I just recently moved to East Nashville from Columbus, Ohio and have been wanting a new tattoo for awhile. I looked at a bunch of Yelp reviews and looked at many websites and instagram pages and even walked into a few shops just to see the vibe and some more of their work. I decided on GCE because I dug the atmosphere and they art. I walked in yesterday on a random Monday (April Fools Day) and looked around for a bit. I talked to the shop manager and told him I was pretty open on the design as I am planning on adding many American traditional pieces to my arm and just covering it piece by piece. We decided on an eagle and Zack had an amazing design he wanted to show me. He finished the tattoo he was working on, pulled up his art and I decided if it would fit we would do it. He got me in and we started the session. It lasted about 2 and a half hours maybe, it felt pretty quick anyways. He said my skin took the ink well and it was a fun and cool tattoo for him to do, which made me feel like I made the right choice for the tattoo, the shop and the artist. I would definitely recommend the shop to anyone who wants a tattoo whether it's your first, or like me who has a few, but has gotten to a new place in my life. Such promising reviews for this place, but it didn't live up to the hype.After my mom had spent 50 years on this planet, I finally talked her into getting a tattoo. We were in Nashville to celebrate her 50th and I knew if I didn't drag her out to get one there the momentum would pass and she would never do it.Gold Club Electric came highly recommended both by Yelp and personal friends. It was near our Air BNB so it seemed perfect. The apprentice working the front desk when we got there was great & clearly appreciated what a great experience it was for mother and daughter to get tattooed together for her 50th.That was where the enthusiasm ended. I can't remember our artist's name, but he was an older man and you could tell he was just incredibly put off by the tattoos he was doing for us. Look, I get it. We were two white ladies getting some pretty basic tattoos. Not exactly the stuff you dreamed of doing when you became a tattoo artist. And I have plenty of other tattoos on me that evidenced I value artistic integrity and independence. But, they were quick tattoos and we were paying well for them. And even if he hated the simplicity of them, a little excitement for the experience that was clearly very special to us would not have been misplaced. He basically didn't talk to either of us the entire time.As I said, my tattoo was quite simple yet the linework is still pretty shaky (it's a crescent moon outline in black ink)--the line was much thicker than it needed to be and there's a dip in one side of it. They also made my mom enlarge her tattoo much bigger than it needed to be. I knew it wasn't going to be as small as she envisioned, but they enlarged what should have been a wrist tattoo to nearly half the size of her forearm.In the end, my mom loves the tattoo so alls well that ends well--I just wish her first experience had been better. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. These guys are amazing. My tattoo artist was Sean Drennen and he did the best job on my piece. He was so easy to work with/talk to during the whole session. The price was perfect for the work he did and it went by fast and easy. I would tell everyone to go to Gold Club Electric for any kind of tattoo and plan on getting the rest of my tattoos done only here even when I'm not in Nashville. Looks like a decent place to get a tattoo on vacation. Nice staff, unable to work with our original design. "Could be anywhere from $60-$80" they say, once we showed the picture we wanted. "That's like $80 if you want that?" They say, after he came back unable to make the size smaller like we wanted. The design was a letter "K" with a heart outline the size of a dime btw. Where to even start, I must say it was my best tattooing experience.. from Sean Drennan treating me like one of his own family members, to all the other amazing artists giving their Input ,and all being extremely kind and good people. I can honestly say when I move to Texas, I will come back to this shop all the way from Waco, Texas.. not just because the amazing artists, but because the amazing shop owner.. one of the greatest guys around, a true stand up guy, who is hilarious! This joint is the place to visit if you want quality work. Not only are the artists mad talented and friendly, but the shop itself has character. It's a cool place just to be in. You'll probably find inspiration for your next tattoo just by looking at all the art on the walls. I fly into town once or twice a year on business and always try to swing by GCE to get a tattoo when I’m in town.The shops even better now that they’ve relocated to east Nashville where all the real fun in Nashville goes down. Guys are well known in the tattoo world for their work and are worth what they cost. They’ve never done me wrong and always treated me kindly. 