The whole experience (walk in to walk out) took literally 5 minutes. He was so rushed that he was dropping stuff on the floor, and it wasn't a busy time. I've always heard that hellbent was a very quality shop, but years ago a friend of mine got a nautical star tattoo about the size of a golf ball and they charged $90 the tattoo was fine but way overpriced. in a couple of weeks ago my girlfriend and I went to the shop and she wanted to get the word queen tattoo on her hand. I was going to get king on mine. they told us $100 each the price was about right but the quality the work definitely wasn't. my girlfriend went first he spent all of 10 minutes on it, then said he was ready for me. say I did not get my tattoo that night. in my opinion they probably used to be a quality tattoo shop and let it go to their heads and now they're far from quality. I took my wife in to get a tatoo.. We wanted to get a cover up job on a small wrist tat litterally 6 straight lines...Without even looking at her tat we were quoted 80 dollars. So im like Show us what you got that would fit in that range.. Then the other dude like naw no less than 150.. with out even looking me in the eye.. My niece and I went in on Easter and had a great experience then most places we have went. Very friendly, greeting us as soon as we walked in and made us feel pretty comfortable. We both got something simple but they did a great job. The best part is the 1st touch up is free� We will definitely be back for that and more. I got my tragus pierced here about 5-1/2 years ago. When I entered the shop, I wasn't acknowledged for several minutes. They were busy with other customers but it only takes 5 seconds to acknowledge someone & say "someone will be with you shortly". Instead, I felt ignored. When I told them I was there for a piercing, the guy walked off without saying a word. I wasn't sure what was going on. A few minutes later, a woman came to the counter to help me (I don't know if he went to get her, or if she coincidentally came to the counter, since he didn't say he was going to get someone to help me). Anyway, she was really nice & the piercing didn't hurt at all. But she pierced it with a regular earring! That's just wrong, & I ended up buying the correct jewelry for my piercing from Randy Adams. Later, when I wanted to get my nose pierced, I remembered that this place didn't use the right jewelry for my tragus & that they weren't friendly (aside from the piercer,but again, she should know not to pierce a tragus with an earring that's made for an earlobe!) & there was no way I was going to go back, no matter how nice the piercer was. She should know what to use to pierce a tragus (or any other body part), not to mention the other shop employees were not friendly at all. I will never go back here. Read Less

On 4-3-17 I went in on my bday to get my son name, dinosaur raptor, and his date of birth tattooed on me, because my son LOVES dinosaurs so I went with my son idea for my 2nd tattoo for him...The whole experience was great Seth my artist was very cool, patient, and courageous, the whole staff was great helping me with the design I told them I wanted and putting a visual picture with what I stated verbally.... when it came down to the raptor design they all made my son feel special and apart of my tattoo for him and I was beyond pleased with that .... Jeremiah took great care to get my piercing back in, after the jewelry fell out overnight. I had it pierced in Austin, not at Hellbent. It was tricky because it is a pretty new piercing, but he did it and he talked me through it, keeping me calm, which was very appreciated! Very nice guy and great at what he does! Read Less

My spouse and I got our very first tattoos yesterday here. I cannot speak for my spouse, but my tattoo artist was amazing. He walked me through everything, took the time to answer every single question, let me look at the needles and did not mind my nervous chatter. Once he began, I almost didn't feel a thing so I'm definitely hooked and am planning my next larger piece. (My husband is loving his tattoo also, I just don't want to speak for him on this) Pricing was about expected, can tell it's a vapor shop due to the smell (but I don't vape or smoke so I'm a little unused to the smell) but the facility was clean. I understand upholding the law and wanting to keep your license but you guys are losing sight of the point. Maybe you got burned in the past, in which case, I get it, but maybe you need to read this: https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/internetforms/Forms/DL-17.pdf. There are primary and secondary forms of identification as outlined by the State of Texas. I know how important it is to cover your bases BUT you should follow ALL of the rules, not just the part of them."If an applicant is unable to present a document from the primary identification chart, the applicant must present either two secondary documents or one secondary and two supporting documents for identification purposes...""