Dj did mine and my husbands tattoos && he was amazing! We have definitely found our new tattoo shop! Not only was he amazing but everyone there made you feel welcome! I have been to several tattoo shops and most the time no one speaks to you, they are there to do their job and that's it, not here! I think I spoke to at least everyone there once while I was getting my tattoo! They definitely make you feel welcome!Another amazing thing is , they give you 3 months after your first session to come back for a FREE touch up. I've never been anywhere that's offered that. && even if you miss the 3 month mark, they only charge you $25. Best place. I would definitely recommend them! Read Less

After trying to reach out to another shop to try and get a piece done multiple times, I went to 8 Sins. They were very professional and DJ did a great job on my tattoo. They got me in the next day. I have been wanting a tattoo for about 8 years. I am from a small town where there were no tattoo studios and I never wanted to have "one of those" tattoos that was small, crappy and "from those days." So, in the last few years, I have visited several tattoo studios in various Southern states. I have never really felt comfortable in any studio I have been in because I always felt that the people treated me like I wasn't "cool enough" to get a tattoo and acted like I "didn't belong." I am a girl, so I even tried the lady in downtown Columbia thinking surely SHE will understand what I'm going through and create a beautiful piece of art on my arm. However, she turned out to be much more talk than action and after weeks of anticipation with no results or effort on her part, she left me crying for hours about how I would never find the right person to give me my first tattoo.THANK ALL THAT IS HOLY that I stumbled into Unique Ink. As soon as my boyfriend and I walked through the door, the girls at the desk immediately engaged us in conversation about what we were looking for. As soon as my boyfriend opened Eric's portfolio, he told me that this was the shop I was going to get my first tattoo in. I was looking through Jonathan's portfolio and liked his work and decided I wanted him to tattoo Rosa from Final Fantasy IV on my upper right arm. Once we found a decent concept picture for him to work with, HE DID EVERYTHING RIGHT AWAY! Unlike that self-acclaimed "half-japanese" "artist" downtown, Jonathan dedicated the rest of his night at work to my tattoo and in a few hours I was in the process of getting a gorgeous tattoo. Meanwhile, Eric tattooed my boyfriends knuckles and it looked wonderful!!! By 1:30 in the morning (yes, he even stayed late to finish my tattoo!) I had my first tattoo on my arm and every day since I have been eager to go back to finish my color when the outlines and shading heal (and it is healing beautifully!) Jonathan and Eric are some of the most amazing tattoo artists that my boyfriend and I have ever met, and finding them in Columbia has really excited us because now we know we have local people who want to create our tattoos just as much as we want to get them.Don't waste your time talking to people who are more interested in putting THEIR WORK on YOUR BODY than in tattooing something YOU WANT. Just because you want a custom tattoo doesn't mean you have to deal with bi-polar ego-maniacs!!! So, just go to Unique Ink and talk to Jonathan or Eric and I am sure you will not regret it! They are quick, patient, understanding, funny... and they LOVE to tattoo people, which means instead of just putting their "work" on your body for a fee, they are passionate about making the tattoo look exactly as you want it to.
