if i could give them a 0 i would. i came in and the workers were totally rude and made jokes at me from the second i walked in that made me feel uncomfortable and overall just awkward. then i asked if i could get my navel re-pierced and the lady looked at me and very skeptically asked me to show her my stomach before even talking to me about it or taking me back to a private room. after having to lift up my shirt in a lobby full of people, she loudly said that she wouldn't do it because i was "not anatomically built for a piercing and it would never work." i calmly explained to her how i had come into the same place a year ago (with another piercer) and she had suspicions at first too (im very thin) but after taking me back and actually looking at the area, decided that it was completely safe to pierce. i had the piercing for a long time and after a while took it out because i didn't like the way it looked, but then wanted it again and waited a while for it to heal before coming back. she somewhat laughed and said "i'm sure you did and i'm sure you were fine but listen if you didn't like it the first time that's not gonna change and your body isn't made for a piercing it's just gonna get infected immediately and expel it. i'm not doing it and i don't want to be responsible for when it goes bad." here's the thing: i would've been a lot more okay with it if she had said it in a nice way or had taken me back to the secluded room where they do the piercings to tell me all of this, instead of in the middle of the lobby with people staring at me. i left the place in tears and am just very upset because i had heard good things about this place but i was immediately uncomfortable when i walked in and then humiliated and talked down to in front of a bunch of people in a lobby. maybe this is just an isolated incident but it was just not carried out in a way that was explained nicely and privately. would not recommend to anyone i know. i think they do a fine job overall but definitely think there's better places to go. Do not..I repeat do not go here to get any piercing done. I got my nose pierced and within a week it was infected and my nose ring kept sinking into the hole. I went back up there to get it changed to a longer stud and they told me that they would not change out the stud for another one. They recommended that I take it out and let it close up and come back and get it re-pierced. I was able to go to another piercer and they told me the jewelry they used was junk and all I need was a longer stud and it should have healed correctly. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever received from a professional establishment especially one with such lasting impacts. If you can't do the work you shouldn't take people's money, and definitely do not start tattoos you don't intend to finish. I would very much recommend you avoid a place with this much lack of accountability. If you actually want to spend your money wisely this is not the place to go. Read Less

My boyfriend got his ears pierced and I got a tattoo here. The piercers were efficient, friendly, and clean! Leidi was one of them and I didn't catch the other girl's name. I got my tattoo done by Jude and they were excellent accommodating me. They drew up a version of an image I brought in and their style fit me perfectly. I am so happy with how it turned out! The Saniderm they had is also awesome and I wish I had it for my other tattoos I have had done in be past. I would definitely recommend coming here for piercings or tattoos!! Read Less

I took my sister there for her first nose piercing and it took the piercer Leydi about 15 minutes just to get the needle through my sisters nose having to pull the needle out and put it back in multiple times. To finallly get it in the lady had to use two needles at once. It also was bleeding really badly which isn’t supposed to happen. I understand it might bleed alil but not that bad at all. Also the customer service here wasn’t that great either, everyone was kind of rude and seemed to be judgmental. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Would give 0 stars if possible. Read Less

