My friends and I drove an hour out and they wouldn’t let my friend get her peircing. We checked the website and called ahead to see if my friends sister (which is her guardian) could sign for her. Once we got all the way down there they told us that she couldn’t sign without legal papers saying she was the guardian. (who would bring legal papers with them on a beach trip??). It was a bit ridiculous that we drove down here expecting a peircing and left with nothing after we reasured that her sister/guardian could sign for her. Waste of gas and waste of our time. Just got my nose stud replaced with a hoop. They were very nice and helpful. Clean shop and he sterilized everything before changing out my jewelry. The first hoop he put in was a little too big so he switched it for a smaller one and let me keep the bigger one too. The prices are a lot cheaper than where I'm from. We waited for about 15 mins (7:45 pm) before the lady behind the counter acknowledged us; only to be told that they stopped piercing at 7:30. Are you freaking serious?? Went to the North Charleston location on a whim after seeing someone with a daith piercing and asked her where did she get it done and did it help with migraines as I’ve suffered for over 20 years. She says yes and told me to come here. I was extremely nervous as the only piercings I’ve ever had were my ears as a kid and those always got infected. Rhys made me so comfortable and put my fears at ease. I had a very negative experience at the North Charleston Exotic Impressions, and can’t recommend it based on my experience. The lady at the front counter was very unprofessional. She was eating an egg McMuffin Sandwich the whole time she was dealing with us and taking our payment and it was kind of gross and unprofessional. Additionally, we were the amongst the first people to come into the store about ten minutes after it opened. A bunch of people then proceeded to come in after us. The lady at the front completely forgot us and was allowing other people to get pierced who had come in after us. When I addressed her about it, she admitted she made a mistake and said we would be next. Then she turned right around and called up another person who had come after us to get pierced. When I asked her about this a second time, she was pretty rude and just blew me off. No apology or anything. We finally did go next, but we ended up waiting about an hour to get pierced when we were one of the first couple of people to arrive. Needless to say, I won’t be back. We went to the North Charleston location and our piercer (can't remember his name) was AMAZING! He let my husband and 9 month old daughter in the room with me and even let my daughter sit with me through the piercing process. He walked me through what he was doing, how to clean my piercing(I got my daith pierced). He even interacted with my daughter. He was absolutely the best! Went in August to get labret piercings done (snakebites) and I love them. Couple days ago (Mid-September), one of the backs of the labret stud became embedded in my lip. Went in and was helped quickly and (nearly) painlessly and they let me know I needed a longer bar which significantly helped the issue. The ONLY problem I have had is when they put the ball on the studs the first time, it seems they were put on too tight or possibly crooked, making it impossible for me to get the balls off on my own. After getting the new bars, same issue. A bit disappointing but overall I would definitely go back for another piercing or 10. Read Less

My cousin and I decided to get our ears pierced on a whim, and apparently in South Carolina tattoo parlors are separate from piercing [parlors?] establishments. Just an FYI if you are an out-of-towner! I've been living here a while now but just never knew. Anywho, we chose this place over that highly rated piercing place in West Ashley mainly due to price, and this place had decent reviews too. So off we go...Overall this is a pretty decent place to get your ears pierced. When we called before hand, we discussed prices, but they made no mention that it was cash only. So when we got there, we immediately had to walk out to go find an ATM. It would have been nice if they had mentioned it in the phone. So we go get cash and come back. The lady at the front was pretty nice, not very chatty, but she did let us see her dermal piercings which were pretty sweet. Signing paperwork was pretty easy, and pricing was fair. I think I paid $40 for two (2nd hole) lobe piercings including paying a little extra for nicer earrings. And of course I added tip to that later, so more than 40 when you add tip. That's a pretty good price. We didn't have to wait since we went at a slow time of day, but as we were leaving the people started filling in. Our gal who did our piercings was professional but not particularly warm or that friendly. She did a very nice job with placing my holes and she did a good job with my cousin's industrial. No mishaps. Smooth sailing. We were in and out of there in less than an hour (including having to go find an ATM). Overall, I had a decent experience at this place, and it was very clean. The moment I walked into the shop I automatically felt welcomed. Everyone was super nice and willing to help. I knew I wanted to get my belly button repierced and my cartilage pierced. I expressed my concerns with my previous piercings with the piercer and right away they explained how they were going to fix the issues so they don't happen again. This shop is truly wonderful. I got my rook pierced here (Rivers Avenue location) about 5 years ago, and I loved it then! Super clean, great staff, am around wonderful. Today, I needed some clear retainers for 3 of my piercings. I messaged them on Facebook and they were super quick to respond to my messages and were very helpful. I got there and they were a little busy, but helped me within 5 minutes of being there. The staff was great, helped me find the exact retainers I needed for my piercings and even put them in for me at a small additional fee. I went to the Rivers Ave location to get my daith pierced. I suffer from migraines and tight it was worth it to try it. Eric greeted my husband and me at the door right away. I was nervous and have a low pain threshold but he put me at ease. He was super nice and funny. He talked and joked with my husband as well. The building was clean and all the piercing tools he used were in sterile bags. He also always wore gloves. The piercing obviously hurt but he was really awesome and super patient. I looked at several piercing parlors in the Charleston area as options for where to get my daith and rook pierced.  I went with Exotic Impressions because the idea of going downtown and fighting with parking makes me need a xanax and Summerville is like driving to Columbia (you know it's true).  I went in during the week and told the piercer what I'd like to have done.  She said that she wasn't experienced with what I wanted (a rook and daith combined) and she suggested coming back on a day the owner was there so he could do it, if he would.  I said ok.  I came back the day she suggested and he fully explained to me why he wasn't comfortable doing the piercing I wanted (which he had done originally) and suggested an alternative idea instead.I respected the fact that the first piercer was honest with me and suggested waiting.  I'd rather wait and get what I want then someone who doesn't feel comfortable possibly make a mistake!  I also really appreciated the fact that the owner didn't bullshit me.  He gave me a full explanation why he wouldn't do that piercing that way again and I didn't feel like he was just trying to talk me out of it.When it came to the actual piercing, he was quick about it.  If you have a piercing of any sort, you know they aren't comfortable, but this wasn't extremely painful.  I had worked myself up to expect so much more pain.  Everything was clean and sterile.  Great experience.  I'll definitely be back for any more piercing needs and jewelry! Staff was very friendly, very knowledgable, and good at calming down me and my two friends who were nervous about our respective piercings. The piercer, Eric, had us breath in and out immediately before the piercing. The prices for our piercings were very cheap(my triples on my ear lobes were $15 total for both sides!), but the quality of the earrings is excellent. The establishment is also very clean, which was a concern for me after having a bad infection in one of my doubles last year. All in all, extremely happy with the results.
