Laura is gentle, careful, and totally competent! I chose her because of her medical credentials and the good reviews online. They were warranted! I decided to do eyeliner tattooing because I keep getting eye infections, and having to throw out all my makeup each time was getting expensive. I love the idea of rolling out of bed with eyeliner on and not really needing anything else! Plus I think I'll get fewer infections now that I don't need to wear eyeliner daily.I think people have all kinds of reactions to the pain -- I knew that this would hurt for me because I'm the kind of person that even the anesthetic at the dentist didn't keep me from feeling horrible pain when my wisdom teeth were taken out. But Laura is really gentle and checks in with you constantly. She kept applying the topical as I kept complaining about the pain, and it did get better. But I know some people say it's just a tickle. For me it felt like a spiked tractor was running over my eyelids. It really depends on the person. I still don't feel like it was as painful as a tattoo on a bony area would be -- partly because it's a small tattoo and relatively fast (about 45 min for my two eyes) and partly because tattoo on bone, ouch.I had seen example pics on the general internet (not Laura's website) and didn't like all the examples I saw -- some were way too dark or unnatural or just looked like bad makeup jobs, so I was a little nervous, but when Laura handed me the mirror afterwards, I was so happy! It looked awesome. Even better than when I put normal eyeliner on myself, haha. Some of the pigment fell off after the first session (which she warned me about), and I was a little sad about that, because I had only a very thin line left, but she does a free touchup, which for me was basically just doing it again. I knew the second time to ask for it to be a little darker and thicker than I expected it to turn out. It's been two days, and so far it looks great! I iced the first time and didn't the second, so I wonder if that has affected how much the tattoo stayed. My eyes were actually less swollen the second time too, so maybe I iced too long and irritated my eyes.Another great thing about Laura is that when I texted her with questions and worries afterwards, she was really patient to answer me. I went to see my eye doctor shortly after my tattooing, and he said that she stayed well away from the wetline and did a really good, safe job. For me that seals the deal, since I'd read about some tattooists going onto the wetline and causing permanent damage. But Laura knows what she is doing. I have sensitive eyes so he did give me drops for inflammation to help my eyes recover. I would advise that someone have a doctor they can go to quickly afterwards if they have any worries; there was nothing really wrong with me, but seeing my doctor helped me feel at ease that everything was ok and my eyes just needed a few days to recover from the swelling. In summary, Laura is amazing! I'm so happy I did this! Here's to a future of slovenly living and rolling out of bed and out the door with no makeup!*2 weeks later*The eyeliner stayed put this time and looks absolutely fabulous! ZERO regrets. This was legit one of the best decisions I've ever made. I really think that I iced too long the first time and maybe that also caused some of the pigment to fall out; so glad Laura offers the free touch-up. So now I wear pretty much no makeup but lipstick and feel like I look fine; if I want to glam it up more I can always add shadow and mascara and foundation, but I really don't feel like I need it for daily life. It is so weirdly wonderful to just wash my face and go to bed without having to remove makeup! or to wake up and feel like I look good right off the bat. If or when this ever fades, I'm definitely doing it again! Read Less
