After years of working for others, and a struggle to go into business with a former partner, Will Bledsoe opened up Battleground Tattoo Parlour and named it for his love of history and the conflict that brought it to life. The shop that was once just an idea now employs three of Franklin's most skilled artists, and turns out some of the best ink and piercings in the industry. We live and die by our custom work, and staying committed to our vision, we'll turn down work we're not inspired by. We fought to get here, and we'll do what it takes to protect our art and do right by the clients who trust us.

So I went here for my first tattoo. Showed the guy what I wanted, a very very simple and small tattoo, and he showed no reaction or enthusiasm whatsoever but just said "Ok." Then I showed him where and he made a very displeased face and said, "....ok" nearly rolling his eyes. He then told me it was a $100 shop minimum, then about 10 minutes later another lady came out of another room with one of the other artists who had just done her tattoo told her it was a $75 minimum. I don't know if it's based on which artist does it or if Bryan flat out lied to me, but I'm a people pleaser and a chump and paid it anyways because I've been waiting years to finally get a tattoo. It literally took him 10 minutes to do the tattoo. I like the tattoo, but feel like he did the absolute bare minimum to get my money and was highly unenthusiastic to have my business.A family member went to the neighboring tattoo parlour the next day and was told they get a lot of complaints about Battleground Tattoo Parlour. She also got a tattoo about 3x the size of mine and for cheaper. I think my first tattoo experience could have been a lot better, money-wise and experience-wise.I don't like to assume the worst in people, but I think I would've been right to trust my gut here and should've waited to go somewhere else.

I’ve been to 3 other tattoo parlors while getting tattoos. All in different areas from Chattanooga, Miami, and another local tattoo shop in Franklin.
Battleground tattoo has set the new standard for me. The Shop was welcoming from the start. From the initial phone call, initial visit, getting my actual tattoo, and advising me on future tattoos and how to help the healing process.
My impression from my overall experience is that they take pride in not only their work but how to help you choose what works and what doesn’t as far as aesthetics goes. They helped me make some decisions that turned out working for the best and I love my new tattoos (I got two at battleground on the same visit).
I can’t say I’ve been more excited about these tattoos.
I plan on getting the rest of my tattoo work done at Battleground and have no thought about going anywhere else! If you have any other places in mind I’d recommend you go to Battleground because you will be treated very well and will be told their honest opinion rather than just doing the work because your paying them money. They will advise what will work best.
Nick Mella was my artist and he was a rockstar and is super talented as well as super helpful.
Thanks Battleground for the great experience and thanks Nick for all you did ! Can’t thank you guys enough !

Huge mistake, he cancelled an hour before my appointment because of a death in the family. I wasn't upset, I completely understood. I went to golden yeti instead (best service ever) but when I went back to get my deposit the front desk woman said he's not here and we don't know when he will be back. So I come back on a Saturday and he still wasn't there, I left a note with my info and everything to ensure when he got back he called. I wait a few weeks and return back to get my deposit. I told the front desk I'm here to get my deposit back.. Paul walked up and asked who it was with and I said you. Paul asked when my appointment was and I told him, he said well that was weeks ago, laughed IN MY FACE and said it's gone now. Most UNPROFESSIONAL place I've ever stepped foot in. I will never be back and if anyone's asks about this place I will rage on how badly I was treated. My mother also went to try and get it back, Paul screamed, cussed, and refused to give the deposit back after HE cancelled on me. Paul just cost this place a lot of customers.

I was very disappointed today when I went into my appointment and was told that it wasn't today It was next week. I said nope it's today I've been waiting. The artist was Paul that I was supposed to have a session with. He was at the desk and said wait it's next week. I repeated myself and pulled out card with dates on it. The vibe immediately changed and you could tell he wasn't happy about it. So I sit down and have patience he comes around the corner again no sorry, no introducing himself, no care for me the customer and says "just so you know I'm running an hou behind". I get we all make mistakes and I could have handled that but when I feel like I am a bother to someone that I'm coming to for something special and they don't acknowledge that I was done. I left and called the store to cancel I told her I didn't have time to wait since it's gonna be an hour. She said it's not gonna be an hour your appointment is at 5:30. I said No it was at 5 and Paul told me he was an hour behind.I cancelled my appointment and I went to Lonestar Jake Snoddy and Devin Kent took amazing care of me! Please get your books organized and if you make a mistake it's ok just admit it!