10/10 would recommend getting tattooed by them. Walked in today with 3 people interested in getting tattoos. We stood in the lobby for probably 15 minutes before someone acknowledged us. There were no other guests getting worked on and there were at least 4 staff inside. When someone finally reached out, they were helpful, but referred us to their front desk staff who had “just stepped out” and they didn’t know where he went. The front desk person was even less concerned with us, and didn’t offer any information or invitation for help. Everyone seemed hungover or maybe stoned, which is fine, but at least give us some acknowledgement. I was quoted $280 for some very simple work (definitely too expensive for the piece). I would have paid that much for it, but how do I trust someone with a tattoo who doesn’t seem to care about my business? I declined the offer and left. I was visiting East Nashville for the day, my boyfriend and I decided to get tattoos. We went into this place and NOBODY spoke to us for 15 minutes. There were artists in the back just speaking to each other, except for one nice blonde man. He was the only good part about my experience there. I didn’t get his name. So we looked at artwork and asked about prices. They told us it was a $80 minimum...which was fine until reading responses from the owner on google saying the minimum is $60. Anyways, the workers there all looked stoned and like they didn’t care whether they got our business or not. That’s not a way to run a business. It left a bad taste in my mouth after we finally just gave up and left. Luckily, the night got better because that part of town is awesome. But yeah, I really wouldn’t recommend this place. Sarah Jordan did microblading on my eyebrows and then gave my lashes a lift with extensions. I wanted her to keep my brows looking natural in fear of people knowing I had work done. My brows were a little thinner than I preferred and I had been looking for sometime for the right person. Sarah's work is so precise and tediously done that I have never had someone ask if I had micoblading done. Instead, I just get compliments and people asking what oil I use to have my brows grow in more thick. I then had her give me lash extensions for my sister's wedding. I visited Sarah here and my experience was life changing! I can’t reccomend this place enough. It’s clean and the entire staff is extremely professional. I came here to look into microblading. As someone with naturally thin eyebrows and hates it, I was very skeptical as to whether or not microblading was a path I should take. Sarah was very communicative and honest with me. She openly and honestly weighed to pros and cons of the procedure. Though I was hesitant at first I am so glad I got it done! They look so natural but so much fuller and more suitable for my face. I came in as a walk in and was welcomed with a really awesome group of artists. I had never gotten a tattoo before so I decided to go big or go home and got a sternum tattoo. My very friendly tattoo artist Sean could tell I was nervous and reassured me through my session. He was so cool and was easy to connect with and we talked during the whole session which was two hours. The details he did on my tattoo is incredible, when I showed him the picture of what I wanted he suggested a few touch ups and changes that made the tattoo look cleaner and more full. The pricing was perfect for what i wanted and for how long the session took. I  paid $250 not including tip, i had fine lines and shading done. A year ago I got a tattoo from this place. I was excited to graduate high school and decided to get a simple line on my hand to celebrate. I was a walk in at this shop. They charged me $100 for a simple line on my hand and made me wait while my artist had a cigarette break. He free handed the line. There are two different places where the ink blew out. I visited here at 11PM on a Friday, and explained what I wanted, which was a penguin, and some text. It was my 37th tattoo, so I'm definitely no newbie to what a tattoo costs.I don't have any complaints about the quality of the tattoo, because it's well done. It's what I asked for. However, I was quoted $200, which I thought was a bit pricey. However, I realized that since it was late on a Friday, they probably just wanted to go home. I'll call this the "walking in the door late tax". Fine. The entire session took 35 minutes, since it was a simple cartoon from the internet, and simple text. There wasn't much in the way of line drawing. I was in and out of the shop in an hour, and for tattoos of similar size, I have never paid more than $170.At the end of the session, when it was time to pay, the guy at the counter said $300. That was odd, because we started at $200. I'm not the type of make a big deal out of it, because that's not my style. They also asked me to get cash from the ATM next door, which cost me two fees, since the max ATM limit there is $200. (They clearly have a way to process credit cards, but chose to take cash. Fine, I get it. Report less to the IRS. I don't care.)There are plenty of great tattoo