I was visiting my sister and her fiance. We all had plans to get tattoos. My sister and I got matching tattoos and OMG they came out so incredibly perfect! We explained what we wanted and showed some examples to get inspired from. My tattoo artist was Jeff. He is so nice and welcoming. We talked about my trip, my business back home, etc. All while making sure I wasn't in any pain. After my sister tattoo was done, I aaked if he had time to do a small semicolon on my wrist for suicide awareness (my sister-in-law passed from suicide last year). I was able to get a quote after sending him some me pictures, and he even said he would come in on his day off to do our tattoos (hubby and I). We went the next day, and he was totally prepared. I'm rating 2 stars because one of the piercers there is great! I'm not sure if he still works there though. My reason for not giving 5 stars is the TERRIBLE tattoo my husband received. He asked for the joker and Harley Quinn with the joker dressed in marine dress blues in the traditional sailor hug pose (photo attached) and instead got to his appointment after taking time off work and the artist hadn't even completed his design and what he had done was completely different to what he asked. My husband got the tattoo anyway and once he arrived home I pointed out that the artist had mangled the design, Harley's hand was messed up, her head was disproportionate and it couldn't have been farther from what was asked. My husband agreed to the design which is on him, but was told he would be charged more if the artist had to redesign. I feel that the artist rushed the design and the tattoo and didn't have any passion for the work. We spent so much time going through the portfolios in store and it's clear they are selective with what work they show.I also went in for a tattoo in March/April of this year and wanted some scripture, after less than a month it had faded out and had turned grey and blotchy. I feel like the 2 artists we saw ruined our experience there which is a shame. Read Less

We had a consultation first to know exactly what I wanted, the day of my appointment he helped me decide what was best, gave me his expert opinions and went to work! This review is long overdue, but better late than never! It's been about three weeks now since I had gone in to get my nose pierced and I couldn't have been more pleased! Their service is great and they make you feel right at home the moment you walk in. For any piercing needs, Cody is your go-to guy, seriously. He walks you through the picking of the jewelry and what they're made of, he then walks you through the process of the piercing and keeps you informed the whole way through. He also walks you through the post-care instructions for the nose piercing, which to my surprise weren't as complicated as some places make . Everything he uses is sterilized and cleaned thoroughly and all tools are top of the line. One thing I liked about it was that he lets you know if the placement of the piercing and getting it done is a good idea unlike some places you go in to that are just looking to make a quick buck. Another thing is that with Urban's, you are paying for QUALITY, not like a "$10 piercing Tuesday" kind of deal. Most definitely am excited to be going back soon to change out the jewelry, but so far have loved my nose piercing and have yet to have any issues with it. If I could give Urban's more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. I've gotten two piercings done here: Cody did my second lobe piercing and Ryan did my cartilage, and both times I've gone in have been the best experiences! These guys really know their stuff...they make sure you are comfortable and educated about keeping your piercing clean. Urban's itself is always super clean, and whenever you get a new piercing, the jewelry is always sanitized while you're there. Urban's Tattoo is one of the best studios I've been to, and Isaac Tinajero is truly an outstanding artist. The shop has a very clean and laid-back vibe. If you want a cookie-cutter piece, this is not the place for you. Isaac's use of color and shading is beyond compare. He re-worked an older piece, by a "tattoo guy" on my arm that i was unhappy with, and turned it into the half-sleeve I have always wanted. I get so many compliments, its hard to keep track. I have been getting piercings by Cody for about 2 years now. I got septum, nipples, VCH, tragus, daith, sternal surface piercings by him. Only thing that I regret is that I didn't know him earlier when I got my navel, tongue, and conch piercing! I got each of them from different piercers and all had bad outcome (infection, improper placement, pain, etc) until I met Cody. Cody is an expert in his field, and passionate about what he does. Besides that, the most important thing, he's honest about it when your piercing request is a bad idea. It is easy for a piercer to pierce whatever you request, and get paid. However, Cody would straight up tells you its not a good idea and he would not do it. For example, my