I came here after being referred by another tattoo shop I had inquired at (for Leydi specifically). I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted piercing wise, just that I wanted some sort of helix combo. Everyone in this shop was super nice and Leydi was great to work with. She gave her opinion on what I should get and got it done very fast. She's very skilled and gave me a buy 2, get 1 deal. Everything looked fine at first but then I noticed that one of the artists "Dan Juarez" had tattooed a backwards hand next to a girl and snake, I double checked to see if this was a mistake that got corrected or deleted but it's still up on his Instagram and the shops Instagram. I have plenty of tattoos and artist friends, so when I seen something was off about this tattoo I immediately asked around and sure enough many agree this hand is backwards. I went in yesterday for a piercing. Nothing fancy, just a third hole in my ear lobes. Greeted when I came in by the tattoo artist, told him what I was there for and was told piercer would be available shortly. Talked to piercer (Ryan), filled out paperwork and he got his items sterilized and was ready to go. Piercing was done professionally and proper aftercare information was given. I got this piercing done as a remembrance of my mother who passed away one year prior and she had hers done the same way. This place is great, clean and professional. I came Friday the 13th and they were SLAMMED. Despite being incredibly busy the staff was very calm and collected. They stayed open after regular business hours to try and get everyone taken care of, but they had to go home at some point of course. So unfortunately I was unable to get my tattoo. But they said if we came back the next day with our paper showing we had been there the night before that they would still honor the special price. I went to Skin Art Gallery in 2015 for a sleeve. I originally wanted the owner, Garcia to do it. After we met, he told me he thought I would be happier with Carlos' work, because of the nature of the piece I wanted. Carlos and I talked and made some agreements. The sleeve he gave me is AMAZING. It's everything I wanted with an extra dash of awesome added because that's what they do. I get compliments all the time and will be returning as soon as I figure out what needs to be on my other arm. My sleeve was finished over a year ago and the colors are still bold and beautiful. After spending a long time reading up on where I should go for my first tattoo, I came across Skin Art Gallery and seriously can't say enough how much I loved my experience here. I was incredibly nervous going into it since I had no idea how the process worked, but Shayla was very patient and helpful walking me through everything. I had a simple idea in my head that was a tribute to a passed family member and she turned it into an absolutely beautiful piece. I cannot speak highly enough of Ryan's (body mod/piercing artist) expertise, professionalism, skill, patience, and artistry. Ryan was the best in explaining the process.  This was my second time I got my nose pierced.  The first time I had it done the piercer was the worst in giving me after care instructions. Let me begin by saying that I had neither a tat nor a piercing done here. I did however go in, in search of a new stud for my nostril piercing. While Skin Art had some gorgeous clickers that may have worked, they couldn't sell any because they said the jewelry belonged to their piercer who was on vacation. First off, the shop itself is always kept up extremely well, clean, and located in a great location. I always get my tattoos by Trent but the rest of the guys are always super attentive to other customers, nice, and best of all, they do some epic tattoos (and piercings). I have gotten something like 10 tattoos from Trent in this shop and every one keeps blowing my mind. He is such a hard worker that it is impossible not be impressed with the commitment and care he puts into every tattoo. I decided to get a cross tattooed on my wrist for my 40th birthday. I walked into Skin Art gallery after reading numerous rave reviews and met Trent. I told him what I was looking for and set an appointment. When I arrived for my appointment, he had the design ready to go. He made a few recommendations for placement and we were off! Trent did an amzing job. It is absolutely beautiful! I had it pictured in my head for months and it looks so much better than I pictured. He was very gentle (I have read about tattoo artists that seems to have a ""heavy hand""), and the pain was minimal. I will recommend him to anyone that is looking to get a tattoo. The Skin Art Gallery itself is very nice and clean. That was very important to me. I met several other peolpe that work there while I was in and they were all very nice and professional. I went in on a Sunday around 8:00 PM and they were able to get me in within 5 mins. Adam greeted me and he was as sweet as sugar. He is such a nice person and his work is amazing. I got a tattoo from Kayden in March of '09- I had an idea and he was able to flesh it out and sketch the design for me. I was very happy with it . It was tat #7 and not as uncomfortable as some I've gotten. He did a great job. He is not heavy-handed and he stayed past closing time to get it finished. I came to Skin Art Gallery to pierce my left nostril. I told Ruby I preferred to use a white gold piercing (that I provided) because it was small and discreet. She agreed, sterilized it, shaped it, and pierced my nose. For the next 6 days, my nose was very painful, bright red, and my skin kept growing over the piercing (which made me have to keep pushing it back thru). I called and spoke with Toy, the shop manager and head piercer. Once I explained my issue, he said ""Ruby should never have pierced you with white gold since it's a porus metal which makes it easy for bacteria to grow!"" He went on to say ""any amateur knows not to pierce with white gold and Ruby should know better."" He instructed me to come in as soon as I could. He couldn't believe what my nose looked like (red, inflamed, skin growing over, pus) and confirmed that yes, it was infected. He apologized for Ruby's bad judgment and Ruby bent it way too short which did not allow for swelling and thus why my skin kept growing over it. I was crying, in pain, and explained to him that after such an ordeal, I did not want it to be pierced again (even after he healed). He agreed that I never should have gone thru this and offered to give me my money back as a gesture of good will. I was very grateful. Well, after several phone calls, complaints to the owner, and 2 wasted trips to pick up money that wasn't left for me (after I was told it was), I never have received my refund. I was given a most disappointing ""run-around."" Upon researching the state guidelines of tattoo/piercing shops, I've since learned that Skin Art Gallery has violated some rules. Ruby, my piercer, did no paperwork or checked my ID prior to her piercing me. Also, Skin Art was required to report my nostril infection to the State Dept of Health, which to my knowledge was never done. Read Less

I dropped in the other day to get a new tattoo. I did not have an appointment, but I was in a chair getting worked on within an hour (granted, it was a Thursday afternoon). My tattoo artist was Adam. He was nice enough to work me into his schedule without an appointment and he gave me the advice that I asked for regarding the tattoo. Admittedly, I don't get all that nervous about getting a new tattoo, but that doesn't mean that I don't prefer to have a friendly and pleasant person working on me to make the experience itself (not just the tattoo) a good one. We had a nice conversation and he was finished much sooner than I expected. He did a great job, I've had nothing but compliments on the tattoo. It's healing perfectly, no problems there. I only had an inkling of what I wanted but this place really put it together. I brought in a picture, described what I didnt like about it and within 10 minutes Trent had drawn something so unique and creative I knew it was what I wanted. He even helped me with how it should look with size and placement to make it look better. Everyone was super nice, it didnt hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would and now I have something that means something to me and that noone else has.
