Me and my boyfriend went to Texas for a vacation and decided to get tattoos. Each tattoo was a pretty decent size and Kevin was able to squeeze us in that day. A tattoo that would've usually taken 2 hours took him an hour and it turned out perfect. He had such a gentle hand when tattooing I barely even felt mine. My sister and I wanted to get spontaneous tattoos while visiting back home in Texas. After dinner one night we drove by this place, saw the name and said, "hell yeah let's see if they'll take us." Josiah was available and ready to take us as soon as we walked in. We got very small and simple tattoos that took longer to set up and break down than it did to actually tattoo on us, but he was so great and was very patient with us. His line work and pricing were great, I could not be happier -- and he was really fun to hang out with and talk to while we were taking turns switching out for tattoos. 10/10 would recommend this place; they were really nice, very clean, good pricing, and the artists work in the books looked beautiful. I walked in on Sunday evening with a piece of my grandmothers handwriting I wanted to get tattooed. I have tattoos that range from small to covering my entire thigh. I've had some bad experiences when getting my small ones, the artists have at times made me feel as if I was wasting their time getting something so small, even when it was extremely meaningful to me. Tita greeted me and when I showed her the card from my grandmother she displayed genuine excitement to be tattooing it on me. The set up took longer than the actual tattoo and during the entire time Tita was chatting with me about my grandmother and other tattoos. I mentioned I have a piece that is 17 years old and is in memory of my grandfather I want to get touched up eventually. Depending on what you need, you don't need an appointment. These guys are friendly, they have quality work, and they're honest about what they can do without being rude or condescending (unlike the experience I had at Atomic Tattoos nearby). If an artist feels like the design you want is something they can't do, they offer suggestions or find someone who does that type of work. I had a simple phrase done on my arm, and Travis (I hope I'm remembering the name correctly...) helped me decide what font would be best readable. He was really nice about the expectations. Buckle up this is a long one but they deserve the praise... so my first tattoo was a terrible experience (out of state) and my first touch up on it at Atomic Tattoo was uncomfortable and although I was happy with the touch up I felt like they didn't take me seriously and had no desire to continue working with the artist. When I decided I wanted another piece I did a lot of research and settled on Tita Jewels. At first I was frustrated because I struggled to get a hold of anyone at the shop so eventually I came in for a consultation. I think it's super critical to anyone considering coming to LP to know that you must come in person for a consultation. Be prepared to wait to meet with an artist. It could take 20-40min because an artist will meet with you when they take a break from a tattoo or finish it. As someone getting a tattoo I appreciative this because I wouldn't want my artist starting and stopping several times to talk to people. I have since had 2 pieces done by Tita Jewels, she is absolutely worth the wait. She and everyone else at the shop made me feel super comfortable. You don't feel like your being spoken down to because you aren't heavily tattooed like I've felt at other shops. Also, Tita generally doesn't have the sketch finished when you arrive, she will take pictures of the area and work with you to make any adjustments. Expect the first 30min to an hour to be waiting/discussing the piece and making any changes. When my husband decided he wanted his first tattoo he wanted to explore his options we went to several shops one that completely ignored us (good times tattoo), another (freedom machine) turned down his idea saying no one would do it because if you "can't find the same tattoo on google chances are it's because it isn't going to be a good tattoo" so when we came to LP after other shops and spoke with Josiah after checking out his Instagram it was clear that LP was again the place we wanted to be. He was genuinely excited to tattoo a flower he's never seen before and worked extensively with my husband to incorporate several elements in to a piece without it looking busy or jumbled. He was a joy to work with and the tattoo turned out amazing. I also want to compliment Kyle, although I haven't had work from him, I've seen him very gently let someone know their idea on paper wouldn't translate well and make suggestions on how he could do it and still keep the concept. I've been to shops where they just flat out refuse without making suggestions and it's disheartening. The shop was clean and customer service was standard. I gave a two star rating because I didn’t get the results I was looking for. I had my sons name tattooed on my bicep. The ink in the tattoo spread/bled, so the lines didn’t turn out as crisp as I would’ve hoped. It is also a lot bolder/darker than I want. I really want to love my newest tattoo, but I don’t. I have had an amazing experience with Little Pricks Tattoo. I came in to see if I could get a poorly done watercolor tattoo covered. I wanted to do an illustrative style tattoo of a butterfly and a Dahlia.  I had photos of both.  Tita introduced me to Josiah and he impressed me from the first moment.   