Great shop, clean and professional. Two of us walked in from out of town on a Sunday night and were helped and tattooed right away. They weren't overtly talkative and seemed disinterested but hey, it's the end of the week and we wanted very simple designs. AJ did a great job with our tattoos, was kind in the conversation we did have. In the 30-45~ mins we spent in  the shop, I Def recommend and would go back if ever in Nashville again. First timers were made to feel super comfortable. Our group of conservative, middle aged moms could have been made to feel really stupid since we were totally out of our element in a tattoo shop, but they were very nice, helpful & patient with us. My two friends and I were walk-ins on a Sunday. We went right as it opened so we were the only ones in there. From the moment we walked in you could tell it was clean. The three guys working were really friendly and they made us all feel comfortable, which made it a lot better since it was the first time my friends were getting tattoos. What was really cool is that the tattoos we envisioned and the fonts we showed them, they easily were able to get as close as they could.The two guys who tatted us were light handed and did a really great job! Every single time I have stepped foot into Victory Tattoo I felt welcomed by Charley and the rest of the crew. I have only gotten work from AJ Lingerfeldt and am blown away with his creativity and suggestions when I get something new. Mia, Max and Ian are all super hilarious and friendly!! Really cool people. I've been here several times throughout the years. However, every time I come it gets more expensive. The last time I came in I was quoted $200 for something I eventually got at Black 13 for $80, (and Black 13 is always called the most expensive shop). In fact, I've gotten gorgeous/large pieces at Golden Yeti and Black 13 for $250-300 that would have cost $600 here. The last tattoo I got here I literally only got because I only had an hour free all week, and the design/size was already agreed upon. Once again, cool people, but after at least a dozen visits, no more. Price gouging for absolutely no reason. Go to Golden Yeti for amazing artists/affordable prices, or hell, even Black 13. Clean and safe shop with knowledgeable tattoo artists who work and own this business. I'm asked frequently at my work where I get tattooed. I feel confident enough in the shop and the artists to refer every client to them. I have only been tattooed by Mia Graffam but everyone there shows nothing but outstanding work. Some people complain about paying an extra $20 or whatever here but it's well worth it. Nashville is a growing city where people spend $15 for a burger so spend the extra $20 on a tattoo that will last a lot longer than a burger in your stomach. What started as a chance encounter (I was visiting my parents in town and wanted to get a stomach piece done and this shop is up the street from them), has become so much more for me. I recently got a memorial tattoo by Mia for my American bulldog who passed away in April and it was such a positive and good experience. The vibe of Victory is super mellow and everyone is friendly and does incredibly work for appropriate prices. You get what you pay for, and then some. I already have my next tattoo from AJ at Victory in the works and I will keep going here until I don't have any room left! Mia made me feel so comfortable during the tattoo and it was really hard emotionally because it was a tattoo of the dog I had for 9 years, and am still grieving, and she took the time and gave it the attention it needed and was so kind. This tattoo shop was amazing. They great you as soon as you walk through the door and make the process of meeting artists and seeing their old work extremely easy. As I had an old tribal band that I wanted covered up, this was not going to be an easy task for anyone. After years of searching for the right artist, I had finally met AJ. He did an absolute amazing coverup. My wife and I were just in shock when he was finished. I now have a posiedon shoulder piece and couldn't be any happier. His attention to detail and creativity was out of this world. This man is a true artist! He took the job very serious and he kept the place very clean and hospitable!! Yelp is a powerful tool and should be wielded with respect to all involved. I caution readers to recognize that some reviews are left with spite and completely untrue narratives. Just because you put quotations around a sentence does NOT make it true. Nashville is an expensive place to live these days and getting more so by the day, and everyone feels that. Everyone deserves the right to be paid for their hard work regardless if your a server, mechanic or tattooer. Leaving a one star review because you are unhappy with a price quote is ridiculous, If a $20 difference in price is stopping you from getting a well executed tattoo from an artist with 5-10 years of tattoo experience, that is your choice and not the fault of the artists or the shop. Lower star if could. So appalling to how we were treated to THE first tattoo parlor we went to our first time in Nashville. We went to get a price, for a lower back- high butt tattoo that is very tiny,  and they were rude. Even though we called prior to going they gave us a lower price and we were OKAY with a little higher never we respect the art of what they do and believe they deserve well deserved money. The guy that works there: Ignores us when we came in and did not treat us with the customer service everyone