Took my nine-year-old daughter in to get her ears pierced and was totally pleased with the entire experience. Amber did the piercing and she was so patient, laid back, and knowledgeable (answering all questions with ease). She was really good with kids too, which was a huge plus since we brought the whole family. Piercing hours are 7:30pm to midnight. The price is $35 per person, $10 for the aftercare spray if you want. My sisters and I got our helix pierced there. We had to wait for a little while to get an upper lip piercing done, but there was good music and pleasant people to talk to while we waited. The staff was clean, well-groomed and polite. The shop itself is in an awkward place to visit but there is parking out back. I was extremely impressed with this tattoo shop. I came in with high expectations, and even those were exceeded. The place was clean, the staff was super nice, and the decor was pretty rad as well. I saw Shelly for my very first tattoo last night, and the experience was unparallelled. She took a good while drawing up my design and making sure that the details were up to par for both her and myself. After cleaning up, actually getting the tattoo was a breeze. She was light handed and had me almost nodding off while I was getting tattooed. I drove about 40 mins to here and the guy changed the price after I done asked him 4 times on the phone and what was crazy he started getting mad because I kept asking how much it would be and when I got there they was rude as ever about it and wouldnt work with me so I walked out and called ink expressions and they said come on so I would definitely recommend Ink Expressions over in East Ridge to anyone... they will work something out with you. Ben (guest artist) did a satisfactory job on my piece but his attitude was horrendous and assholish. He belittled my wife for throwing trash in an unmarked, white trash can with the lid up. Later found out it was bio, which is cool but acting like an asshole to my wife over it was uncool. Lucky for him, kept my cool. Bio goes in MARKED, RED cans. If you don't want the health department clamping on you or your customers throwing trash in your bio cans, make sure you follow their procedures. It's all good. I got tattooed by Jack Pendergrass and he was great. He knew it was my first tattoo so he showed me how a shop should be sterile and the procedure to prevent health risks and even showed me how the gun felt without ink first so I knew before hand. He worked with my design and did a great job. Great shop and great artists. They really care about customer satisfaction and being an ethical business. I have been a customer of Standard Ink's for over 6 years, and I have been tattooed by most artists there, as well as gotten work from most of thepiercers. They have the cleanest and most comfortable environment of any shop I have visited, in Chatt-Town or anywhere else! I always tell friends and co-workers who are looking for awesome body art services to visit this shop! The staff is always willing and able to answer any questions a 'first-timer' may have. Also, when I asked they showed me their sterile room and health department scores(They have 100's for as far back as i could tell!) The shop is now under new ownership, now owned by the piercer who has pierced their for as long as I remember. I would ONLY recommend this shop to anyone. Visited Chattanooga and wanted to add to my collection of tattoos on my back. I called and made an appointment 2 days in advance. After I was on the schedule, Upon arrival, I was told Appointments were not allowed on weekends and a bunch of Attitude.The shop was not busy, so I asked if I could get in and was told there was a 3 hour wait. I love this place! They're very careful about the safety and hygiene of their customers, and the artists are truly artists. They are knowledgeable and don't try to force designs on you that you don't like. They'll encourage you to think it over if you're not sure, and help you make wise choices if you are sure.