He took the time to draw up very detailed and realistic images and even added a second butterfly to the peice without changing the price.  Josiah is knowledgeable and knows how to lay down a tattoo by building it a layer at a time so that it will last forever.  The shading and perspective is just beautiful. He has an excellent eye for color and how they compliment one another.   I get compliments and oohs and awes from complete strangers.  I only wish he could have done all my tattoos.  Plus, he has done multiple sessions to perfect the peice and has only charged me the total price he quoted.  I could not recommend Little Pricks Tattoo and especially Josiah more highly! I researched a long time to find someone who could create a rather unique tattoo that I had been waiting years to see come to life.  I had heard about Kyles line work after doing a lot of research and saw some extremely detailed and amazing work.  Kyle was extremely professional walked me through the entire process and his ability to take an envisioned design and not only create it but to add his own unique style as well that produces true personalized works of art.  Do not let some of these poor reviews keep you from getting excellent work done from some real artists.  It is true that the shop is adult oriented (Really? The name wasn't a clue??) meaning that some adult conversation and joking happens among the staff.  But it's that funny banter and great music that makes this place so upbeat and warm and inviting.  If you want a place that is more clinical in nature this is not the place for you but if you want a great tattoo you can be proud of in a place that's fun with artists that take the time to understand who you are and the type of art you're looking for then Little Pricks is it.Yes you will need to make an appointment most times as great artists are in demand so no do not expect to just walk in an be seen right then and there.  They always address walk ins right away and explain that someone will be with them as soon as possible.  If you don't want to wait make an appointment.My tattoo was amazing (full chest and sleeve), Kyle's station was impeccable, and his lines are so well done it's ridiculous.  As someone who has had a few tattoos done now this is by far my best experience and I would recommend Little Pricks to everyone. My boyfriend and I came here after researching many places in Austin. The work put out by this location seemed to be top notch so we made the 40 minute drive here to check it out. Once we arrived, we noticed all employees were busy. We were willing to wait but after 30 minutes of waiting not one single employee had acknowledged our presence. At one point, a woman and her son walked in, were greeted and helped immediately. After that, we decided this was not a place we wanted to do business with, great work or not. I found Little Pricks from Yelp reviews and after viewing artists' instagrams. I booked an appointment with Tita Jewels a few months ahead of time and she was extremely accommodating. I couldn't come in as I was out of the state for a good period of time and had a small window when I could schedule. She even rescheduled with me at the last minute to make sure I got in before I was leaving. Tita is professional, well-spoken, and very knowledgable about tattooing. Before the appointment, I sent her quite a few examples of her work and others that I liked and what exactly I liked about them, along with a (very) rough sketch of what I'd like and where. She came up with a beautiful design the day of that incorporated everything I wanted and worked with me to make it exactly how I imagined (but so much better!). During the appointment, she was friendly and easy to talk to, answering my 1000 questions about the machine, shading differences, etc. Her station was impeccable, as was the rest of the studio. I've gotten the whole tattoo experience before but never like this. When I moved back home and needed to find an artist to continue making my tattoo dreams a reality, I stumbled upon Josiah from Little Pricks Tattoo. It was incredibly easy to set up a consultation and he was extremely friendly and super cool. Aside from being an EXTRAORDINARILY talented tattoo artist, Josiah is COOL as hell. We laughed and had such an amazing time together and he made it such a fun and laid back experience. One thing that distinguishes him from the rest is that he is VERY attentive and VERY ardent about his clients getting EXACTLY what they want. Josiah really takes the time and energy to make sure your confident in his ability and understanding of what you desire. I DO NOT recommend this place at all. They literally ripped off my son who just turned 18 and wanted a tattoo. They charged him 900$ for letters down his back. Shame on this shit hole for scamming a newly aged Adult who didnt know what he was doing. They should be ashamed of themselves. Btw they literally sit there and shit talk people who call on the phone after they hang up. Stay clear from here. There is more better  honest places with true artists that care about their customers and the work they do. I chose Little Pricks, because of the watercolor tattoos they were doing (and the north locale).  I initially asked for Kyle, but he informed me that he was booked up for quite a while and assured me that Zach could handle what I was asking for.Stopped by to talk about my idea with Zach and I could not have been more impressed with the studio.  Super clean, open and bright, music on-but not blaring.  