Took my daughter to Battleground to get her cartilage pierced... our first impression was how clean this shop was and then we were greeted immediately by Shelly!! By the time we walked out, both of my daughters and I, had gotten a piercing! We had a great time with Shelly, she was professional but totally fun and we loved her!! Very highly recommend, and we did, as my daughter's BFF went in the next day to see Shelly! A couple of weeks later, my daughter's back came off and once again, Shelly got us in right away and took care of us! Would definitely recommend- friendly and helpful and took a lot of time with us!

It totally killed my confidence and I was scared to go to my appointment but thank God I did because Jacob over at lone wolf tattoo made me feel so safe did a killer job and was the best artist and shop atsmophere I've ever been in. When you walk into battleground, you can feel the negative energy. I wouldn't trust them to put permanent work on my body. You shouldn't need to talk crap about other places to gain business. I too am an artist in a different profession and I'm friends with my other local artists. I don't talk crap about them. This shop lost my potential business for life and I'm damn sure set on making it known how unprofessional they are.

I am SO happy with my experience at Battleground Tattoo Parlour. It was a complete 180 from other experiences I have had. I came in for a cover-up of an ill planned tattoo I received at another spot and I could not be happier with the end result. Lew Hands did my tattoo and he was very personable, patient, and kind (this is SUPER important when the person will be poking you repeatedly with a needle!). He hand drew on my design and was patient when I asked for changes after the fact. He was also a bit of a perfectionist and wanted the drawing to be perfect. This is a really great trait in someone permanently inking you. He also played really mellow music in his room, which helped a lot. I have been to other shops where they blast really heavy music. There is nothing wrong with metal, but when I am already a bit nervous I prefer something a little more soothing. Overall, this was one of my best tattoo experiences and I will be back. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I was able to speak with Paul for a bit before my appt and he was super funny, nice, and helped calmed my nerves. All in all this place is amazing (although I hate to tell everyone that because it will be harder for me to get an appt!).

I knew I had to find the PERFECT person for this. Will is super professional (and I've dealt with some pretty shady artists in the past) and low key. I hadn't hard any art done in almost 6 years, so I pretty much had forgotten the feeling of needle on skin. I know placement of my tattoo is a pretty tender area, and I was a bit anxious. Outline was really not that bad!!! I'm super stoked to keep working with Will and finish this bad boy!

I can't say enough good things about the people at Battleground Tattoo Parlour. Will was my tattoo artist, whom was awesome, but all the employees there were super great. A very clean and professional establishment. Will is an excellent tattoo artist who really took the time (I'm a tattoo newbie) on walking me through my options and making sure I had the best tattoo for me. I'd highly recommend Battleground to get your next tattoo, regardless if your like me and new to tattoos, or an experience tattoo connoisseur. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Will did a great job of making me feel comfortable and explaining everything to me. I'm definitely coming back here for my next one. I don't have any swelling and feel very happy with it! I connected w Will and Paul and they were able to get me in for an appt. Paul was my artist and I could not be happier w the Vegvisir (Norse compass) he did for me. It was awesome to talk w both guys before settling on the exact design. Will is highly knowledgable in Norse beliefs, history and symbolism. Gave me even more confidence in my choice. Shop was clean. Price was beyond fair. Great artists who are talented and friendly. Happy to say I've found my go to place now.

My husband and I have got a total of 6 tattoos done by Will. This time I even brought my mom for her first tattoo and Will was fantastic! I cannot say enough good things about him. He squeezed us in while we were in town before moving, he even came in on his day off to get my husband in before we moved to Germany! He is so professional and welcoming and a n amazing artist! I have a tattoo done by someone else and the quality is nothing compared to Will's work. I highly recommend coming here for anything! The shop is also very welcoming. It does not have that typical tattoo parlor feel to it. It is very homey and inviting. It fits perfectly into the area!