friend wanted her tongue pierced, she is tongue tight, so no. I wanted surface piercings on my collarbones, its not a good idea because they will most likely get in the way when I wear my purse or seatbelts, therefore, they will cause more pain and discomfort. Then, they wont last long. Cody has been a piercer for over ten years, and that's all he does for his career (he doesn't do tattoo on the side). I've overheard his customer talking about he's the only person that does her piercings that didn't end up with a little bump under the jewelry. Some of my co-workers and friends also know him, and I have only hear good things about his work. The place is clean and his equipment are properly sterilized. The jewelries that he uses for piercings are good quality and worth every dollar. Every piercings I got from him are at the most flattering spot and none of them were not close to perfection. Easiest 5 stars I've ever rated for a review, hands down. I got a memorial piece done yesterday for my best friend who passed away. The tattoo was done by Star & I am in love it. I was expecting it to be great of course but when he showed me the stencil & the ideas he came up with it was even better than I anticipated. The detail is insanely good & so is the color work. I'm in love with the tattoo, I can't stop looking at it. Some people may say the tattoo was pricey but the ...quality is so there so I don't mind paying whatever for beautiful art that will be staying on your body forever. Cheap tattoos will just need to be fixed or covered up at some point, & I know i'll never have that issue with this piece. I'm in love with it! The shop & studio is also so nice & clean. I got a tattoo done at a younger age cheaply and got what I paid for. I've always wanted to enhance and bring to life my tattoo, but never truly got around to be able. Almost 10 yrs later, was referred to this store, specifically to Jon Campos. He does air brush work and his portfolio was incredible. I came in and he traced my design and then went to work on what he can do to it. I loved the sketch so much we went ahead and got it started. The session took about 3.5 hrs. The whole staff in there are super friendly and is a very clean tattoo shop. I went in to get a simple tattoo to represent my T1 diabetes. Rocky took a simple picture of what I wanted and turned it into a femine and sexy tattoo! The price was a little steep for what I wanted but it was worth the money to know that it was done correctly in a clean, sterile and professional environment! I had my ears double pierced by Cody and it was a grade A experience. Cody is a professional and does really clean work. There was no pain involved with my piercing (only a slight burning sensation) and the hard part was over in seconds. He sterilized the jewelry and tools for at least 20 minutes prior to inviting me into his room. Before coming to Urban's I'd had a failed experience with a piercing gun at the mall. The difference is night and day between having your ears pierced by a needle vs gun. Don't waste your money like I did, do it right the first time and come see Cody!  Pro tip: call ahead and make an appointment to minimize the time spent waiting at the studio. We took our 5 year old daughter in to get her ears pierced today and it was an amazing experience. We felt welcome, they asked for her birth certificate with the paper work (makes me feel at ease with the legal aspects of it) and the studio was clean and well decorated. The piercing room was private and clean and Cody the gentleman who does the piercings payed great attention to cleanliness and was soooo very patient with a five year old client. It went well, to the point where she only cried just a bit on the second ear and was fine as soon as she sat up. Her ears look great and I'm singing Cody's praises. Went to Urban's Tattoos for the first time last night with my husband. We were immediately impressed with the greeting we received, the cleanliness and modern décor. This place is already so much better than any place we have gone before and our work hasn't even started! My husband had an appointment with Star who was ready for him and had his stencil prepared so they immediately set to work. I did not have an appointment, but it didn't take long before I was paired with Dami...en. Let me tell you, we are both SO impressed with our artists and the work they did. I absolutely love, love, love my tattoo and my husband is super excited about the work he has so far. (His will take two sessions) The whole vibe of this place is fantastic! The music was excellent, ALL of the employees were AMAZING and if all of that wasn't enough, they will forever have our gratitude for how friendly and patient they were with our adult Intellectually Disabled son. Went in today on my day off to get a tattoo I planned with one of the artists Abraham, came in, got set up with absolutely no problems. This was my first ink and the whole team helped make the experience one to already plan my next one. Abraham used very