deserves. He even answered the phone when we were in mid conversation. And he did not excuse himself.And quickly before he answered- despite the other people working there that could of answered. He told us well we aren't going to draw you anything unless you pay.. which NO actual artist will not show you an example without paying them.. but we said okay.. as he answered the phone Then girl- comes up to us and says hi what are we doing. And then we said we were figuring stuff out and we were working with him, and he gets off and we say no thank you and very sincerely say we're sorry but we know of another place up the road that is 60$ not 90$ for And she says loud enough for US to hear as were leaving, I was going to tell them to fuck off any ways. And get the fuck out. I'm sorry, but just because someone decides to go with someone else you they don't deserve to be treated that way.  Just pathetic how they act. Read Less

Got a very simple tattoo 2x4" black, on my leg, and it was the worst tattoo I've ever gotten. The ink bled  about 4" out and around the tattoo and feels like a bad sunburn to the touch a year later. I'm left with a small tattoo with a 6x8" patch of blue skin around it. On top of that it was poorly done. I won't be going back. Also it was not done by an apprentice. Read Less

When I called to make an appointment the guy that I talked to was very short with me- I asked if I should make an appointment when I was more than a few hours away, he told me that they were not booked at all and I could call when I was an hour away. This is the only place in Nashville where I'll get tattooed!I don't usually care enough to leave reviews, but the artists here are fantastic people as well outstanding artists. They take walk-ins, which is great, especially since no matter which artist you get paired with, It's pretty much guaranteed that they will do a better job than you could ever imagine. Really clean work, reasonable prices, and again, just a really great staff. They take their time sketching to make sure you have a great design and are sure to discuss pricing and everything right off the bat so you already know what you're looking at before a needle touches your skin. horrible experience. Went to get a tattoo to honor my dog who I had just put to sleep 2 days earlier after having her 12 years. Back and forth about price, anyways decided a small collar and a tag with her name, maybe 2'2 on my calf. I had mentioned maybe wanting the words Never Forgotten included, but after seeing the sketch decided to go with the collar and name as I didn't want the whole thing to big. Was informed "no worries", can always add. Decided I liked the tattoo as was the size, ect...The price $250 included The Words Never Forgotten, which based on the sketch was bigger than the collar and name. After letting them know I was good with the tattoo of just the collar and name and wouldn't be adding on anything now or later, that maybe I should be refunded little because the work wasn't going to be done, this is the response I received.I think I understand now, but the price was set and agreed upon. What you received was a $250 tattoo. Because of the size and level of work that design would take. If you couldn't afford the price we asked, you could have politely declined and come back another day.This is the response from Victory when I asked about maybe getting some money back seeing I didn't go with the sketch. Is this good customer relations. Help me understand. Is a bad review worth the $100.00 I asked for back because the work not completed. I would think not. I'm putting this out here because I was taking advantage of. If it happens once, it's to much. I like the tattoo, and have no issues with it, but the sketchy response below, sorry. I WOULD HOPE THEY WOULD DOO THE RIGHT THING. I'll keep you informed. Clearly it wasn't about the money because I paid it. What are you not getting? Be careful of this place. I got my first tattoo done here and could not have been more impressed. The place was extremely clean and everyone was very personable. Josh David was my artist and he was phenomenal. He truly cared about how I wanted my tattoo drawn. I was nervous because it was my first tattoo and he made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I'm thrilled with my experience at Victory.  Although I was a walk in last evening (a Wednesday) I only had to wait 45 minutes for Matt to finish the tattoo he was working on before he could start on mine.  I asked for a small and unoriginal design. He executed it flawlessly.  TBH, I was prepared to be balked at for my choice of design and its simplicity, but there was none of that.  He even seemed a little excited to do it.  Every staff member I met was very approachable.  In summary, good people doing great tattoos in a very clean parlor.  I'd certainly go back to Victory. Jason Fancher is a friend of mine from Galt High school. Many years after graduating I was reading stuff on Facebook (or maybe even MySpace) and I came across Jason's page. He was a well known, talented artist that had great work. He and I messaged a little back and forth and I found out he was going to be in town soon visiting for the Tattoo Convention. I was very lucky to be able to be fit into his busy schedule and I met him downtown at a Tattoo location where he does work while in town visiting. He did my tattoo on the top of my foot and I couldn't be happier. I love it. Now if only he was visiting other times when I have that burning desire for another tattoo....