shops in Nashville, and honestly -- I should have just gone to Kustom Thrills, since it's literally a block away, and I have experience with them. I just chose to be lazy, which I now regret. If you want to overpay, or be price-gouged for your tattoos, this is the spot for you.I won't complain about the quality. It's a good tattoo. I couldn't of asked for a better tattoo experience than the one I received at Gold Club. I was greeted immediately upon walking into the shop, no waiting around and getting the feeling that "why am I here". I informed the shop manager that I had an appointment that afternoon and was a few minutes early, which was no big deal. The artist I had the appointment with was just finishing up a tattoo. As soon as he was finished came right over and showed me what he had drawn up for the tattoo, which surpassed the idea that I had made up haha. I was beyond thrilled with the finished tattoo and couldn't thank them enough. This was the second time I've been tattooed at Gold Club, i do not live in Nashville but travel a lot up there for business and will always make sure to put some time aside to go there and get tattooed. My husband and I were in town visiting for the week, and I wanted to get a small tattoo while on vacation. We arrived about 30 minutes after the shop opened, and was promptly greeted. Since my tattoo was small, being a walk in was no problem (I don't foresee other tattoos being a problem as a walk-in either). Murray was my artist, and he was very patient as my husband and I decided on the location of my tattoo. This place is awesome! I live in Nashville for work and my best friend was visiting town. We were out at lunch and I said lets go get a tattoo, hesitantly she agreed. I showed her the Fluer De lis I had been wanting to pay homage to our home town. I looked up a tattoo studio some friends had told me about. We walked about 20 minutes there only to find out they weren't taking walk ins. I asked if they could recommend a place and they said gold electric, we called first and the guy said sure come on in we aren't busy yet. We walked another 20 minutes to printers alley (my phone was dead and her phone has 5%) we got there and the guys At the desk were very nice and got us started on paper work while they drew up the design. The owners dad was there , he is from New York and had the true New York accent, he was so nice and we joked with him and he told us about NY. I was tattooed by Jay he is from Atalanta but was working in nashville that weekend. He was so awesome he even let me use his phone charger, the tattoo was super fast and perfect. I could not have asked for a better experience. GCE has an atmosphere like no other. The staff is super friendly. The shop is incredibly clean (I am a nurse- this was very important to me). The pricing was on definitely fair- anyone who thinks otherwise is probably new to tattoos or okay with settling for less than amazing art. This review is extremely delayed but better late than never. I walked into Gold Club to get a tattoo last spring while in town for work. I wanted to get a little tattoo and despite a few of the tattooers being out of town for the Boston Convention, and the remaining tattooers being pretty busy, PJ made time for me. I've been in a lot of tattoo shops in a lot of different parts of the country and Gold Club stands out in every single way. Everyone was polite, fun to hang out with, and made me feel at home after a rough work day. The tattoos that come out of this shop are easily the best around. I got my first tattoo here, yesterday. The space has a pretty cool vibe, and the people working there were really nice. I got a simple Roman numeral tattoo on my shoulder. They charged $120 for it. That seems a little steep but that's what you get for a shop downtown. The artists name was Derek. He was really nice and did a great job. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of the price. My friend and I were visiting Nashville and (drunkenly, the night before) decided to get a touristy tattoo. So the next day we woke up and set sail for Gold Club Electric Tattoo. We knew perfectly well we'd look like the hugest assholes asking for a cowboy boot tattoo, but fuck it, because vacation. The guys at the shop were totally cool and didn't make fun of us, ha. I really wanted to get in on a Saturday since I had family in town that wanted to get tatted with me (for the first time!!) & after calling around to many other shops I wasn't feeling very hopeful about getting in anywhere. We were referred to Gold Club Electric and all 3 of us were able to get in immediately! (We got there right when they opened, it filled up VERY fast). Ricky was AMAZING working with us, drawing & redrawing our designs to get it just right. We were all a little nervous getting tattooed for the first time so when he was about to start on mine he put on Backstreet Boys "I want it that way" and by the end of the song my tattoo was finished!! I even decided last minute to get a 2nd tattoo & he whipped up the stencil & design in a jiffy.
