Would have given them 0 stars...My son and I got our tatoo here. They were not busy. I've had plenty of tatoo work done and kinda knew what to expect. He got started all was fine then i kept feeling him repeatedly kept going over the same spot not to mention this was by far the most painful of all i have ever had. Got home did everything we were supposed to do to let it heal. The middle that he kept going over was a big hole. It took two months to heal after it did most of the color was gone and the other all ran together. You can't even tell what it is. Would not suggest this place. Pay for a professional not a closet tatoo artist. Read Less

I messaged the parlor on their Facebook website and asked if I could discuss the price for a tattoo I wanted to get explaining that I was comparing price around town. I received a message back saying that the store doesn’t do cheap tattoos and that they “don’t need people to be searching for a bargain”. They didn’t even bother to ask what it was I wanted to get. Artistic ink is so professional. I've been pierced by the man and the lady there and they were both very friendly and reassuring. I got my belly button pierced by the man which turned out great and my industrial done by the lady there. {Tattoo shop: yes, piercing studio: no} I got 2 of my tattoos (one color and one black and white) done here by Lance. Lance is an amazing artist and is super willing to work with you to make the best possible design-- I totally recommend seeing him. He is professional and very nice, and the shop itself is clean. Of all the tattoos I've gotten, my experiences with Lance at Artistic Ink have been they best. I got a piercing there, though, and that experience wasn't as great. The guy who did it was kind of rude and it was pretty expensive for what it was. Overall, though, I'd still recommend their tattoo shop, just maybe not the piercing studio. Read Less

I used to go to Painted Pony in Anderson to get all of my piercings. So, Thursday I went to get my tongue pierced. The lady that normally does my piercings wasn't there, and it was this man instead (he didn't give me his name.) I told him what I wanted done, I signed papers and went to sit down in the chair ready to get pierced. However, while i was signing papers this lady walked in to get her nipples pierced and he declined her because she was a woman. When she left he said... "I don't want to open a door to a lawsuit" just because she was a woman. Anyway, he got clamps on my tongue and moved my tongue around to see if I had any veins. Then, he put those clamps down and got new clamps. He said those clamps were the wrong ones. The process goes on, and he pierced my tongue. (He got the needle stick stuck in the middle which was awfully painful on me, and he kept struggling to slide the needle in) After he got finshed screwing the balls on he told me he gave me the shortest bar he could. (I'm aware it needs to be a large bar because of the swelling. I didn't say anything about it, I was just ready to leave, but now I wish I would have spoke up.) I'm not so sure he was even licensed to pierce. Anyway, I woke up this morning to my tongue being so swollen that both balls at the end of the bar has sucken into my tongue and to an infection. I am NEVER going to Painted Pony again, the hell with them. Due to it being a Sunday, hardly any piercing shop was open. Artistic Ink was the only place that answered my call. They saved me from so much pain and possibly hospital bills. I got the piercing took out there and had no problems. Even got a hug. I will always go to Artistic Ink from now on. See More Read Less

This place has some of the friendliest staff and talented people that I've ever met. It was kept very, very clean and you could tell that everyone held themselves to high standards. I have had two encounters with the folks at Artistic Ink. The first was three years ago when I got my upper back done by an artist who is no longer there, and the second was today when I accompanied my 30-year-old daughter to get some words scripted on her arm. On both occasions I found the artists to be very serious about their craft and all that surrounds it - the hygiene, the attention to detail when it comes to what the client is trying to achieve, making sure the client understands the process of aftercare, etc. They are also good at putting your mind at ease if you are nervous or apprehensive. They strike a good balance between being professional and being laid back and easy going. Today, Gavin did my daughter's ink, and he was very good from start to finish. At the time of this review, a photo of that session is featured on the main page of yelp for Artistic Ink. The tattoo reads, "Fly high but stay grounded..." (Note: The lettering is wavy at the clients request instead of straight...this is not a mistake on the artist's part)I would definitely recommend this place as a good tattoo joint...it's the real deal and the artists are legit. I've been coming here for years getting piercings and made many referrals. I've always left happy and continued to be a repeat customer. Last night, I decided to get the triple forward helix. My husband and I went together. The first one was painful and I did move. The initial piecing itself was tolerable, but the positioning of the curved ring is what hurts the most. The second one, I did fine and didn't move. Same for the last one, didn't move. The piercer even mentioned the last two aren't as bad as the first given the space. Once he was done, I looked in the mirror and immediately noticed and mentioned that the third one looked out of line with the other two. He said no that it was perfect. I asked my husband what he thought and he did agree with me and said that it wasn't in line with the other two. Then the piercer said it was my fault because I kept moving on that one. That that's what happens when I move. We said our thank you's and left. When I got in the car I asked my husband if I did move on the last piercing because I didn't think that I had and he confirmed that I did not. Only on the first. So I called this morning and spoke with him and indicted that I'm not super happy with the third piercing and what I needed to do to have it redone. He continued to say that it was perfect. I again said that I'd like to have it redone because I do not like the placement. He went on to say that it was my fault that I kept moving and that's what happens when I move. That I shouldn't have kept moving. On and on and on. I had him on speaker so my husband could hear because I was nervous to even call back in the first place. I finally said ok, either way it's pierced and I'm not happy with it what can I do. He said take it out and let it heal a few months. I went on to ask that when I came back to him, to have it redone would there be a charge. He said of course. I said thank you and hung up. Irregardless of who's fault it was, I immediately mentioned that I was not happy with the third piercing; I called back to make him aware of it again. He didn't care, he threw the blame immediately on the customer. I will NEVER be visiting him again. Extremely disappointed in the professionalism and overall work done. Read Less

So I was visiting a friend in SC and decided to get another ear piercing. She suggested this place as she had gotten all of her piercings here in the past and had nothing but positive comments about their service and staff.I have previously had my cartilage pierced in two different places by Claires and the piercing pagoda. Never, ever, again will I ever get a piercing with a gun. Going to a body piercing or tattoo shop is definitely the way to go. Not only did it not hurt or bleed as much as with a gun - but my ear barely hurts now. In the past it would be red, swollen and sore. This is just a little bruised and doesn't hurt at all unless I touch it (to clean it) or smack the phone on my ear (I've accidentally done this more times than I'd like to admit in the day since I've gotten it pierced).The guy who did my piercing was really nice and funny. He kept me relaxed and he was quick, clean and safe. He stopped prepping to help another customer and I visibly watched him put on a different, new, set of gloves which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend going here for piercings. They have a tattoo shop here and in Greenville. I can't comment on those but if the service is as good as the piercing shop I would definitely give it a try! Read Less

I have to disclaim that my brother-in-law is one of the artists at Artistic Ink. Having said that, I'd write this same review if I was just someone off of the street. The artists at this shop are amazing, especially my BIL Todd! Whichever artist you get, Todd, Lance, Terry, Jeremy or Debo, you will NOT be disappointed! They are a bunch of professional artists who take their work very seriously, and it shows. The shop is extremely clean! (that's saying alot for a bunch of guys running it! haha) Anyway, I'd definitely recommend Todd (yeah, I'm partial), but if you're going in, please call for an appointment, since he's usually booked!
