I was in town on business, walked in on a busy Saturday morning, looking for a small Autism Awareness tattoo to honor my son. Titan and its owner Karen Cain are amazing! I have gotten four pieces there now including a big back and a big side piece. Three of the four included cover-ups. Karen is incredible. She is an artist and a professional, knowledgeable tattooist. Each piece was custom designed with my input and came out detailed, well-executed, and healed in record time thanks to her technique. Went to Titan Tattoo for my 4th tattoo and had a really great experience. After looking through the portfolios I loved the clean lines in Karen's work and so she gladly looked at a few pictures I had to create the vision I had in my head. She didn't make me feel rushed and made sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. The place was incredibly clean and Karen took her time to make sure her work was perfect. It was a painful location on the ribs, and she worked to just get it done so I could power through. She was also very reasonably priced compared to the other work I've had. I am the most indecisive person on the planet. I'm a perfectionist with high anxiety. Ray handled my visit like a champ. He had the patience of a saint and his assistant (didn't catch his name, just know he's from Alabama) was so nice and helpful. I had them change my font twice and reposition my stencil 3 times and they both worked with me until it was perfect. I definitely give Titan and their staff 5 stars. I was in town for a conference and was looking for a place to pierce my nose that was close to my hotel. Checked Yelp and found Titan (thanks fellow Yelpers!). The reviews were great and a quick Lyft ride away. I had 2 hours before catching a show so I called to see if I needed to make an appointment. Kelsey said they don't need appointments for piercings, it takes more time to complete the paperwork than the actual piercing. Sweet!As soon as I arrived, Kelsey was fantastic. She was very professional and explained everything she was going to do. She did a great job. I had both sides of my nose done and they were even. If you are looking for a shop to get a tattoo, please READ my review. I know it's lengthy but I hope it helps answer some questions similar to what I had before I got inked and helps you decide where to go to get your next tattoo (which should be TITAN and I'll explain why). Having said that, I am not from Nashville and actually planned a getaway with friends. We all decided to get tattoos (I've wanted one for 15 years but was never brave enough to pull the trigger) and we had NEVER been tattooed before. I knew my concept and it meant a lot to me, so a bad tattoo would have been DEVASTATING. I am a researcher and wanted to make sure I made the best choice possible, so I got online and started researching tattoo shops in Nashville (ok borderline obsessed with finding the perfect place). I read LOTS of reviews (good and bad) and narrowed down my choice to 4 shops in Nashville. I emailed all four shops a few months prior to our getaway weekend. One never responded to my email, another said they could not do what I wanted in the time I had for the price I could afford (their hourly rate was RIDICULOUS), and the 3rd one did not really seem interested in the business. The fourth shop I emailed was Titan Tattoo. Karen, the owner, responded to my email quickly and thanked me for my interest in her shop. I arranged through email a phone consultation and instantly connected and felt comfortable with Karen. She answered all my questions very professionally (some of them were ridiculous I'm sure) and seemed willing to work with me on my concept, time window, and pricing. We paid our deposit and kept in contact for the months leading up to our getaway. She listened to my ideas and would redraw to add things I wanted. She personalized my tattoo and I was VERY happy with what we came up with. My husband's artist was Michael and he was just as amazing as Karen at helping him finalize his concept and come up with a killer trash polka tattoo. Time came for us to fly to Nashville and we went to the shop to meet everyone in person. I was SO impressed by how clean and well maintained the shop was. The artists were friendly and very helpful. You could tell they truly care about their craft and create quality art and tattoos. She explained the whole process to us step-by-step and detail-by-detail. I was so grateful and what she told me about aftercare was spot on. When it was my turn for my 4-hour shoulder piece, Karen was AWESOME! She was such a perfectionist and did AMAZING work. I could not believe she could get that much detail and definition into my tattoo. Getting tattooed was painful but totally manageable. You could tell she knew her craft and it healed very nicely. Clean lines, great shading, no trauma to my skin, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everyone in our group felt the same way (we had 3 different artists) and my husband's 2-hour trash polka piece looked sick. I was so pleased with how well it turned out. So long story short, Titan Tattoo is EVERYTHING you are looking for. DO NOT be nervous about going to this shop. They are VERY professional artists and run an EXCEPTIONAL business. I came in to get my upper lobe pierced and the piercings in my forward helix and helix changed. My cartilage piercings were two months old and still hurt. Not even the saline soaks were helping. It turns out that the Piercer who pierced my cartilage used the wrong type of earring and my ear was infected. Karen was very good about cleaning my ears and then putting in the correct type of earrings. It's only been a couple days but my ears are feeling a hundred times better.The upper lobe piercing Karen did for me was almost painless and I've had no issues with it. She changed her gloves every time she touched something that wasn't me. Her dedication to cleanliness was impressive. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in the Nashville area.Thanks Karen. I was in Nashville for work and had the itch to get some ink. I called the shop to see if there were any slots available and Kelsey was extremely friendly and recommended I come on by to work on an idea. When I arrived, she quickly put together a nice idea with me for a tattoo on my forearm. Her line work was great and the end result was really awesome. This shop is amazing and so is Karen! I am not a Tennessee local (Chicago girl born and raised) so I was nervous about committing to a shop so far away. After reading reviews and looking at other places online, I decided to book an appointment with Karen. The shop was clean and professional and I could say similar things about Karen! She was never disrespectful and actually often apologized for potentially offending me, which she certainly never did.She worked perfectly with each of my requests on the drawing (I can be a bit of a control freak), and made me feel confident with each decision that was made. I sat through a 3 hour armpit/rib cage tattoo.. Let's just say it wasn't pleasant. Karen was incredibly understanding and I absolutely couldn't have asked for someone with better bed side manner. She was kind throughout the entire experience and had some very interesting things to talk about to keep my mind at ease.The pricing was not overly cheap, but certainly not outrageous. Considering I paid $150 for 5 words on my opposite side, I'm not at all upset with the $350 I ended up paying for this art. All said and done, I could not have asked for a better tattoo experience. I've gotten a couple of different pieces done here and this is hands down my favorite tattoo place in Nashville. I think my favorite piece I had done was a cover up. No one else at any other tattoo place I had gone to would even consider doing anything with this cover up because of where it was and how it was done. They did it and it looks awesome.
