Probably the last place on earth you should get a piercing from. Had to get a lip piercing cut out of my lip that got empacted during the healing process because their piercier did not use a post that was long enough and had a wide enough back. Also did not even give me the option of using a ring, which would have made it near impossible for it to get empacted. Don't waste your time or money at a place that should not be doing piercings. I hate trying out new shops/artists but the owner of the shop completely amazed me in the work of art he did on me. He did me and my father matching tattoos and they turned out absolutely amazing. This shop is legit! I live in Salt Lake City, and was working in Knoxville for 10 days & I had @vudu_tattooer at Synergy complete 2 amazing tattoos during my stay.This shop is welcoming, mellow, comfortable.  And Vudu is beyond talented, with crazy attention to detail. He turned what I had in my mind into a tattoo 100 times better than expected! There's many tattoo joints in Knoxville, don't even waste you're time, I did the research already, and Synergy has the goods. Ask for VuDu, but all the other artists & piercer's are as professional as you can get.I'm heading back to Utah with some killer, memorable art work on my body that I'll never forget! Today I got a tattoo for the first time ever, and I definitely picked the best place to go. I had to wait a little bit because I didn't have an appointment or anything, but once I got served everything went exceptionally well. I had Jake, and I would definitely recommend him for anyone else too. We talked through my design thoroughly, he fixed it up exactly how I wanted it, and made sure it was the size and position that I wanted. It went excellently. He's also very good with people who haven't done it before, as we talked through the whole thing before and while it was happening. I wasn't nervous, but Jake made sure I never started to feel that way. As well, he was very thorough in explaining how to care for the tattoo after I left the shop. Overall I would recommend this shop to anyone from a first timer to someone getting their hundredth tattoo. A++! Read Less

Didn't have a great experience here and I don't recommend it to my friends. At least not with the artist I had. I had Christopher at the Kingston Pike location. Now don't get me wrong he was nice, but very unprofessional and didn't do good line work on my tattoos. He forgot my tattoo appointment and when I went in to see him, he was tattooing someone else. He double booked my time. So he forgot my appointment, made me wait and cant tattoo a straight line. I will say that the store had a 100 on health score so that was a plus. Read Less

Absolutely great service and work. My wife and I went in last week to get finger tattoos/shoulder piece for me and were so impressed with the quality of the artist and the establishment as a whole. We set the appointment the day before and were greeted promptly and helpfully. Mike Contessa was our artist and he is the studio's hand tattoo specialist. He was very quick in drawing up our stencils and gave us everything we asked for promptly and professionally. I was in the chair for just over two hours and Mike made great conversation and helped me stay comfortable throughout. Not only was he great for me but he was very polite and respectful to my wife as well. We are both happy with his work and plan to go back soon! I had mentioned to Bean a couple of years ago that I had a tattoo the years (& children) had been less than kind to. He told me to come see him and he could take care of it. It took me a while but I was finally in a place to get it fixed. I was going to Bean because I knew him but I hadn't actually checked out his work. I took the time to get on Synergy's Facebook page and check out the pictures. I was absolutely blown away. Bean is freakin amazing at what he does. He is an artist in the truest sense of the word. I had seen other cover ups that didn't exactly cover up the old tattoo. Not the case with Bean so I knew I was in good hands. I went in Monday night after chatting with him about what I was looking for and emailing some pictures. He drew exactly what I wanted in the perfect size.      Having been almost 19 years since my original piece, I couldn't remember exactly what to expect but it was better than I could have remembered. Sure, a tattoo is going to be uncomfortable or even painful at times but Bean made it a breeze. I had the option of watching a movie or listening to music during the process and was suitably distracted.     I could not be more pleased with my experience at Synergy. Everyone I have ever come in contact with is friendly, helpful and laid back. They really listen to your ideas and make them happen. The best part? My tattoo looks AMAZING! For a momentarily transplanted Washingtonian, Knoxville, TN, can hold little hope of being dazzling or engaging or really even more than mildly interesting. Although the city has it's hot spots and certainly character, for some reason, I didn't have much faith in the offerings for anyone interested in activities of the alternative culture. This day, namely, tattoos. Being the continually poor influence that I am, I took my biblically-inclined twin sister's feeble hinting for action. We got directly into the car and set out in search of quality ink... Displaced or not, I of course pulled out my always-trusty Yelp app and located the best option. Synergy Tattoo on Kingston Pike. Okay, Knoxville, let's see what you got... We arrived and as I walked my prolifically tattooed self into the shop, I was immediately pleased with the atmosphere and decoration. The shop was cool colors and tasteful art prints - as opposed to the wall-to-wall flash typical of other shops. Totally welcome change! The front featured an actual sitting area with books of the artist's work available for perusing while you wait, comfy leather couches, and the friendliest staff I've ever encountered in this type of place. In addition to the creature comforts, the work was excellent. For me, more than the quality of the work, it was refreshing for the artist to just sit and listen to exactly what we wanted before trying to jump in and change it. Often, I've discovered that in their efforts to be helpful, some artists come across as being a bit belittling of the original idea. Here, we got exactly what we wanted. Exactly. For the interested Knoxvillian, or another displaced soul such as myself, I cannot recommend this shop highly enough. Went to synergy with picture of the tatoo I wanted, it was a christian tatoo. Bean said he was able to do it. I must say he nailed it. It was a two session tatoo and the integrity of the workmanship blowed me away. Spot on. I have gotten two tats by jerry bean and i must say won't let anybody else but bean do my tatoos. I just got a quote going down the length of my ribs at synergy last week by Bean and I must say he must have the steadiest hand ever because him and another artist (the girl with nthe huge rack) had me laughing the whole time!!! These people are hilarious and I completely expected my tattoo to be jacked up because of all the moving around laughing I was doing but its actually healing better than any tattoo I've got and does not appear it will even need to be touched up. I was also impressed by how clean the shop was. Several artists stopped by to check out the work and say hey. Very funny, friendly people. Also very talented. I love the atmosphere at Synergy. I went into Synergy to get my first tattoo and had no idea what I wanted. I had been a few other places that basically told me to come back with a picture of what I wanted but the girl at the front desk in Synergy was very helpful and even discouraged me from choosing from the pictures of tattoos available. She looked up several images on the internet and asked what I liked or didn't like about them. After telling her I was a music teacher she found several related images and had an artist draw me up a custom tattoo with music notes. I LOVE IT!!! The tattoo is perfect and the help appreciated!
