OMG what a terrible experience. The tattoo "artist" Drew (ironically) couldn't draw his way out of a pre-k tracing contest. You'd think with all those tattoos he'd be able to trace a very simple cross. Took 4 tries. After which my wife decided to get her septum piercing. Of course this guy was the only one available. I took my daughter here for her first piercing a couple years ago.  We came back this past Sunday, 3/24/19, to get a couple tattoos. This was her first tattoo.Connelly was our artist. Taylor Dixon at Cedar Springs Tattoo is the man. He gave me exactly what I wanted, and I didn't know what I wanted. He's a great guy and cares about his work. He free-handed the snake on my arm with a pen before tattooing it and I couldn't be happier. I gave him an idea for the alien and he took off with his own design and made it perfect. Every tattoo with Taylor is individualized, so don't take him a copy of someone else's work expecting a replica, that's not what it's all about. My friends and I were feeling spontaneous and wanted to get various ear piercings done on a Saturday afternoon. We did some research and I saw the good reviews and they take walk ins. The inside has cool decor, a nice waiting area, and we filled out the standard forms. The room itself for the piercings was very clean and Eric was very patient and knowledgeable. He pierced the 4 of us (6 piercings total) in about 35 minutes including a breakdown of cleaning and care. He's awesome! I'll definitely come back here because I have had no issues at all! Do not recommend for septum piercings.I went in to get my septum repierced. I had gotten it checked at another studio while getting my nostril pierced and I know it was ~3/4 of the way still open, it was just the left side that needed to be repierced.I told this to the piercer and that I'd like the same hole done. He kind of brushed me off and agreed while not really paying attention to anything I was saying.I laid still and let the piercing happen, trusting him to do his job correctly.I'm now a week into having my septum pierced and I can't get over how crooked the piercing is.It also isn't through the hole I had previously. I can feel that hole towards the tip of my nose.The new piercing is crooked and closer to my face than the tip of my nose. The left side is very close to my face while the right side is closer to the tip of my nose, not far from the original hole.I would not recommend this place as I now wasted money on this piercing and have excess holes in my nose.I will likely be removing this piercing as it is done so poorly and it's embarrassing how crooked and awful it is.Go other places for your septum wants because this place doesn't care about you or what the piercing looks like. I went in here on a Saturday night and I think they must have thought I was drunk or something? They didn't give me a price before my piercing, and afterward, they charged way more than they should've and asked for cash only. (What if I hadn't had any cash?) The piercing guy basically just stabbed my ear with a big needle, he gave it 0 thought, he was talking to his buddies the whole time, and he blew me off when I tried to tell him I'm allergic to most metals, he said stainless steel is hypoallergenic, but guess what? It is now infected. He told me it was implant grade like I was an idiot. And then they gave me this long lecture on how they'll come back and fix any piercing AS LONG AS ITS THEIRS...and they didn't give me a receipt...the whole thing was sketchy, and now my ear really hurts and I'm pissed. I got my first tattoo last night with Stephanie. She made the process SO easy and amazing. I walked in with an idea and a meaning, and she really helped me synthesize a tattoo that I will be able to cherish for the rest of my life. I have 9 tattoos total. Some solid black and some with color. I have never ever had a problem with tattoo care and have never had an infection. I recently got a tattoo here about a week ago and it is absolutely infected and my arm is in so much pain. My friend and I both got tattoos from the same artist and both of ours are painful and infected. He pushed way to hard on the skin and I now have the worst tattoo I could imagine. Whitney fixed my nose ring for me after the shape and fitting got messed up. She re-shaped my titanium hoop into a perfect circle and then fit it back into my nose. I barely felt anything! I have been getting tattooed since about 1995 and have been a customer of this shop (getting both tattoos and piercings) since about 2002, when it was operating under a different name and located around the corner from its current location.  I have been tattooed by some really great tattoo artists at this shop as well as other shops in various cities around the U.S. and I can honestly say that I have never met a tattoo artist that was more arrogant, rude, and condescending than Mark Merchant, currently tattooing at this shop.  Because of Mark this shop lost a loyal customer.  On a positive note, he did return my $50 deposit so at least I can use it as a deposit elsewhere. Her space was very clean and I came back and saw her 2-months later for her to switch out my piercing with a new jewelry piece and she was still great to work with.  