So I went here for my first tattoo. Showed the guy what I wanted, a very very simple and small tattoo, and he showed no reaction or enthusiasm whatsoever but just said "Ok." Then I showed him where and he made a very displeased face and said, "....ok" nearly rolling his eyes. He then told me it was a $100 shop minimum, then about 10 minutes later another lady came out of another room with one of the other artists who had just done her tattoo told her it was a $75 minimum. I don't know if it's based on which artist does it or if Bryan flat out lied to me, but I'm a people pleaser and a chump and paid it anyways because I've been waiting years to finally get a tattoo. It literally took him 10 minutes to do the tattoo. I like the tattoo, but feel like he did the absolute bare minimum to get my money and was highly unenthusiastic to have my business.A family member went to the neighboring tattoo parlour the next day and was told they get a lot of complaints about Battleground Tattoo Parlour. She also got a tattoo about 3x the size of mine and for cheaper. I think my first tattoo experience could have been a lot better, money-wise and experience-wise.I don't like to assume the worst in people, but I think I would've been right to trust my gut here and should've waited to go somewhere else.

I’ve been to 3 other tattoo parlors while getting tattoos. All in different areas from Chattanooga, Miami, and another local tattoo shop in Franklin.
Battleground tattoo has set the new standard for me. The Shop was welcoming from the start. From the initial phone call, initial visit, getting my actual tattoo, and advising me on future tattoos and how to help the healing process.
My impression from my overall experience is that they take pride in not only their work but how to help you choose what works and what doesn’t as far as aesthetics goes. They helped me make some decisions that turned out working for the best and I love my new tattoos (I got two at battleground on the same visit).
I can’t say I’ve been more excited about these tattoos.
I plan on getting the rest of my tattoo work done at Battleground and have no thought about going anywhere else! If you have any other places in mind I’d recommend you go to Battleground because you will be treated very well and will be told their honest opinion rather than just doing the work because your paying them money. They will advise what will work best.
Nick Mella was my artist and he was a rockstar and is super talented as well as super helpful.

I made an appointment in April to get my tattoo. Originally I chose Will but he was booked weeks out, so I chose Paul instead. Huge mistake, he cancelled an hour before my appointment because of a death in the family. I wasn't upset, I completely understood. I went to golden yeti instead (best service ever) but when I went back to get my deposit the front desk woman said he's not here and we don't know when he will be back. So I come back on a Saturday and he still wasn't there, I left a note with my info and everything to ensure when he got back he called. I wait a few weeks and return back to get my deposit. I told the front desk I'm here to get my deposit back.. Paul walked up and asked who it was with and I said you. Paul asked when my appointment was and I told him, he said well that was weeks ago, laughed IN MY FACE and said it's gone now. Most UNPROFESSIONAL place I've ever stepped foot in. I will never be back and if anyone's asks about this place I will rage on how badly I was treated. My mother also went to try and get it back, Paul screamed, cussed, and refused to give the deposit back after HE cancelled on me. Paul just cost this place a lot of customers.

I was very disappointed today when I went into my appointment and was told that it wasn't today It was next week. I said nope it's today I've been waiting. The artist was Paul that I was supposed to have a session with. He was at the desk and said wait it's next week. I repeated myself and pulled out card with dates on it. The vibe immediately changed and you could tell he wasn't happy about it. So I sit down and have patience he comes around the corner again no sorry, no introducing himself, no care for me the customer and says "just so you know I'm running an hou behind". I get we all make mistakes and I could have handled that but when I feel like I am a bother to someone that I'm coming to for something special and they don't acknowledge that I was done. I left and called the store to cancel I told her I didn't have time to wait since it's gonna be an hour. She said it's not gonna be an hour your appointment is at 5:30. I said No it was at 5 and Paul told me he was an hour behind.I cancelled my appointment and I went to Lonestar Jake Snoddy and Devin Kent took amazing care of me! Please get your books organized and if you make a mistake it's ok just admit it!

Took my daughter to Battleground to get her cartilage pierced... our first impression was how clean this shop was and then we were greeted immediately by Shelly!! By the time we walked out, both of my daughters and I, had gotten a piercing! We had a great time with Shelly, she was professional but totally fun and we loved her!! Very highly recommend, and we did, as my daughter's BFF went in the next day to see Shelly! A couple of weeks later, my daughter's back came off and once again, Shelly got us in right away and took care of us! Would definitely recommend- friendly and helpful and took a lot of time with us!

