I went to get a simple cartilage piercing. When I requested to see where it was marked, I was told, “Well, I already sterilized it. Thought you already told me where you wanted it “ ... even though I asked again to see the placement. when I asked for a stud instead of of hoop, I was told no. The placement was WAY OFF!!!! WAY OFF! I went and got a nose piercing and he did not pierce where I said too. I went back to get it repierced (free of charge) I wasn't gonna pay anyway because this second go 'round it was like he was angry that I didn't like it so he smushed the ring into my nose .. so it's tighter than it was at first . Omg never go! Not even if its the last shop on earth i got matching tattoos with my cousin and they look totally different, foolishly i went back to get my nipples pierced and my left nipple ring is crooked and not pierced deep enough so its sitting right underneath my thin layer of skin. I received bad quality ink and a bad botched tattoo. Think twice!!! And the sentence you see saying good price for good tattoo on reviews..they also took my review and posted the first sentenc because it sounded good but didnt include the rest of the review. I went to get a home made tattoo of a cross made into a rose back in 1979/80 at mikes tatoo shop on Calder. I was 16 YEAR OLD AND HAD TO HAVE A NOTE FROM MY MOM. LOL. Drove to my friends to come with me. A JEHOVAH WITNESSES CAME TO THE DOOR .MY GIRLFRIEND LET HER IN AND THE J. W. LADY DROVE US TO TATOOSHOP. I COULDNT BELIEVE THIS WAS HAPPENING. But OK go with it. WHEN we WENT IN MIKE WAS MORE INTERESTED IN TALKING TO THE J. W . Lady then my tatoo. So he had John do it. John had just started. I had no clue. He put a rose over the cross instead of using the cross as a stem and leaves. It ended up dark but not bad for a new guy. Plus covering up dark blue. He put a star and a L that looked like the L on Lavern and shirley show. I was at the mall years later and a lady noticed my tattoo(on my arm) and said John did your tatoo. I told her the story and she said "we use to let him practice on people back then". What? I was an under age female getting a cover up on My Arm. Am I the only one that thinks that's nuts? Anyway I had music notes put around it at chucks in the 90s. I never knew what happen to john til tonight. I was at waffle house in vidor and saw a guy I thought I knew. The lady told me who he was. I still didn't put it together til I read a review about the star. So john if you remember a blonde you covered up a cross on back in mikes tattoo shops days and a blonde at waffle house about 3am in vidor. 8/2/16 That was me. . Sabrina. idk what all these other comments are talking about but this place is trash. it looks very unsanitary I'm pretty sure we've all had the same needles put to our skin. he puts a star within the tattoo so people knows he did it, the color fades and mine blistered up and got infected that night. his lines aren't straight if you really look at them and is gun is homemade I wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy Read Less

I just let tattoo John and he did an amazing job he wanted me to inform you that the big guy you are talking about does not work there it is just one of his friends and John is the piercer and the tattoo artist. He said if he would have known he was being rude to you he would have kick him out and he's super sorry about that. When I went in to get my septum done they asked what I wanted & I told them. Well I ended up forgetting my ID (STUPID ME!!) so I was going to leave & there is a pretty big guy who works there that made it seem like I was an idiot. He just kept asking me in front of everyone "seriously how do you forget your ID??) Like ok I already know I messed up. Then my husband & I went outside to get back on our motorcycle(I have him wear a helmet cause he was in a wreck & would have died if he didn't have one on) anyways & the guy asked us why & I told him & he goes well I sure see who wears the pants. He was a very rude & disrespectful guy. They have lost my service cause he is the man piercer. Oh well I would not recommend to anyone. The prices are great, John is a great artist. Takes a few liberties with how he does the designs, but he knows what he's doing. The tattoo room is clean, but there are quite a few spider/cob webs in the waiting room. I've gotten four tattoos and my tongue pierced by him. Out of all of those I only have an issue with one tattoo, and the only issues I have are that the banner isn't even and you can't tell that the word on it is "Hope". Everything has healed wonderfully, except this one. But I just got it a few days ago, and it's well on it's way. When you go, be stern with what colors you want. Other than that, it's a great place!