Will be going back again as I am working on (slightly) stretching out the upper ear cartilage piercing to a larger hoop and I feel most comfortable having Sandra work on this with me. This place fucking sucks, I literally just went in to change my nose ring and the girl named Sandra, which I do not recommended because she's rough as hell and has an attitude and is rude as hell. I came in to change my nose ring and now I don't have a nose ring thanks to her. She was changing my hoop to a stud peircing, she was changing my piercing and now I have a big ass keloid on the inside of my nose, I did not have this keloid when I walked in to get my jewelry changed, I told her over and over that she was hurting me and was being very rough, and she told me " it's not about being gentle or rough, it's about where you got your nose piercing changed.She was trying to force the jewelry in when I continuously told her that she was hurting me... everyone here is rude as fuck. I had my very first tattoo done by Jerimiah on August 18, 2016. I decided to go all out and get a half sleeve. My first impression of the shop was that it's very clean, their staff are really nice and it was nice and cool inside. Jerimiah has a very soft hand, and checked on me often, considering that it was my first tattoo. He is a very nice guy, is able to multi task like a mofo, people were coming in and out of his room talking to him and he didn't hesitate once. I go back for the shading this week and have never been more excited. He has a great sense of humor, which is nice considering I was sitting with him for 3 hours. My two friends and I decided to get tattoos during a recent girls trip to Dallas. After having lunch we found this shop on Yelp. We waited a little over an hour for the  tattoo artist to finish up with another customer. When he finally finished, he came out and looked as us, without any acknowledgement. He asked the lady behind the front desk who was next and she pointed at us, he looked over at us and then walked to the back. After about another 10 mins, he came back to the front and asked what we were getting. We showed him a picture of a simple infinity symbol and he said ok and turned around and walked to the back, again. We didn't know whether to follow him or what, so we did. When he noticed us behind him, he rudely said "I have to draw it first, just sit." So... We gave a blank stare and walked back to the front. One of my friends started to get uncomfortable and suggested that we find another place, but we figured we had waited this long, might as well get it over with. After about another 30-40 mins the guy came back to the front and told us to follow him. Keep in mind, he never showed us the design or asked us if it was what we wanted until he was about to permanently place it on our bodies. One of my friends noticed the design and said she wanted to add something to it because it was a little plain. He rudely asked what she wanted and he said he would freehand it... Since it was a small change, she agreed. We each tried to make small talk with him, but it was a waste. After he finished with the three of us, we went to the front, paid, and left. I wish I could add his name to the review, but he never introduced himself to us. Fast forward two weeks later, my tattoo has completely healed. This is my eighth one, so yes, I'm sure it's healed. This morning when I looked at it, I noticed that it is very "skipped up". The ink is not smooth and it's very choppy. There are spots where there's absolutely no ink. I am very dissatisfied with the way it looks. It's only about a two inch tattoo, and it's all one color. I would guess it's kinda hard to mess this up, but low and behold, I have a botched tattoo.UPDATE: 11/15/2016I just noticed the "response" from the owner.  He stated that my photo was of "unhealed secondary skin". It's rather ironic that 6 months later, my small tattoo looks the exact same... botched.  i guess it's still not "completely healed".  As stated in my review, my friends and I were on a girls trip, hence we do not live in Dallas so I am unable to come back to your shop in the near future for a "touch up".  I expected it to be done correctly the first time. She was very reassuring that I had nothing to be nervous about and gave me the "aftercare" information to read while she set up.Once ready, Ava made sure that I was comfy and ready for the piercings. Taylor Moran did my tattoo, and boy mine is atrocious. It's not at all what I asked for, drew out for him or agreed to. His attitude and demeanor and professionalism are piss poor. It's uneven, larger than I wanted, the detail bleeds together and 11 days later, is still healing but overall the worst tattoo I've had and close to the worst detail I've seen. He wasted about an hour talking about his political views, other members of the shop that take business from him and direct to other artists (luckily for the customer!)I wanted a simple anchor on my forearm, with the Buddhist dharma wheel atop it as the stock and shackle piece.  I'd paid before he did it, which was a whole other uncomfortable fiasco of him having a conversation with himself, at me, about how much to charge. Mine took less than half an hour and was $125. As he progressed putting permanent ink onto my arm, I came to terms with the fact that this will have to be fixed by another artist later on. Go to someone else. Anyone else.Fly to Seattle and go see Khalil at Fist Full of Metal. Go see Josh at J. Hall & Co. Gentleman Tattooers. Treat yourself to Spartacus Durant in Deep Ellum. Read Less
