Went in asking about a touch up/ cover up and riff raff was a complete dick had nothing but negative things to say told me that he would not touch my tattoo and just overall a horrible experience, with him.. Tattoo artist was knowledgeable but condescending and callous. Very critical of other tattoos I had gotten other places, which, by my standards are very good quality and have always been admired by others. Took over 90 minutes to begin the appointment, and took 4 hrs to do a small-medium size piece, which is not unheard of, just he took seemingly long smoke breaks pretty frequently. I can understand a break or two on a large piece, but this seemed excessive in this case. Also proceeded to hit on me during, which I understand he probably meant no ill will, and you gotta meet people somehow, but it's not the most professional thing you can do. He did good work, brought great input into the art, so I can't give a bad review. I don't mean to attack the guy, but his tableside manner is just brash as hell. Personally, I won't return. My initial experience for Microblading went smoothly, I had no trouble setting up an appointment. When it was time to schedule the complimentary 6 week touch-up, I conveniently could not get in touch. Both my calls and texts went unreturned. I live 4 hours away from Charolette and I was in town for New Years Weekend. Her Instagram posts said she was taking appointments and walk-ins, but of course she was "booked" when it came to my service. I let the first time go. Three weeks later, I decide to schedule an appointment via her online scheduler since my calls and texts were still not being returned. I get to my appointment today, January 20th at 2:00PM, and nobody is at the shop! On my second call, she finally answers and says the appointment didn't show up on her end and she was out of town for the weekend. Interesting, you would think that if you were really out of town you wouldn't have your online scheduler accepting appointments? I hate to write a bad review, but if someone is willing to drive 4 hours for your services you could at least try to be a little accommodating. I can guarantee if I were getting a tattoo and not my 6-week touch up that is complimentary (even though you actually pay for it in the original price) she would have worked me in. Got all of my tattoos done here by sarge. He's awesome and does great work. The environment is extremely relaxed and very sanitary. All of the artist have their own style and they will help you come up with the very best tattoo you've been wanting. The tattoos are affordable and well worth the time. I've had the artist stay past open hours just to finish the tattoo and they had no issue in doing so. I highly recommend black kat to anyone that's wanting a tattoo no matter how detailed or simple. I went to Black Kat for the Friday the 13th tattoo special. As expected I waited 5 hours, no big deal. Staff remained relatively friendly the whole time. Riff Raff did my tattoo, the work he did was great. However, when I asked him to shade it in more he began to get an attitude with me. Proceeding to say that it looked better the way he did it. Then he decided he was going to shade it completely, after he started doing so he then decided to ask me if that was okay. Black Kat Tattoo ruined my life...I knew the place was trouble as soon as I walked in, just from the beard-to-face ratio alone. Everyone in there looks like some beastly combination of Viking Lumberjack. Except of course for the two female apprentices who I would assume were only there to soften the place up, if it weren't for their own original and creative artistic stylings. Marcus McQuillan and Matt Monroe... these two have more years tattooing than I have been alive. Just who do these guys think they are??? With all their experience and whatnot? Not to mention their numerous awards and amazing traditional style that would make Sailor Jerry himself shed tears of joy. Jeez. Enough already. Now to the head honcho himself... Steve "Riff Raff" Cherry. With his cherubic face and head full of angelic curls, what better name would suit him than Riff Raff? None. Not only is this guy a great tattooer, working with, and in my opinion overshadowing some of Clarksville's best, but he's also a super chill and fun-loving person. What a dick. I first walked into the shop in March for a simple dolphin tattoo on my ankle, and here I am more than six months later with most of my limbs now covered in what I could only call beautiful masterpieces of body artistry. Lines as thick and black as... well, let's just say they're thick and black. And colors as bright and vibrant as a unicorn running in slow motion across a sunset in outer space. I can no longer go out in public wearing shorts and a t-shirt without garnering looks and awes from the general public. The elderly cower in fear. Parents hide their children behind them. Young ladies' panties instantly fall to the ground. Dogs bark. Cats meow. I can't even begin to describe how difficult it is to live in this state of perpetual wonder and admiration. But I can't stop. If anybody else wants their lives ruined by incredibly astonishing tattooers giving amazingly aesthetic and fairly priced tattoos, then Black Kat Tattoo is where you want to go, because they will ruin your life. I went in and made an appointment with marcus and when it came time for my appointment he was not there. said he forgot about the appointment and would make it up by giving me a good deal. his "good deal" was a not so good tattoo and I found out he over priced it.
