Made an appointment and realized the next day I would be going out of town due to work for a large extended period of time. The cancellation policy reads: "Our Cancellation Policy We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 48 hours before the beginning of your appointment or you will lose your deposit, and will need to place another one for future transactions. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 2 days before the beginning of your appointment or you may be charged a cancellation fee of $100." I cancelled my appointment 6 days in advance, well past the 48 hours necessary. When I reached out I have been told this deposit is non-refundable. No where in the policy does it state this. This probably won't happen to everyone but it happened to me. I started a major project at Electric Hand and everything was great at first. But then around half the times my artist would not show up for appointments without any notice, not seeming to care I had taken time off work. The other half of the time I could tell very little effort had gone into the artwork. My ideas were only vaguely incorporated and the artist refused to show me the designs before the scheduled sessions. I felt very uninvolved in the process. Eventually the artist stopped responding altogether. No one from the shop contacted me for rescheduling. After repeated, increasingly frenetic but unanswered messages, Electric Hand banned me from the shop for "weirding them out". I now have a piece 60% complete and no way to match it because the artist refused to give me the templates used. I give two stars because the actual work was very good. However, for customer service, reliability and satisfaction, EH gets the most negative stars allowed by Yelp. Read Less

After a lot of debating, I set my sights on Sheri at Electric Hand for a memorial tattoo I had in mind. All I had were some symbols, but no real idea of what I wanted. We talked for a bit at a consultation, narrowing down my many ideas into just one. I expected to have a good wait before my actual appointment, but things fell into place and she ended up able to tattoo me the same day! I could not be happier with what she drew and ultimately tattooed on me. It's the first co...lor tattoo that I've gotten, and it's beautiful. I think my mom would have really liked it. If anyone asks where I got my work done, I'll be singing her praises to anyone who wants to know. I went in on August 10th this year to get my first tattoo with my brother and fiancé. The artist that did my work was Derick. He did a great job of making me feel comfortable and he drew up a sketch of what I wanted in just a few minutes. I was impressed at how quickly and accurately he was able to design the tattoo and adjust it to be the right size for the placement. While actually getting the tattoo, Derrick let me know that I could stop at any time if I was feeling uncomfortable or sick. It didn't hurt as much as I expected and I already started thinking about getting another one! The parlor itself was very clean. Everything was very sanitary and it seems like they care about cleanliness a lot. Derrick always changed into clean gloves after touching anything that wasn't my arm or the tattoo equipment. Now that it's been a few days, my tattoo is healing well and looking great! Derrick did exactly what I wanted and kept it within my price range. The whole experience, from when I walked in to when I left, was about 2 hours. I would highly recommend getting work done here! Read Less

These are the sweetest men in the whole world. 4 of my sisters and I went to get tattoos this weekend and they were so kind and I appreciate their witty banter. Kenny Ray did a small, simple tattoo for me, but could not have described as anything other than as gentle as a hummingbird....I told him I would write that in the review ;) Dan tattooed some of my sisters and they have similarly wonderful things to say about him! Superlative work at reasonable prices!  My experience is limited to Tu Le and Tai Orten, but both are top-notch artists.  I had a particular design in mind, but lack the artistic ability to put it to paper.  I went to Tai and described what I wanted, and she drew out and applied exactly what I wanted.  My daughter has gotten several tattoos from Tu, and she has been ecstatic over every one.  Appointments not required, but strongly preferred. I love this shop!  I've worked with Jason and he is such a talented and professional artist.  We just wrapped up a custom cover and he wasn't intimidated by my request.   He is so versatile and created a really beautiful piece for me.  He's worked on other things for me, and although they're a little more 'stock' they're beautiful, quality tattoos.  I would pay a premium, but the price is really quite reasonable for something that'll be on your body forever!Easy going, no pretense.... just great tattooing. I'm a following customer of Jason's BUT I've seen plenty of other stuff done by the other dudes and there's not a one that I would steer anyone away from..Just like any place it is easier to go into a tattoo parlor with idea in hand because a lot of times the artists don't know you and can't really read your mind when you just kind of halfway explain what you want BUT just like any a**hole customer I do this all the time ( come in with barely an idea ) and they manage to get my idea out on a piece of paper.Anyways, Every single artist in the WORLD has their own style and I think this place has very evenly dispersed talent in certain areas...  One is better at portraits than one is at comic book style like one is best at sailer jerry type crap.   Just look at their portfolios they've got set up and even just ask one of them who would be the best at something in particular......  they are all pretty good friends and aren't in the 'every man for himself' type of work environment so they'll truthfully steer you to who you need to see.And about pricing..   Remember..  You're getting something thats going to be there FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE...and even a transmission that costs $3000 to fix doesn't last that long so quit being so cheap!
