This was as good as I could have wanted in an experience.  I have had numerous other tattoos, but the entire experience for these were fantastic.I emailed the Safe House and, based on what I wanted, they directed me to the best artist for it who communicated back and forth with me on what I wanted, examples, pricing, timing, etc.  It was very smooth and the artist, Adam, was very helpful and professional and really helped me solidify everything.On the day of, he again went over everything, making sure that it was exactly right before any real work started.  He was friendly, affable, professional and above all *excellent*.  I walked out of there with a huge smile on my face for it. Very clean tattoo shop. Staff was welcoming and courteous. We were walk-in clientele and they were accommodating. Artist came up and introduced himself. Most of the tattoo shops we have every been to have not been like this. It was truly a breath of fresh air. Adam did my tattoo that I got about a month ago. This being my first tattoo, he was very kind and reassuring that it really doesn't hurt that bad. He did a great job and designed exactly what I wanted. Very quick service and very clean environment. I paid to book English to do a cover-up tattoo for me over a month in advance. I emailed her pics to inspire the tat. I kept waiting and waiting to see the art for my tattoo, which was very special for me. I never received anything from her as to when a draft would be prepared Despite sending several follow-up emails.Fed up with her lack of communication, I sent her an email to cancel my appointment and demanded a refund of my deposit. I can’t very well get a tattoo of something I’ve never seen and I can’t make a decision on whether I want something on my body permanently in the two minutes before the needle comes out. She finally responded to my demand for a refund and said she doesn’t give refunds. I don’t trust this place, bad customer service! Read Less

Eli was so great! I was super nervous because it was my first tattoo. He printed multiple sizes of my design so it would be a size I liked. I have been going to Ben for years, well before he was at Safe House. As far as his work is concerned in my eyes I would never let anyone else touch me, but these guys at Safe House are awesome. I started my sleeve a year ago, and with my limited time availability I was in the shop once a month, so these guys seriously became like family. Chip's work is unreal, Adam kills some vintage vibe looks, Eli's work is beautiful, and English also produces some stunning work. Ben is my go-to, always has been, and always will be. Had a great experience here. Very clean shop in a renovated old warehouse giving the whole place a cool vibe. All the staff was really nice and interested in what each other was working on. This is my first nashville tattoo experience but it trumped all my other tattoo experiences for sure! Pretty easy to make an appointment. We even got in on a Saturday with just a couple days notice. Adam was super super awesome, and took his time with us and made adjustments as needed. My tattoo was very simple but he did a great job. An oasis in the desert of the tattoo parlors many of us have unfortunately come to expect. No stuck-up "we're better than you" attitudes here and not a "oh how cute you're getting your first tattoo ya dumb newbie" side-eye in sight. From the front of house to the artists to the owner himself, both my wife AND I experienced nothing but 110% professionalism, kindness, levity, and a genuine excitement to be apart of our pieces. Josh the manager was awesome and responded to our initial inquiry very quickly and even redirected us to an artist better suited for the tattoos we wanted than the original artist we chose. LOVED! My daughter and I got tattooed by Ben Ritchie. We are so pleased with the way they turned out. I emailed the shop owner a picture of what we were looking for and he matched us with Ben. Ben took the picture and turned it into something that was similar, but still the styling that we wanted. Ben is quick and very talented! I paid $400 dollars for a tattoo by Chip Harbin. The first time i went the tattoo looked great, but when it healed the ink didn't heal well (no fault of his own). However, I went back two days ago to get it retouched and the line work looks terrible. (I posted pictures) all of the staff are very friendly and most of the tattoos coming out of there look awesome. Touch ups were free which was great, and customer service and vibe were great as well, but in my opinion the tattoo isn't worth $400. Read Less

Great location and incredible talent! Super friendly and inviting. Plus it's in a super cool renovated warehouse that has lots of other shops (food, coffee, gifts, etc.). This is fantastic shop in every aspect! My husband and I were coming to Nashville to visit friends and both booked appointments with Zane. The shop was fantastic and the entire staff could not have been more friendly to us.Zane did a phenomenal job on both of our tattoos though they could not have been more different - I wanted a watercolor style lilac and my husband a Simpson character. It is clear that Zane can handle ANY type of design you throw at him! Both came out wonderfully! Even strangers have come up to me to comment on what a beautiful tattoo I have. I went in to schedule a tattoo. They picked out an artist for me. I personally wanted someone else, but was okay with the person chosen to do my tattoo. I was given the gentleman's email, and promptly emailed him with the details of what I wanted and placement. I received an email for a date and time, and confirmed both. I went to my appointment and the artist wasn't there, nor was there a record of me scheduling an appointment. I was upset, and did have to take a breather. Once I returned, I asked to reschedule. I was told I'd get either an email or a phone call. Neither came, so I went to someone else.The positives were that the space in open, clean and nicely designed.
