This review is for my wife's tattoo done 1/21/19.I have been searching for an experienced tattoo artist since moving to Myrtle Beach from New Jersey in 2017.  Yes, I am really picky :-).  I was highly recommended to Elite Ink and specifically Bobby Lanz.  Unfortunately I was told he is not taking new clients.  After going through the work of the other artists I decided to choose Devon Lanz.  You ask if I was looking for an experienced artist why did I choose an apprentice.  Well first of all her work is awesome.  Secondly, she is Bobby's daughter so I'm thinking good genes.  Lastly I met her.  That did it, she totally got me.  Devon is a perfectionist and her work shows it.  She did my late dogs paws and nose.  It made me cry from happiness.  My Mia was back with me.Everything about my experience with Elite Ink was above expectations.  The place itself, the staff, artists & especially Devon.  It was worth the wait. After I got my first tattoo here in Myrtle (born and raised) that didn't come out so well, I tried Elite for my second tattoo. Six tattoos in and Elite is the only place I'll go for a tattoo. It's the only place I recommend to anyone, and I take all of my friends and family who are wanting a tattoo here. Between my friends and family, I've seen over 12 tattoos from here, both fresh ink and healed, and they're always great!! With tattoos you get you pay for, and I have no issue paying for Elite. I've been getting tattooed for well over 10 years (don't do the math ) and I've seen quite a few shops but none have impressed me the way Elite has. Their shop is absolutely gorgeous. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you feel at home. This shop has some of the best artists I've had the pleasure of meeting. Booking an appointment is super easy and if you're an anxiety sufferer like me the phone isn't the route you like to use so thankfully they have an online option! I went in and made a appointment the day before with Adam .I was on vacation in Myrtle Beach SC.I came in on the Time  and date my card said for a the consolation.When I finally met Adam he was so rude to me ! He didn't even ask me what I wanted !He said that he was booked up and he didn't have time for me ! I have never been treated with such rudeness and unprofessionalism ! I left there feeling embarrassed and disappointed! I don't recommend this joint to any one !ADAM THINKS HES OFF OF LA LINK HAHAHAHA they seem to only three stars ugh also I'm from five hours away I do not know the other artists who would be in competition with theses guys ! Nobody put me up to this !these guys Are just flat out rude and arrogant! Oh and one guy I believe Adam even has his own parking space with his picture on it in front ! I got my first tattoo with Joe mid August and it was by the far best experience. Joe took his time and experience when drawing my sketch for my forearm piece. Whenever I came back to see what he had drawn up, I was so pumped at the detail he took to the pictures for references of my fur baby. He got the detail down to my cat's cat tag and markings. Joe made me super comfortable. As it being my first tattoo I was so nervous for it to hurt but once he started he had such a light hand. He is awesome with accommodating to your pain tolerance. He made 2 1/2 hours feel like 30 mins. Once I saw my piece finished, I cried bc it is such a beautiful piece of my precious fur baby that I will cherish forever. Scheduling was easy, They assigned me with an artist based off of what I was looking to get done. Had a quick consultation, basically it’s just meant to get the info of your ideas so your artists can work on your piece. Me and Jake worked over email, because we live a few hours away. We came in for our appointment and we still needed some extra adjustments. Jake was more than happy to reschedule and keep working with what I was looking for. We had a few more email exchanges and scheduled the day for my tattoo. Jake did and amazing job with my tattoo. His extra details stand out and brought my tattoo to life. Amazing job Jake!!! If I could give them a rating of ten stars, I would!!! It’s no surprise why they are rated the number one tattoo shop in Myrtle Beach 2018. From the friendly young lady (sorry that I forget her name) at the front desk, to my professional artist Hank, hands down it was a phenomenal experience. I did a two piece, eight hour session and Hank knocked it out of the park! I highly recommend this place to anyone local or traveling. A very friendly and clean environment. I will say this, and only because I witnessed people walking in off the street expecting something for nothing and also getting huffy about time not being available immediately. Good work takes time to execute folks, expect to pay a reasonable price for good, if not great work. This tatto parlor is great. Very clean and modern. Only issue was with booking the appointment. They scheduled me for a consultation and I thought they were doing the tattoo after that, but found out I had to book that separately. They offered to get another artist to do it that day, but it actually worked out better to come back later in the week. Joe did an awesome job on my tattoo. Looking forward to coming back next year. This place is amazing! The second I walked in the door the staff was extremely friendly. The place didn't look run down and the service was phenomenal. The artist, Bruce Davis, is a riot to be with and is extremely nice! He made the long tattoo appointment seem quick by constantly making jokes and keeping conversation. I have wanted to get a tattoo but had always been super nervous to get one. I visited Elite for the first time in February and Adam quickly put me at ease. I love the design he came up and get many compliments on it. The end of May, I was back in the area from Boston and paid Adam another visit. This is undoubtedly the best tattoo shop in the Myrtle Beach area. Bruce Davis sets the difference between a tattooer and an artist. He genuinely cares for his customers and has amazing bedside etiquette. During our consultation he was extremely open to my ideas while throwing in his own artistic flare. The 6 hours I was in his chair flew by. He’s a great guy with a kick ass attitude and mind set. From here on out he will be the only one to do any work on my body. Without a doubt, this is the best place to go for a tattoo in Myrtle Beach. I did use Google reviews to choose this spot and glad I did. After going back and forth via emails, I stopped in to meet Hank and secure my appointment. From the time I stepped into the shop, until my tattoo was complete, the entire staff was polite and courteous. Hank is definitely a true artist. Through our five hour session, he was great to have a conversation with and made the entire experience absolutely awesome. He took his time and the tattoo he did for me was outstanding! VERY COMFORTABLE ATMOSPHERE AND CLEAN AS A DOCTORS OFFICE. KATIE AND SARAH ARE PHENOMENAL. BOTH OF THEM ARE REALLY SWEET AND BEAUTIFUL! SUPER HELPFUL AND ALSO PERSONABLE. I have numerous tats from several shops in both NC and SC. This shop is clean, professional and friendly. Allen did a piece on both me and my gf. Very pleased with the work on both of us. He was great to work with. Some people think there is a connection between price and quality. You can get a bad expensive tat and a good cheap tat. It all comes down to the artist. I can't speak for other artists at Elite, but I will have more work done there by Allen. Read Less

I got my first tattoo here, but also had the feeling that I was being ripped off. After meeting multiple artists over the years...I found out that I was ripped off. I got a decent size jelly on my shoulder. No color at all, and mediocre shading. $450. And I tipped on top of that. I should've done my research before hand :/I just feel as if I got taken advantage of unfortunately.Update: I got my tattoo covered up but I found it interesting that people thought my review was funny. I'm a honest guy really, so I've attached a photo of what $450 got me. I'm not bashing anyone here, this was just my experience personally. It may have just been the tattoo artist that happened to be there when I walked in and laid a deposit with. Maybe I just got unlucky. Read Less
