Dropped by Affinity to get a little bit of ink while on my bi-annual ATX trip. Seems to be a little tradition for me to get tattooed in Austin, I suppose. This was back in September, and I've slept since then, so I soulfully regret not remembering the receptionist's name. She was sweet but honest with me right off the bat, which I appreciated. She gave me her two cents about my tattoo idea, and I was grateful for her advice. After all, she could have let me pay $80 for a fading tattoo and not think twice about it. She really cares for the art of tattooing itself and the way it should be worn on one's body. That was definitely a nice surprise. Matty was really personable and very friendly for a gigantic, tattooed dude. Most places like this see a small, respectable asian girl and immediately make judge-y faces, but not the folks here. I got a small outline of Texas on my forearm and was in and out in 20 minutes. The lines are solid and clean, and it healed up quite nicely. I've had 4 tattoos prior to this experience, and I think he may be a little heavy handed, because the lines were raised up slightly during the healing process. They still are, but it's getting more flush with my skin as time goes by. This doesn't really bother me, but I found it interesting. All in all, I think the price was fair, the service was outstanding, and the fact that it was a quick walk-in made me a happy camper. -xoxo Read Less
