Last year in early January I was diagnosed with migraines. I was put on topamax and a beta blocker. The Topomax stopped working and my nurse practitioner suggested I get a daith piercing. Misty was so wonderful and patient with me and explaining the process. The piercing was painful but not compared to the migraines I was having. I have not had a migraine since October. I had a good experience, but bad results. I got an industrial piercing on my right ear, and I later had to have it taken out because it was improperly placed and would never heal right. The customer service was great, but I would not recommend this place based on my experience. Read Less

I have to admit I was kind of skeptical getting another tattoo after my experience with a different shop. I was blown away with not only Richards design, but how into the work he did. It's awesome having someone love the tattoo they're doing for you. Richard even went another hour without charging me because he wanted to see it completed. Our 5 month old son passed away on January 31st due to RSV. We called several tattoo shops asking if they would use our sons ashes in the ink for our tats, Fear Factor was the only one that would do it or should I say they were happy to do it. We had a big group that wanted tats and they took very good care of us and got what we wanted. Misty did a dermal on my chest. Apparently her equipment was not clean because I woke up the next day in severe pain because it was infected. I went in to get it removed because the pain was so bad. When misty took it out she wanted to put it back in but I refused. I was not satisfied with my experiences at all and will not go back. Read Less

I was offered a warm welcoming while stepping in here. It immediately smelt/looked sterilized. They accepted my piercing requests unlike other shops. My piercer, Misty(?), was wonderfully easy to work with, understand, and trust. Even without an appointment, I was able to get in within an hour after walking in. Richard did an outstanding job on my new shoulder piece. He spent 5 hours getting it completed and he definitely is not heavy handed. The pain was minimal all the way to the end. I enjoyed my experience today at Fear Factor. Setting up an appointment with Robert was super easy. Richard was my artist and he explained what he thought would look best and did an excellent job. I wasn't expecting to be so happy with a tattoo but I totally am. Richard took his time on every detail and was very focused on his work. There's even a sign to not disturb Richard while he is tattooing because he's so focused!!! Mark, the other artist tattooed my wife at the same time and did an excellent job as well. I just overall enjoyed my experience. The lady who does piercings (missed her name) took well over fifteen minutes to explain in detail to a young lady how a dermal piercing works. She explained in detail what she would do and how to take care of the piercing. There's no reason to go to any other tattoo shop in Abilene because THIS is the ONE!!!! Read Less

Had a tattoo done many years ago from a different artist in a different state and I was never happy with it. Finally made the decision to get a cover up. Went to Fear Factor and talked to Richard. We discussed what I want and my ideas. Richard was up front and gave an honest opinion about what would and wouldn't work for my cover up. Paid a deposit and then set an appointment.  Richard was extremely professional, charged by the hour and when he wasn't working, the timer stopped. He got down for 5 hours and I believe he could have sat there for several more, but I was reaching my tolerance. He's not heavy handed and I am absolutely impressed with the work he's done. Richard is a great artist and his assistant does amazing work as well. He's a really cool guy and is very good at keeping you calm while he works. He's light handed so it makes the pain that much less. My tattoo has perfect line thickness and the pain and redness is almost completely unnoticeable. This tattoo will probably heal up very clean. Awesome place to get a tattoo. Besides his work being excellent he's very professional. He made sure he understood exactly what I wanted but offered up many suggestions as how go make my tattoo look it's best.
