I have been working with Annie for the past couple of months to get a new Tattoo as a part of a gift certificate I received while doing a local bike race. Working with her was fantastic. From the first conversation to the final outcome, I have been thoroughly pleased. She worked with me to create a unique, but identifiable homage to one of my favorite breweries, Stone Brewing. While in the shop, people around who were familiar with the brand were easily able to notice the inspiration, but also see the unique touch that Annie was able to bring to it. The process in chair was about 3 hours, in which the flow of the shop was great. The people coming in and out had some great ideas and the rest of the crew was very friendly and upbeat. I can't say enough good things about this gem of a tattoo shop on Chicon. It's warm and inviting, the customer service is stellar and my entire experience was nothing short of amazing. I walked in anticipating a short consultation and getting something scheduled as I know this shop is pretty booked. However, as my luck would have it, new to Austin Nick was taking walk-ins and graciously obliged my request to be tattooed right then. We worked through my design together and he took the time to really listen and understand what I wanted. My tattoo looks awesome and I love it! Nick was fantastic. I just got my second tattoo done yesterday by Scott Ellis, and it was great! My mom had almost all of her tattoos done by him (she has at least 50 if not more!), and with her recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer I knew I wanted to get one to honor her. Scott did an amazing job not only with the artwork, but also with dealing with my talkative, nervous self! All staff were friendly and inviting, and the place was just as wonderfully kept as the first time I went in about 7-8 years ago. Annie Alonzi was my first large piece tattoo artist! She gave me the dopest ladyhead around. She took a lot of time answering my questions, and talked me through the whole session. It was a difficult thing to overcome with my social anxiety but she made the whole experience easier and I highly recommend that you go to her for a fly ass ladyhead. The sister shop to Amillion Tattoo, I wanted to try a new tattoo parlor while a friend was in town. I'm certainly no tattoo expert, but she is, so I did not take this decision lightly.We called for a walk-in appointment and were able to get in the same day with Mark Van Ness. We got matching cactus tattoos on our lower legs. We talked to Mark about our ideas and he drew one up really quickly. It looked great so we got started right away. He was professional and kind the whole time, letting me know what he was doing through each step. My friend the tattoo expert said he had a light hand and charged us fairly for the work.He took cash only, but they have an ATM in the waiting area so it's not a big deal. I would highly recommend Mark to anyone and plan to visit Triple Crown for future tattoos. It's a nicely decorated place with an impressively clean bathroom. (Some places have nasty bathrooms and you want to just GTFO as soon as you walk in.)Side note about how nice Mark is: He was a little late to our appointment, which was a bummer, until we found out it was because he was dropping off a client at work. While I'm not sure if this is normal behavior for him, the fact that he would do something as nice as that was impressive. It was also a hot day and I was getting sweaty, like fogging up my glasses hot. I asked them to turn on the AC and they did it with no complaints. Triple Crown Tattoo is probably the most underrated tattoo shop in the city. There are many artists here, each with their own unique style. My appointment was with owner Scott Ellis, who can do any tattoo you can dream up - but is especially known for his Japanese style tattoos. When it comes to traditional irezumi, Austin Texas has a lot to pick from. Chris Trevino is in town and is a legend in the business. Jason Brooks has a big profile in magazines and does great Japanese. Luar at Ancient Ink does traditional tebori poking. There are others. But Scott Ellis, in my opinion, is better than any of them. It's all there in his Instagram account. A look there not only shows off his incredible tattoos but his impressive travel schedule as he appears to travel the world tattooing to clientele who book him sometimes months in advance. I wanted a traditional dragon sleeve tattoo with certain elements. Scott was incredible. He designed a custom piece for me that fit my body. He didn't just slap a stencil on me. He actually spent over three hours using paint brushes painting and repainting and editing and repainting the design before it was just right. This is a highly complex