I walked into this shop by mistake looking for lone wolf tattoo and a girl snickered and said "trust me, you would much rather get your tattoo done here than there" and then laughed and walked away without any other explanation. It totally killed my confidence and I was scared to go to my appointment but thank God I did because Jacob over at lone wolf tattoo made me feel so safe did a killer job and was the best artist and shop atsmophere I've ever been in. When you walk into battleground, you can feel the negative energy. I wouldn't trust them to put permanent work on my body. You shouldn't need to talk crap about other places to gain business. I too am an artist in a different profession and I'm friends with my other local artists. I don't talk crap about them. This shop lost my potential business for life and I'm damn sure set on making it known how unprofessional they are.

They are all very nice and make you feel at ease even when you are anxious (as I always am before a tattoo even with several under my belt now). I am SO happy with my experience at Battleground Tattoo Parlour. It was a complete 180 from other experiences I have had. I came in for a cover-up of an ill planned tattoo I received at another spot and I could not be happier with the end result. Lew Hands did my tattoo and he was very personable, patient, and kind (this is SUPER important when the person will be poking you repeatedly with a needle!). He hand drew on my design and was patient when I asked for changes after the fact. He was also a bit of a perfectionist and wanted the drawing to be perfect. This is a really great trait in someone permanently inking you. He also played really mellow music in his room, which helped a lot. I have been to other shops where they blast really heavy music. There is nothing wrong with metal, but when I am already a bit nervous I prefer something a little more soothing. Overall, this was one of my best tattoo experiences and I will be back. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I was able to speak with Paul for a bit before my appt and he was super funny, nice, and helped calmed my nerves. All in all this place is amazing (although I hate to tell everyone that because it will be harder for me to get an appt!).

I knew I had to find the PERFECT person for this. Will is super professional (and I've dealt with some pretty shady artists in the past) and low key. I hadn't hard any art done in almost 6 years, so I pretty much had forgotten the feeling of needle on skin. I know placement of my tattoo is a pretty tender area, and I was a bit anxious. Outline was really not that bad!!! I'm super stoked to keep working with Will and finish this bad boy!

I can't say enough good things about the people at Battleground Tattoo Parlour. Will was my tattoo artist, whom was awesome, but all the employees there were super great. A very clean and professional establishment. Will is an excellent tattoo artist who really took the time (I'm a tattoo newbie) on walking me through my options and making sure I had the best tattoo for me. I'd highly recommend Battleground to get your next tattoo, regardless if your like me and new to tattoos, or an experience tattoo connoisseur. I promise you won't be disappointed.

They really treated us with the upmost care and respect. The entire experience was just so perfect. The parlour is super clean and we were made to feel so welcomed there. I had a great experience at this shop! It was my first tattoo and I was extremely nervous. But the cleanliness of the shop and professionalism of the staff made me feel more comfortable. Will did a great job of making me feel comfortable and explaining everything to me. I'm definitely coming back here for my next one. I don't have any swelling and feel very happy with it! In Nashville area for work. Had researched tattoo shops in the area thinking it was time for my next one. Fortune was on my side. I connected w Will and Paul and they were able to get me in for an appt. Paul was my artist and I could not be happier w the Vegvisir (Norse compass) he did for me. It was awesome to talk w both guys before settling on the exact design. Will is highly knowledgable in Norse beliefs, history and symbolism. Gave me even more confidence in my choice. Shop was clean. Price was beyond fair. Great artists who are talented and friendly. Happy to say I've found my go to place now.

My husband and I have got a total of 6 tattoos done by Will. This time I even brought my mom for her first tattoo and Will was fantastic! I cannot say enough good things about him. He squeezed us in while we were in town before moving, he even came in on his day off to get my husband in before we moved to Germany! He is so professional and welcoming and a n amazing artist! I have a tattoo done by someone else and the quality is nothing compared to Will's work. I highly recommend coming here for anything! The shop is also very welcoming. It does not have that typical tattoo parlor feel to it. It is very homey and inviting. It fits perfectly into the area!