...Texas Administrative Code Title 37, Part 1, Chapter 15, Subchapter B, Rule §15.24, and can be referenced at www.sos.state.tx.us/tac/."I lost my license and now have a paper temp license receipt with no photo but I have a PHOTO ID from the City with height and description on it, a notarized copy of my birth certificate (Secondary Form of ID), my SSN card, my voter's registration card, vehicle title, vehicle registration, an old expired DL (with photo), an old expired military dependent card (with photo) and more (all of which are supporting documents) and you guys REFUSED to accept these as legitimate forms of ID. If I was at a government office these would be ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION. I hope your inability to be flexible and adhere to ALL of the Texas Rules for Acceptable Identification is worth your loss in revenue. I respect following the rules. I understand wanting to do things the right way. I don't understand being so inflexible (within the boundaries of state law) and basically acting like jerks. I've had three tattoos done at Hellbent (one was a correction of a tattoo that I got at another well known Arlington shop) and I couldn't be happier! Tony is by far the best artist that I've ever had the pleasure of working with! He's very professional and definitely a perfectionist. Exactly what someone wants when they are getting a permanent piece of art on their body. He's great at providing guidance when helping you design a tattoo. He takes extreme pride in his art and it shines through in his work. I'm a weenie and I barely felt the pain; he has such a light hand! People aren't very welcoming especially little old lady behind the counter. I felt tense and unwanted as soon as I walked in. Glad I went some where else! Not a place I'd recommend for anyone wanting decent service. The rates they give are outrageous compared to other shops. Any questions you have get scoffed at as if you're stupid. It has a welcoming environment , the staff is really legit, and cool && really friendly. && it seems the customers are too! haha! I walked in && everyone said "Hi!!" and what's up && what was I getting today! I love Connie! Shes the one who does piercings there. Shes soooo so sweet, && tells you everything you need to know! I have been there twice and I really like this tattoo and piercing shop. The people are friendly, the shop is clean and they are knowledgeable about what they do and their products. They weren't rude but... They also weren't friendly.The atmosphere left me gasping for breath.It was uptight, tense, and no one seemed very friendly nor helpful.When I got my lip done, no one asked me if I'd ever had it done professionally, I was not given cleaning instructions or information, And I was not comforted in any way.The piercer seemed nice enough once he was away from every one else, But he too seemed to uptight.Overall, I would not want to go back there for further piercings. They let an apprentice tattoo me without informing me. They charged double what other studios charge (even if it's an apprentice) and the tattoo peeled off 2 weeks later. Then, when I went back to complain, they blamed me for not asking if my artist was an apprentice! The apprentice was fired and the owners son said he would NOT back up any of his artists/employees. I was then threatened with violence by the owners son. He told me he was going to kick my Mother F****ing A** while hitting his open palm with his fist. I felt threatened so I left. Connie ("the owner") called my house tonight at midnight to tell me she was going to sue me for defamation of character. What an idiot! DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go to Hellbent unless you actually want a terrible tattoo done by inexperienced artists (check their website- http://www.hellbenttattoo.com/gallery/ ) or if you want to be harassed in the middle of the night for expressing your concerns. I went to Hellbent 3 weeks ago to get a tattoo my daughter drew. It was expensive but I figured, You get what you pay for so it must be good. WRONG! I paid. I sat in the chair. Jeremiah did my tattoo. I left. 2 weeks later the ink peeled off! I went back to Hellbent to express my disappointment. I asked to speak to someone in charge. This guy comes up and says what’s the problem. I show him my foot and he laughs! I told him Jeremiah did this. He said well, he was fired. He said, wait another week and come back and we’ll touch it up. I said, You don’t understand. I don’t want to come back here. What are you going to do to make this right? He said, nothing. Jeremiah was an apprentice! WTH?! I started to get angry at this point. He (who turned out to be the owners son) said I should’ve asked if the person tattooing me was an apprentice. Excuse me? I paid full price for an apprentice? There was no one helping him or standing with him supervising or anything. Not a single person mentioned ANYthing about Jeremiah being an apprentice. I guarantee you that if they had I would not have let him tattoo me even if someone was watching him. So, anyway, I tell “dude” (don’t know his name) that he needs to take responsibility. He says nope, he doesn’t back up his employees! At this point, voices are raised but there is no cursing. He walks behind the counter and starts to punch his open palm and tells me he is going to “kick” my “mother f****ing ass”! That is a direct quote! He said it in front of customers! That place has NO customer service! NO ethics whatsoever! What kind of shop doesn’t ASK you if you mind an apprentice doing your tattoo? And usually that means less money. NO they didn’t inform me nor did I get any sort of discount for an apprentice. But, it’s my fault for “not asking”. STAY AWAY from Hellbent!!!! If you want a great tattoo, surrounded by great and fun people with morals and ethics go to Custom Tattoo! Johnny fixed me up! Great, talented, fun guy that had sympathy for what I had been through at Hellbent. Apparently Johnny has fixed up a lot of Hellbents botched jobs.