careful attention on my initial lining which made the tattoo amazing before the coloring was even started! Shop seemed clean, however my artist 'Ronnie' was a complete jerk! Gave me ego & attitude from the very beginning of my service, talked at me like I was stupid during my consultation then totally tuned me out as soon as I got to the chair by putting on a headset. I stopped him halfway through because what I described and what he was doing was completely different, then he wanted to blame ME because I didn't describe it correctly enough for him, he didn't even draw up a stencil for me to approve. Was supposed to be a fun afternoon getting new tattoos with a friend, I will now think of this jerk every time I see this half-assed excuse of a tattoo. I am not a happy customer at all. I went to urban tattoo because I heard nothing but good reviews about it. I spoke to Alonzo Gonzales and told him exactly what I wanted. He told me that he would take care of me and in order for me to have a spot I had to give a deposit of 300.00. I gave him the money and two weeks later he called me to set op my appointment. I was scheduled to get my tattoo done in June. I was on my way to my appointment and he called me saying the lights were out at the shop. He said that he would call me to set up another appointment. Needless to say I have been getting the run around. It's September and he still has my 300.00. I have called and texted him but no reply. When I call the shop he is never there. I gave him my money in May. I never write bad reviews this is the first. I feel people need to know what's going on. I tried to set up another appointment for my tattoo but I don't even want that. This is the cleanest and friendliest tattoo shop I have found in Texas. I came in for my 11th tattoo and brought a friend in for her first. I wanted her to be comfortable and at ease and boy was this place perfect! The staff is courteous, knowledgeable and even has a sense of humor. Absolutely amazing experience! I never write reviews for services rendered, but i am actually taking the time to review these guys. I will start off with the shop. The shop had an atmosphere unlike anywhere i have ever been. The whole crew was extremely friendly and professional, yet at the same time they knew how to make the customers feel at ease and welcomed at the same time. The quality of the artist at the studio are not matched by any studio in the DFW metroplex. I truly mean that, whatever your flavor is whatever your cup of tea is these guys can do it and not only can they do it they will knock it out of the park. I honestly will never go anywhere else in my life to get a tattoo, i have found the shop i will go to for the rest of my life. They are meticulous when it comes to being sterile and clean, as well as the comfort of the customer. I can't say enough things about how amazing this shop is. I will say this, if you do not go to this shop, then you will truly regret it. Mark my words, this is a one stop shop for all of your needs and not only that, they are clean, friendly, professional, honest and hard working so they can give the customer an amazing experience. Now to my artist. Joe Stembridge, he is amazing at what he does. He is actually better than amazing he is phenomenal . I spent 6 months looking for the artist i wanted to give my a leg sleeve and I found Joe and I have to say I was stunned at the quality of his work. I contacted Joe while in Afghanistan and we spoke for about 45 minutes over the phone doing a consultation because i was in Afghanistan. Joe's passion and tireless work ethic are compared to no artist I've ever met or worked with. He put long arduous hours into my piece. He knocked out about 18 hours worth of tattooing in 2 days back to back then 2 weeks later we knocked out another 7 hours and the quality of his work never stammered it was top notch quality work. His love of what he does, his want to ensure his clients are well taken care of, his ability and quality of his work are light years ahead of any other artist at any other shop in the DFW. From the first moment under the needle Joe made sure I was comfortable, from the amount of breaks we took, from my positioning in the chair, and he has a light hand. He consistently made sure we were on the same page and he was going in the right direction of the piece instead of just taking the design and running with it. Simply an awesome guy, and beyond awesome as an artist. His dedication to his work is is unmatched, he truly does care about every piece he does and I've seen it in his face the 3 sessions i went to, he would be simply exhausted after each session because of his focus and dedication to delivering an award winning experience and an award winning tattoo. Bottom line, Urbans Tattoo is the only place you should be considering going to to get a tattoo if you want it done correctly, if you want professional artists and an awesome friendly atmosphere. Their ethics are never under question as they conduct their studio as it should be.