series of lines to you can see in the photo I uploaded. He is a true master. This piece will take a few months to finish but it is already incredible. Scott was a joy to work with and his busy shop is filled with witty banter from the other artists and a communal sense of creativity as the artists viewed and commented on each other's work in progress to make it better. Everything you want in a tattoo parlor experience. If you have any interest in irezumi, horimono, and Japanese tattoos in Austin Texas, you should book with the master Scott Ellis. He is one of those artists who is a bit under the radar and is waiting to explode into one of those artists who is booked years in advance. This is hands down the best tattoo parlour I've ever set foot in. I'm not gonna sit here and lie and say I'm completely covered in ink or anything like that, but I'm def not exactly an ink virgin either. Unlike most shops trying to attract anyone for a dollar, this isn't the place where you go looking for something cheap and quick that you'll want to keep covered in 6 months. This is an art studio, plain and simple. The artists at this shop put hours of time and thought into every detail of their pieces, and execute them with amazing beauty and precision. Erik Axel is incredible at what he does. I gave him a few parameters of what I had in mind. What he designed surpassed my imagination and expectations. He took extra time to make sure I was comfortable. He worked quickly. Before I knew it the 'fowl de lis' was complete. I'm tempted to write a second review just to give more five more stars. Michael. Fucking. Williams.(I'm pretty sure that's not his legal middle name, but for all intents and purposes, it should be.)He is a brilliant artist. And look, there are plenty of brilliant tattoo artists, but several of them (in my experience) are also too-cool-for-school assholes. Mike is the sweetest, most accommodating guy, so in addition to his stellar talent, he's just a great guy to chat with. Super down-to-earth and kind. I was visiting Austin from the Bay Area and had found an amazing tattoo he had done on Instagram. Gorgeous, traditional-style peonies with beautiful coloring. I emailed him asking if he'd be able to incorporate those flowers into a lucky cat image I had already found. He was prompt in his reply, catered to my schedule, and when I came in for my consultation, he spent over 2 hours discussing it with me. He even had me sit next to him while he was tracing. It was awesome, and felt very collaborative. When he told me that he was "kind of a hypochondriac" about cleanliness, that sealed the deal. THAT'S what you want in a tattoo artist, kids. If you're looking for a trustworthy, hygienic tattoo parlour with an awesome attitude, don't pass Triple Crown by. This place is definitely worth your time and your money. I came there to get tattooed by Annie Alonzi last week, and I'm extremely happy with the result. It was a Thursday afternoon and she was alone, so the place was nice and quiet. The whole experience of being there, listening to my favorite music and chatting with Annie while getting tattooed by her has made me a faithful customer. The shop is clean, full of awesome flash, art and taxidermy on the wall. I will definitely recommend Triple Crown to everyone. I can't speak for the rest of the team (yet), but Annie stole my heart with her personality and her amazing drawing and tattooing skills, and I have no doubt the other artists are just as charming. I went here for a tattoo cover up after two shops in Austin I pay very regular homage to downright ignored me. Which is fine, because I am vastly pleased with my results by Ezra!I called at about 1pm on a Wednesday, told him I wanted a name on the back of my neck covered up. We discussed meeting, we met, his previous client took a little longer than expected so I gladly came back about an hour later. Ezra told me the bow I wanted to cover the name probably wasn't going to work they way I wanted it to and suggested a rose or a pretty girl (both traditional style). I was very, very wary at first bc none of my tattoos are traditional and although I don't really have a theme per se, girly/swirly/sparkly/paisley would be it. After a bit of discussion we decided on a rose. Then came the discussion of color. I really wanted to do all black but was a bit hesitant to say so since I just mentioned how the rest of my ink is girly. Welllllll as I was thinking about my goth rose, Nate piped up and suggested it. Black it is!After sketching for about 15 min Ezra got to work on my fine tattoo and OMG I love it. I am soooo beyond pleased with it it's hard to describe. I wish it wasn't on the back of my neck so I could stare at it all day!Come here and be happy.
