Top of the line work. I drive from Houston to Austin round trip just to get my full sleeves from Jason Brooks. So far, we've finished the right arm and are 1/3 of the way done with the left. I dig his bold, stand-out, traditional style in both American and Japanese. Ben Siebert and James Yoacum also do some crazy work. Definitely one of the best shops in the state of Texas. I got tattooed by Matt Van Cura about 3 years ago in Dallas, I got a sick Halloween tattoo on my thigh. He did a great job!!! I was extremely happy with the colors, detail, and it healed very nicely. I basically let him have fun with what the main concept was but I mentioned how much I loved halloween and different things I liked about it and when he drew up my witch it was exactly what I wanted and absolutely fell in love with it! Judging by the artwork on the walls the artists here have definitely spent their time researching various art forms and can do some very amazing work regarding Asian/Japanese style tattoos. I had never gotten a tattoo and had to do some research once I decided to make the decision. I mean it is life long decision. I had been referred to Ben Siebert by a friend of a friend after seeing her tattoos and asking her where she got hers. There are so many tattoo artists in Austin that it is hard to decide where to go.I will say that before I had talked to Ben I looked online at his other work. Of course I liked what I saw and contacted him. I set up a consultation to go over the tattoo design, placement, etc. I was lucky enough to get the tattoo shortly after the consult only due to a recent cancelation. I was told up front the cost (cash only), the required amount for the deposit, roughly the amount of time it would take, and items I would need to take care of my tattoo. Ben was great in keeping conversation during the tattoo and made me feel pretty comfortable. Something I learned from my experience is make sure you get something that you want because tattoo removal hurts way worse than the tattoo placement, take breaks if needed, it can hurt at times, do something to keep your mind occupied like play on your phone or have conversations, and always breathe. Jason did a full sleeve on me almost 10 years ago and the color is still beautiful. I'm still asked all of the time who did my work and people are shocked when I tell them how old it is.
