So glad we stumbled upon this place! We were visiting Nashville for the day and went to one tattoo shop that didn't have any spots for walk ins, and they suggested we go to Gold Club. The price they quoted was way too much and the artist didn't really understand our request so we decided to put off the tattoos until I realized this place was walking distance and we already paid for parking. Kustom Thrills is amazing on all levels! They're professional, the place is clean and the entire place is just filled with awesome character and great people. I thought this shop would be amazing to get some additional tattoos from their reviews, but unfortunately I was never able to experience their services. This rating is based on service alone not talent. I came in after working and waited at the reception desk for over 20 minutes for someone to help me out but instead I was ignored. Another individual came in after me and within 3 minutes was greeted and ask how he could be helped. I just had to walk-out and leave. My girlfriends and I just visited a few different tattoo places before we found Kustom Thrills. I am a creative human with a very extensive vocabulary and i still could never possibly rate this experience highly enough. The design came out better than I could have expected. So yeon kim did my tattoo and has a very light touch, so much so that there were times I didn't know needle was making contact with skin. I would give less if I could. I had a cool experience once but that artist is not there. But the guy I got Jake did a terrible job on a very simple tattoo that a apprentice could have done a great job on. I took pictures of it and sent them to him showing the poor work done,,,.he said he and his friends thought it’s just a blot of ink.?!? I went in the shop to show him the poor work and he thought that there was nothing wrong with it and told me to bring in my original piece of art back in so he could compare? Do not go there. Went on Monday for 2 tattoos - Nathan was personable, professional, and did a great job - very pleased.You are taking your chances with getting in if you only walk-in, wold advise to schedule an appointment.  I called at noon (opening time) and was told that they accept walk-ins (apparently without checking their calendar) and when I got there was told they wouldn't be able to see me until 8PM ... still though, it was worth it.I will definitely consult with Nathan on any new tattoos.Place is clean and everyone was personable. Flew from Charleston, SC to Nashville to get my 6th tattoo from Adam. The 1st 5 are amazing and I love them, but this 6th piece absolutely floored me. The atmosphere was okay, one of the nicer shops I've been into, but the guy who did my boyfriends and my tattoos was seriously overpriced.2 one and a half inch tattoos that I literally emailed a picture of him as a reference to what we wanted was copied exactly and extra $20 for shading in a tiny heart?Disappointed. I cannot say enough great things about this place. Very clean, welcoming and friendly staff, and incredibly talented artists. I talked to Chris about creating a piece that was very personal and special to me. He was honest and said he couldn't do it how I wanted but referred me to Abel who could. Let me tell you - they both nailed it. I was a little nervous since I didn't have an exact sketch or clear idea of what I truly wanted myself, but I was able to give Abel some ideas and direction and he literally made my "idea" a reality. He totally and completely nailed it. I went in at the end of March for my first session and will be going back in a couple of weeks to finish it up. I came to Kustom Thrills - Yelp as my primary validation for my final selection of where to best go in Nashville - and I couldn't be happier.QUICK POINTSClean, well-kept shop.Professional staff.Fair, reasonable pricing.Takes credit card, can tip with card through their system.CONSULTATIONI came in for a consultation, just to get an idea of what I was getting into and what could be done, and Caitlin at the front desk was incredibly helpful! She eventually had me meet with one of the artists, Nathan, and I ended up scheduling an appointment with him. My two small tattoos were simpler in design - outline of California with a heart in SoCal, outline of Tennessee with a heart in Nashville - and Nathan still took a great deal of time making sure that everything was as true to shape, proportion, etc. I felt I was in good hands. APPOINTMENTFor the actual appointment itself, they were right on schedule, which is always appreciated. Nathan took time to finalize the specifics to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. I am sad to say that I definitely passed out twice before we were even through the first tattoo (note: eating enough for fuel before getting a tattoo seems to be a pretty important prep step, take note, and I am not great with needles so I suppose I should've seen it coming?), was most embarrassed, and Caitlin and Nathan were so great about it all. Knowing that I would be visiting Nashville for the first time, I immediately decided that I wanted to get my first tattoo. After some research, I'd narrowed it down to 3 shops, but Kustom Thrills gave me the best impression based on everything I saw and read online. I never made an appointment (slightly risky since I didn't know how booked they were) so my friend and I went in on a Friday afternoon at around 4:00. Adam greeted us and immediately started getting us checked in. He was friendly and welcoming from the second he said hello, I immediately was glad we chose this shop! He drew up our tattoos in ten minutes, had our paperwork signed, and we were ready to go. Knowing it was my first tattoo, he was making sure I knew what he was doing every step of the way. He started slowly so I could get used to it and after a while started talking to me so I had something else to concentrate on. I struggled to find a tattoo parlor in Nashville with reasonable prices and great work for a while until someone recommended Kustom Thrills. After checking out their website portfolios, I decided any of the artists would be great for what I wanted. I went in on a Friday evening wanting an estimate and hoping I could get an appointment pretty soon since I didn't have an artist preference. While it did take a while for someone to ask if I needed help (about 10 minutes or so of me just standing at the front desk), the service was excellent from that point on. The price was excellent, so I decided to move forward. They were able to get me in that evening, and almost exactly an hour from the time I walked in, I walked out. Haven't received the actual tattoo yet but I am very encouraged by the ownerships response.I got the tattoo yesterday and am beyond thrilled. Kustom Thrills is a beautiful place where dreams come true and body parts become works of art...Seriously. They take pride in giving you a tattoo you are happy with and do not rush you or make you feel like just another customer they have to trace on. For this reason, you should def make an appointment first. You could still go by and speak to them first, but know you prob won't just be a walk-in and you will have to wait a couple days or weeks to get your ink. Good things come to those who wait, you know. And I personally would rather wait for a 5 star tattoo and pay for quality work than go to fast food strip mall shop and pick my tat from a wall poster that day. I moved to Nashville six months ago and have been asking folks for recommendations to the best tattoo places in the area. Last weekend I saw two great pieces. Both people told me they got them at Kustom Thrills and highly recommended them. They told me everyone there is great and you can't go wrong with any of the artists. Last night I got a tattoo by Mia Graffam, a guest artist visiting from NYC. She did amazing work. Kustom Thrills is clean, comfortable, and has a really nice vibe to it. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I like a tattoo shop that looks and feels like a tattoo shop, not a hair salon. Kustom Thrills definitely fits that description but it's not a gritty biker type place, which I like but some folks find intimidating. I highly recommend this shop and can't wait to go back. My best friend was in town & wanted matching tattoos. I love my tattoo artist she didn't work that day & we took a chance. Richie took us as a walk-in, spent 5 minutes stenciling the image we gave him, a small olive branch about 2.5inX1in, and took us back. I have plenty of tattoos of varying sizes, and the average shop minimum is 50 or 60 bucks, so I didn't sweat asking about cost, figuring it would take him 20 min per person. I'm familiar with the saying "Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good", but this was neither. He spent MAYBE 7 minutes tattooing each of us, the finished product was "meh" , then he shuffled us to the register & had the GALL to charge us $80 a piece! Had he bothered to give our permanent body alterations the focus and respect that we deserved, I would have been less miffed about having my wallet ravaged . When we got home, I noticed that our "matching" tattoos were totally inconsistent in color. I feel angry and taken advantage of, and I'm telling all my tattooed friends, of whom I have plenty. I hope they "trim the fat" for the sake of what seemed to be a nice shop. Read Less
