like shit by a punk teen named Taylor, Chris decided to do my tat. It was very important to me as a remembrance for my mother. It was just a quote. Went home and noticed he didn't dot 4 i's and or cross 4 T's. Ridiculous. That's one of the first things you should know, and he rushed on it it. GO TO CONTRABAND TATTOO on PEAVY RD. That's where the true pros are. Why doesn't this place have more reviews? I got a great, simple tattoo here, super quick and easy. My friend and I both got pricing that was worth a little further drive.I hope they can expand at some point, because two of the artists were sharing a room, and I think that led to more waiting around than was necessary. The only thing was, we got there an hour after the place opened on a Saturday, we were the only walk-ins they had, and still ended up having to wait 2-3 hours even starting the tattoo because none of the artists had come in to work yet. If you are in the mood for a shitty tattoo after a night of drinking THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. On the other hand, if you want one of the best tats you can get in this city with quality work, a clean environment and honest feedback to make sure you get the best art for you body, then look no further. Suffer has done several tats on me so far and I love that they definitely have an understanding of how to tattoo African Americans and I've never had an issue with ink falling out or extended healing times. Stephen's anal retentive level seriousness has ensured he has some of the best staff available and yes, they are real artist. I did an extensive amount of research because I wanted something beautiful and intricate, not traditional, and I seriously couldn't find ANYONE in the Dallas metro-plex area who could deliver like her..I mean seriously Google Suffer City and then look at Jamie's art- it speaks for itself. The other guys in there are great at their own style(traditional). Everyone is very friendly. It came highly recommended from friends of mine, and have gone there several times to get work done. The employees go far beyond that of any other shop I've been to, are friendly and make you feel at home, and spent alot of time making sure I got something I liked, even though I didn't know exactly what I wanted when I came in. The only drawback was that it took a long time to do, but it was relatively painless, and WELL worth it :) I highly reccomend it to anyone wanteing to get a tat in Dallas. Read Less

read reviews & chose SC because it was highly recommended. I dropped off my design 3 weeks ago & never heard from them again as promised. I was told it would take 3-4 days to draw it up then they would email me the draft. I called after 2 weeks and again after 3 weeks and was told that they are just too busy. They blew me off when I called (twice). No one bothered to call to keep me updated on the delay. I'm just glad I didn't pay first. I drove over 40 minutes back to the studio (which was empty) and the manager said he didn't have time ""to mess"" with emailing my design. He showed me what was drawn so far. It must have been done in 5 minutes the day I called because it was TRACED directly off of my papers that I showed the ""artist"". He didn't even put his own skill or artistry into it.