Not at all like a "typical" tattoo shop.  Zach was very nice, listened to my requests and I booked for the following weekend.  Overall experience was great.  Zach was quick and most importantly did GREAT work!  I am so happy with my tattoos!  Two days later I got a call from Kyle to check how everything was going and see if I had any questions.  What customer service!I will definitely be back and you should check this place out too! My sister and I went for our first tattoos in March. I did a lot of research for a reputable place with lots of positive reviews. I wish I had asked for Travis or Tita instead of going with Zach, the person who first spoke to us when we entered the business. The tattoo was a simple butterfly on the inside of our wrist and we were charged $80, which was fine. Money wasn't the issue. He just seemed like the tattoo was too small to bother with doing a superior job. I wish he had just referred us to someone else at the place if it seemed beneath him or he wasn't interested in doing the tattoo. A small tattoo should still be done with pride as a large tattoo. He did not close the lines of the butterfly and when asked about it, he said the ink would travel. We weren't happy with our tattoos but had zero desire to have him do any retouches. We figured if he couldn't get such a small, simple tat done nicely, no way would he touch us again. We ended up going to see James at 10-32 Tattoo and he did an amazing retouch on our butterflies and we totally love our matching tattoos now. We both went back to James for larger foot tattoos this summer. Little Pricks lost two potential customers due to our experience with Zach. Read Less

I went here at the recommendation of a friend who had work done by Maggie. I sent my idea pics to Maggie, but when she saw then, she recommended I use a different artist in the shop (Tita) because she was more experienced with the watercolor style I was going for. I have to tell you that right from the start, that blew me away; it spoke volumes of the kind of work environment that must be there. I was so impressed that the customer's desires are more important than any one artist's ego. I had to schedule about a month out, because Tita was booked so far ahead (another good sign).  When I arrived, she showed me her sketch and it was exactly what I wanted. I wasn't in the chair nearly as long as I expected to be for the size of my piece.  She is incredibly talented, incredibly efficient, and an absolute joy of a person.  I plan to see her for my next piece in the future. I was impressed with all of the artists' work online and followed them on Instagram before coming in. Maggie did my black and white piece on my bicep and was fantastic. She has a gentle touch that most artists struggle to master and her skills are amazing (I still just stare at my piece and marvel at the shading). 10/10 definitely going back and recommending this shop to everyone who wants a new tattoo. Great work but they never reply back to my emails and when they did they were sarcastic and rude, Kyle Giffen deleted my comment and blocked it. Terrible customer service I was excited to find a semi decent artist but so dissapointed with your customer service skills and your staff. I had a friend go with me for a consultation and shs was turned down for the color of her skin but her boyfriend who is white got a massive owl in his arm. Went last weekend to get a custom piece done by Travis. This was my second time at Little Pricks, the first one just being a quick addition of UV ink to an existing chest piece. So I was excited to get some original ink.I gave Travis a bit of a challenge for the design, asking him to marry two versions of the same character together. I wanted to get the feel of the original Disney Cheshire Cat with the coloration of the new Tim Burton character. It was a great collaborative effort, with him working up the concept, accepting a few small tweaks that I asked for, and once in the shop asking for my color preference, etc. but offering his expertise on what would and wouldn't work. I wasn't even sure if it was possible to do what I wanted but he came up with a concept I loved.Ultimately, of course, you need to put your trust into the artist to bring the artistic vision you've created together to life, and Travis went above and beyond in that regard. The shading, coloring, and saturation of my tattoo is brilliant, and it healed cleanly and evenly. There were no overworked or injured areas that I noticed, and I'm thrilled with the final product.I'd definitely recommend Travis and his work. I had 5 people stop me in the airport the next day to comment on the tattoo, and another 4 since that day. All of them have commented on how well done the tattoo color and cleanness is.Thanks again! Leo will spend a lot of time up front working with you to ensure that he understands exactly  what you want and he will also provide suggestions to improve the design. I've had work done by Kyle before when he was at another shop in town (Platinum Ink- so you can look at his reviews there as well). He now is the owner of Little Pricks and I couldn't be happier. The studio is clean but with a fun artsy atmosphere and the staff is friendly & welcoming. Kyle is quick on turnaround for sketches of custom pieces, and when tattooing he has a VERY gentle hand. We worked together on a quite large custom piece for me, and he ensured it was perfect before laying down my outline. I couldn't be happier with the results, and look forward to the final appointment for the finishing touches!
